    I was inspired tonight and decided to write a poem. I found meaning in it, and I hope you all will as well.

    Rising above 

    An ocean of oblivion

    A sailboat curves

    Skimming a stunning horizon

     

    Enthralling hues

    Ooze across the painted sunset

    Butterscotch gold

    Flows into a soothing lilac

     

    The vessel sways

    A babe sheathed in its mother’s arms

    Seagulls warble

    In harmony with the wind’s cry

     

    A man stands firm

    Eying the melancholy sea

    His face is wet

    Cheeks dripping with profound sadness

     

    He is alone

    A star abandoned in the sky

    Lost in himself

    Forgotten by all who knew him

     

     

    He waits

    Watching

    Remembering

    Sobbing

     

    Inside himself

    He sees splintered pasts and futures

    Many shattered 

    But not all left beyond repair

     

    He wishes for time

    For his wounds to begin to heal

    He’s desperate

    But he bears the answer inside

     

    For though he’s lost

    Everything he once called precious

    He’s only held

    By the immense power of hope

     

    The man stands firm

    Crying heavy tears of remorse

    But he has faith

    That everything may be different

     

    Someday

    That's so cool, Elf! You can do it! There's nothing like the Classics- I find them breathtaking and full of life. Personally, this year I'm taking two math/science courses independently because I want to learn new things and to be able to accomplish the goals I've set for myself. Eventually my plan is to double major in computational mathematics and computer science in college (which is coming up decently soon ). I've learned that for me, the more I push myself, the farther I can go and the more the possibilities open up to me. Anyway, here're some school memes

    Wiz, I liked "Through the Trees" a lot! I leaned heavily into the sense of wonder and exploration, trying to recreate childlike amazement. My interpretation of this (other interpretations are always welcome!) was a child seeing the beauty of nature for the first time at the beginning, pushing their way through brush and trees and branches, laughing and having a good time, then suddenly finding themselves in this beautiful natural oasis that's filled with birds and butterflies and astonishing views. They're awestruck and amazed, and spend some time reveling in the beauty, then eventually make their way back, eager to tell others of their adventure. Feel free to share your own thoughts on this!
