The Person Below Me
That1Cellist replied to The Awakened Salad's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Kind of, unless they are loud. TPBM has a pet rabbit. -
I agree with those rankings, though I didn't know the Sparg0 news. Fox is not even close to my favorite character, but you must have to be so good at quickly processing information to play like Light does. Another player who is pretty cool is Void. I think that if Sheik was better, or if he played a better character, he would be one of the more dominant players in the world.
-
Yeah, I know about him. I think that people who want to ban Steve are a little quick to judge. Yes, he is great, but I want to see what kind results he gets after people adapt to play against him and learn matchups. Who are your favorite pros to watch? I've been watching Riddles recently, since I think his characters have really high skill ceilings, and it's fun to see a capable person play with them. Do you think Sparg0 is going to become number 1? I think he might be currently, but I think Leo is still better, for now.
-
I haven't decided for Ultimate yet. In sm4sh I played Mario and Meta Knight. I personally think that Steve is kind of just stupidly good. Kazuya is really good as well, but counterplay seems a bit more obvious for him. Pyra/Mythra is really just one of those characters. They are really good, and you don't have to really practice too be good at them. Besides that, most of the DLC is more normal, though MkLeo's Byleth looks just insane, but that's the best player for you.

Yup, I completely agree. What are everyone's thoughts on DLC characters?

Well fabrials just got even more powerful.
That1Cellist replied to Frustration's topic in Stormlight Archive
I suppose that could work, but you would think then that more people would have seen them due to the quite violent nature of the planet. I think that they are either really rare, or only appear to the dying creature (Though I'm not sure how the latter would work) Either way, that makes them mostly impractical for use in fabrials. Plus, they might not have the effect you are thinking of. It would be totally amazing if we saw something like this in the future though, and I guess it's not impossible. -

Cool, but I seriously doubt that any will ever get made. We know they exist, but mostly, people on Roshar have no idea. The ethics of capturing one is really not good. So I guess villains could get death rays, maybe? Do we know if all spren have an effect in fabrials? -
I think that he basically just does whatever his bearers ask him to do and trust their usage of him to be destroying evil. Basically, you draw him, stuff dies, no exceptions, that's it. (As far as we know)

Yup. And then you get baseball batted or back thrown and die. Ness is really annoying. He does have some cool combos, but most of the time he just shoots PK fire.
-
One of my least favorite moves in the game is Lucas' Up-smash. I think he is invincible for the first part, and then it hits like, everywhere. I don't think so. Marth is annoying.
-
Another fun thing is trapping people in Corrin forward smash, since it has a weak hitbox that hits them over and over.
-
Bowser tough guy can be hilarious sometimes as well.

I like swordies, but they are a bit boring. I guess I probably play more on the aggressive side, since I get bored camping.

In smash 4, I played Mario and Meta Knight. I don't know about Ultimate, I haven't really decided. Any suggeestions?

Easter Eggs in Alcatraz?
That1Cellist replied to Josh L.'s topic in Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians
What if Quentin actually is just the most powerful guy ever, and he can speak in languages outside of his universe, but no matter how he does it, it always comes out in gibberish. With, you know, it always translating to whatever he actually happens to be saying. -
I very much agree. Dalinar is an amazing character.

What is EoF? The carpet that Wizard had destroyed became a cognative shadow and created an organization called "The Rugbloods" to help him further his schemes and reunite him with a body.- 111828 replies

I really like a lot of this, and I think that Nale being Odium's champion, and then pursuing a sort of crusade afterward independent of him would fit in well with some of the other stuff discussed in this thread. I personally think that Moash will fall into the background after Stormlight 5 (If he doesn't die) But I suppose he would make a very interesting main antagonist. I also think that Ba-Ado-Mishram will have a much larger impact on the next book, as well as Navani recently bonding to the Sibling. I don't know what to think about the possibility of Adolin being a worldhopper, but he just seems very different than the actual worldhoppers we know, so I would say it's unlikely. He is still part of the royalty in Alethkar, even if he declined becoming king, and I think that he wouldn't feel like he could just leave. Adolin also has some tension going on with Dalinar that needs to get resolved at some point. Attempts to revive Maya will also continue. This will likely work together with Shallan's goals and searching for Ba-Ado-Mishram, as well as getting vengeance on the Ghoshtbloods. As for a battle between Nale and Szeth, I think that it could totally happen much in the way you describe, but the fact is, Nale is literally a herald who has been fighting for thousands of years. He has way more experience than Szeth. We already saw in their previous confrontation that Nale is by far the superior to Szeth, so unless the fifth ideal give him a huge skill boost, I don't see a way for Szeth to win unless something else changes. (That is with assuming that Szeth does swear fifth ideal, and also doesn't just pop Nale into nothingness with Nightblood) I think that Odium's new plans, whatever they might be, will also be more important, with him trying to spread his influence throughout the Cosmere. Additionally, there are still some death rattles that need to be accounted for, along with some unmade that we know virtually nothing about. El will probably be a more important villain as well. Maybe he will direct Odium's plots on Roshar while he is occupied with the larger scale plans. Shallan has to clear out the rest of the details regarding her past and needs to deal with Radiant in some way. We still are definitely missing things that happened in her childhood. The Ghostblood's goals will likely become clearer as well. The honorblades will likely also play a more major role, as we know they were all in Shinovar at some point. With the expedition there and Ishar wielding the bondsmith honorblade, I think it is likely for the other ones to play a role as well. We don't know where some of the heralds are still, and I think it's likely that at least one or two more of them show up. I know that I missed some stuff, like what Kaladin is going to do, and what the impact of anti-stormlight and anti-voidlight will be, but those are my general thoughts, though I'm sure Brandon Sanderson will surprise us all.

I'm more curious if a lifeless could bond a spren. I believe on the Coppermind, it says that Nightblood could bond a spren in some very, very unusual circumstances. What about a lifeless?

We know that Nomad is running away from the Night Brigade, and in order to get to another planet, he must gain access to a sizeable amount of investiture. Knowing this, I am very confused as to what happens when the glowing man grabs his face. If the power the man was using was invested, as I assume it was, then wouldn't Nomad have absorbed it? Additionally, we know that the sunlight on this planet is almost for certain invested, and Nomad himself compares it to Taldain. Why then, doesn't he just walk out into the sunlight, absorb enough investiture to get off world, and just leave? Auxiliary says that the sunlight would kill him if he were out in it for too long, but not immediately, why then, does he not absorb the investiture in the sunlight?

Could saying that Moash is something Odium "never created before" mean that Moash's relief from his emotion is directly tied to Odium, as opposed to Dia-Gonarthis? I don't know what kind of difference that would make, but it's still interesting. If we think that taking away emotions is the power of Dia-Gonarthis, then it's influence surely must have come upon others in the past, so it wouldn't make sense for Odium to say that unless there is something distinctly unique about Moash's situation.

That is a good point, since we don't know really anything about the Unmade before they were unmade, so I suppose that their abilities could have predated their unmaking. I do find it unlikely that it left their abilities completely unaltered though. How much do we know about how enlightening works? It's not simply spren becoming self-aware, but what exactly does it do? Could it be taking the splinters of honor and cultivation, and then adding in some Odium as well? Is that what you were trying to say? What impact does this have on the spren? I think maybe a greater innate self-awareness, at least.
