    Being me I was extremely smart and decided to announce my awakening from lurkiness (it’s a word :ph34r:) right before the busiest week I’ve had in months. Show week.

    Sooooo I’ve been alternating between being Penny Pingleton and backstage crew  all week for Hairspray and so far it’s going pretty well! Minimal set and lighting rig breakage, no lost wigs, forgotten lines being improved into the void. But, alas, tonight is closing night and I have no idea how to feel about that. School musicals are a unique experience, perhaps completely removed from other theatre. :P
    Don’t wish us luck! We need it.

      I love my current theater program! I much prefer it to my school one although I loved that too! I have auditions in a WEEK!!!!! Wish me luck I do need it... Sounds fun, Cinnamon!

    Sup folks.

    sooooo I've kind of just disappeared and been lurking since May and I thought its high time I'm active again! A bunch of stuff has happened in my life in my break so I will try and condense them for you into  dot points.

    • EXAMMSS and hence bad mental health
    • Rehearsals, rehearsals and more rehearsals for my school musical (its opening in 6 days) 
    • I sign up for a charity event called the Worlds Greatest Shave to raise money for blood cancer and donate my lucious locks
    • More EXAMMS
    • More bad mental health
    • Gets to do JAZZ at a soiree. 
    • HYPERFIXATION ON STAR TREK
    • reading slump. literally cannot read. was freaking out
    • Reconnect with friend who I've known since I was 9
    • They helps me with my mental health by basically just being awesome.
    • Performance for Drama at school.
    • I discover the Big Bang Theory TV show. become obsessed
    • all the rehearsals for all the things
    • Become like bffs with aforementioned friend
    • OH NO I HAVE A HUGE CRUSH ON THEM AND HAVE FOR YEARS BUT HAVE BEEN SUPRESSING IT AHHHHH SCUD SCUD SCUD. I HATE FEELINGS
    • Get invited to a DnD group
    • Squeals with excitement because I was invited to a DnD group 
    • Does a mini Guys and Dolls and gets to do an awesome accent.
    • Has raised over $2,600 for blood cancer! (YAYYY)
    • The Worlds Greatest Shave happens, my previously crazy curly hair is no longer.
    • My head freezes in the Aussie winter :P
    • School holidays.
    • Youth Camp
    • A bunch of holiday homework
    • Best friend continues to be the best person I know, is adorable.
    • Work experience at my drama studio is very informative and awesome
    • Rehearsal, rehearsal, rehearsal.
    • Back to school
    • school work

      Theater + DND + School will do that to you… I’ve been there. Glad you’re back!!

      That's a wild ride there mate. I remember when I was at school and uni, I had myriad extra-curricular activities on the go and my academic performance took a hit. 

      Be careful to set aside enough time for yourself to get your work done to a good standard and also to just relax.

    If you believe yourself to be a theatre kid, you can say you are one. We aren't snobs here, we wont be like "oh ho? you cant rap guns n' ships and you aren't knowledgeable about obscure theatre and shows? Pshhh you cannae be a real theatre kid then!" If you like theatre you are welcome to identify as one of us!

    Last night I read Red, White and Royal Blue. The POV was a bit strange but overall it was a good quick read.

    “Gee, thanks!” Jay responded forgetting all his troubles for a while at the sight of food. He took a big, crunchy, bite. With juice running down his chin and a mouth full of apple flesh Jay tried to say ‘it’s an apple’ but it came out more like “oiffs am aphell!”

    As the platform descended Jay thought. He thought about his hungry stomach, he thought about the Mishmash inn, he thought about this strange new place with its solid light and not-magic. Most of all, he thought about home, his Za, the trees, the lakes, that first day he'd mastered flight. When he'd left he had never thought he would want to go back there again but now... well hindsight was a powerful tool. What he'd once thought of as commonplace and drab was beautiful. He was homesick and hungry, the worst combination, well maybe not, but it sure felt like it. The only thing that could take his mind off his feeling would probably be an epic battle with a dragon-like creature of some sort. That was unlikely though... That's when he heard the grumbling roar. "Hey, what was that?" He asked, tugging on Glena's sleeve @NerdyAarakocra
