So we're watching a documentary about the triangle shirtwaist factory fire in my history class, and they just showed multiple pictures of teenage girls jumping out of the windows on the eighth, ninth, and tenth floors because the doors, which were iron, by the way, were locked, the fire escape was rusted and had collapsed while there were multiple teenage girls on it, and there weren't really any other exits. under the windows, there was an iron picket fence, and a lot of the girls who had jumped out of the windows had been impaled by the fence. The rest died when their bodies hit the sidewalk. One of the firefighters described the sound of bodies hitting the pavement as rain.
But yeah. Now I don't ever want to step into a building that has more than three stories. And even that is pushing it for me. I don't care that I would be able to stay just on the first floor. I don't ever want to be in a building like that.
During Girls Camp two summers ago (I think), we had to stay in the dorms at the university where we live, and I think I was in a dorm on like, the 12 or 13th floor or so. I'm pretty sure that @InfiniteInsanity was on the top floor. I remember her saying that she absolutely hating having to be up there, and that she made the mistake of looking out the window. I was fine with it then, but I'm not fine with it now.
Sorry for the rant, but, uh, I just needed to get that out.
