  1. This is the Conklin? If that works, huzzah!
  2. Random Sketch has that slightly-wicked-schoolboy look. VGD!
  3. I might first try a Waterman ink….then if that's no better, try a cartridge (if you have any, and I'm assuming this pen takes standard internationals).
  4. I'd change the ink first, then try a cart…do you have any inks other than Noodlers? Bad Black Moccasin has been trouble in some pens. Some inks work well in certain pens, but refuse to cooperate in others. It's a juggling act, I swear.
  5. Frustrating! I do have a couple of pens that need either the water-dip or the converter twist to get them writing again, but I don't really mind. Does everything else seem okay? Nib seated well, etc? Have you tried the pan with a cartridge? Is whatever ink you're using considered a dry or reluctant ink? Wish I could be of more help.
  6. Love your sketches in the first post! Lively, bold.
  7. We are watching Nausicaa now. It's a masterwork.
  8. Scared of gel! I like my nails as they are….and I'm constantly changing color, maybe once weekly, even more often. Finally got them done today, a clear translucent pink.
  9. I'm sorry to hear that. It's so tough to lose a beloved pet.
  10. They are that, for now. And I won't tell anyone about yours.
  11. Yay! Anyone else use fountain pens for sketching or doodling? I started with fountain pens by being a sketch artist.
  12. We never ever had anything remotely like that much fun in my school! I'm not going anywhere, but will be handing out swag if you care to stop by. I keep dreaming of makeup lately, too. Kits with everything you could possibly need, like the stuff that appears every Christmas.
  13. Even if they weren't cute, it would be a horror show. And the formaldehyde made me dizzy.
  14. Iiieeeee!! We had to dissect piglets. I didn't want to eat for a week.
  15. I wasn't asked and I'm butting in here….however….the friends thing. Getting out of the house. Learning to deal (or not) with all sorts, including bullies. Working on a school newspaper for a couple of years. Of course there were also MANY things I disliked. Starting with Phys Ed. I realize the need but getting sweaty in the middle of the day? Ick. Make it the last class if you must. I was so happy when in Jr. College you had a choice of sports, like bowling and badminton.
  16. Didn't Mozart write a whole opera or something about a magic flute? So why not!
  17. I wave my fingers around in a grandiose manner and loudly proclaim, 'Just did my nails, can't touch anything.' (Of course, sometimes that fails and I get a minute smudge… Then I have to decide whether to live with it or re-do the offending nail. Usually I live with it (I'm pretty much one-and-done these days, no base coat or top coat). I know people use Seche Vite or some other fast-dry top coat but I never have. Often use Sally Hansen Insta-Dry colors but go through the same finger-waving above). And there you have it: Nail Routine 101. Hope it helps.
  18. I have spent a fortune in makeup, from Dollar store to drug store to Chanel and Dior. Especially if you count nail polish. It took a global pandemic to get me to stop wearing any. PS, Also have many dresses with pockets and some without. Only worn in spring/summer due to unhappy memories of freezing my legs off in winter.
  19. The above seem to be newer models and look very nice. I like my Preppys (Preppies?) and have a number of them from back when they had color-plated nibs. The blue was at some point filled with an iron gall ink that stripped the plating right off. Old or new, they are my go-to pens for travel or quick notes.
  20. I consistently hear good things about his work. Two new on-a-whim pens to report: a Wing Sung 629 (I THINK that is the model #) piston filler, and a Jinhao 159, but in resin so it's not too heavy for me. The Wing Sung is supposed to be the size of a Montblanc 146; the Jinhao, the 149. Both are quite whimsically filled with Montblanc ink.
  21. Dean Loontz edits as he goes. I don't. So there ya go.
  22. Where DON'T I? Looking out a window and making stuff up was something I started way back in grade school and still do. Seeing a situation in real life, or a movie, and wondering, 'What if THIS happened instead?' ...and oh, right, dreams, notebook next to bed... I have so many I'll never be able to write them all. It's almost like an illness. Maybe the idea fairy keeps zinging me. (I once sold ideas.)
