Quick Fix Game 62: He Who Arises In Might
Shining Silhouette replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Well, that was an awesome game! I think I'm officially in love with SE now. Now I'm genuinely terrified of Devo after the last two games, but what else is new? Had so much fun- it was really an amazing time. Can't wait for the next one.- 353 replies

Oh, I thought you meant TUN had been stabbed himself. I know I've missed a lot, but I'm glad I didn't miss that. Can't argue with this. At least village has a *good* shot once I die. Makes me feel a lot better- 353 replies

Quick Fix Game 62: He Who Arises In Might

I agree. In regards to the helm though, is it not possible that he started with that C1? I mean Fifth did decide for some reason to void C1 exe immunity. "C3 - Mat makes two trinkets, Symph kills" doesn't seem optimal. Though Fell Sword is 100% blocked by shield I believe, and perhaps they wanted to have a knife/jewel/sword to steal an item, vote manip, or action/item block because the sword can do that once a game. I think it's plausible. C4 - The two trinkets gave them a knife which was used to stab you. When was TUN stabbed?- 353 replies

Quick Fix Game 62: He Who Arises In Might
Shining Silhouette replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Honestly, I'm really embarassed right now. I don't really know what to say. Obviously everyone thinks I'm the corrupted, and I doubt there's much to say about that. This game I've been all over the place so I guess it's fitting that I don't make it to the end. E!Symph I'm genuinely terrified about. It means that I've misread this game even more than I actually have. She's been earnest and trustworthy and I feel like there's no way she's playing the long con- but if so? Masterful acting, better than really any I've ever seen (In all of my experience playing this game :P.). Starting from he Feanor reveal nothing's made sense to me, I don't think I've read Symph as elim this game- and that scares me. If I do consider E!Symph, then it's possible that Mat and Symph decided to lean hard into the inexperienced player act for a good endgame. I'm not sure if they'd go that far as to give up potential kills though. If they did they deserve to win the game honestly. That'd be a play for the ages. AH this is hard Okay, but what the heck is going on with Devo? Did she ever roleclaim? Why has no one talked about this? E!Devo last game was analytical and seemed impartial, and C1 was the opposite of that. Melkor is out of the picture, but does no one else see converted Devo as a possibility? C1 seemed more carefree but the rest of the game has changed her act? Honestly I'm not reading her as elim right, but I don't know why I just realized that Devo didn't roleclaim. TUN is weird to me. I just wrote a long paragraph about why he seems so suspicious to me, and then I realized that it all hinged on the fact that he weren't actually a sailor. And if he's not a sailor, then he's nothing right? And that's impossible. So I'm not sure what to think. OH wait he could've been converted as a sailor. That's living the life actually. So scratch statistics of shield protection or whatnot, TUN is the most suspicious of the three to me. I feel like in the last couple cycles he's faded to the background and I guess because of that I've been slightly elim reading them. Though I also vil read Mat. Though maybe I should my read of TUN because I was wrong on my gut read of Mat. Guys why does everything I say sound so suspicious! Oh, and I started with a shield, by the way (as I said in the paragraph above before I rewrote it). Anyway, I mean I guess the only way I live is to make a case for Symph, and if I succeed that's good for the village. Probably. As long as the conv isn't Devo or TUN. Honestly though, I don't see it. I can't bring myself to vote for Symph. I just can't see someone taking risks like that and being so bold with their elim play. So I've voting TUN. If I die, so be it.- 353 replies

Quick Fix Game 62: He Who Arises In Might

If you add jewels to the mix though that's three votes needed to complete the exe. Especially since you haven't died and so your heir hasn't gotten the Silmarils. Just saying Okay, now to voting. Well, seeing as everyone (I think?) is voting for Mat, I don't really have much to say here. Might as well try to do some analysis though. This might come as a shock to people, but I'm still vil reading Mat. He was my Warder in the WoT game we played and our interactions this game have felt clean; I'm getting the same energy from that other game- and early on, before all the roleclaims, he gave me good vibes when we theorized together about roles. Vil lean I've thought a lot about my Devo vote. I liked how she didn't react to my vote with a whole explanation of why she was innocent, and how she's kind of keeping it more carefree. I'm still really paranoid because Devo makes absolutely no sense to me, but after reading all of her posts again, they seem streamlined and cohesive. So more of a neutral at this point, cause I'm not sure what to do with her. For me, Bookworm reads really earnest and like she's doing best. I can't see her being Melkor, and I really don't see her as a corrupted. Vil lean JNV, I see as shrewd. At first I thought it was malicious, but now I'm reading it more as analytical and helpful for the village. If the tone is an act that I thought it was earlier, it's consistent. Slight vil lean Kas, obviously Vil. Established. So then, TUN, by process of elimination, is Melkor I think. Shields are common, and a 40% chance isn't bad. If he somehow convinced another villager to shield for him, that's up to 64% I think. Not too hard to fake. I think it isn't hard to claim Sailor when you have a shield. So in summary Kas Mat, Bookworm JNV Devo TUN- 353 replies

Hey, just checking in... I've had a crazy(!) day, so I haven't really much time to read through and mull over this thread, but I'll be back before rollover. I know this coming from me probably isn't too meaningful But fwiw I think that a Noble!Melkor would be a little overpowered. The ability to break ties in addition to always having a vote removed from them makes it so that in order to be exed they'd have to have two votes more than everyone else. I guess that would explain the removal of the C1 melkor exe immunity, but it doesn't seem that fair to me.- 353 replies

Quick Fix Game 62: He Who Arises In Might
Shining Silhouette replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
This is something I'm trying to keep in mind, the way that players change their playstyle. At first, I agreed with you and thought that Devo's playstyle was just being snarky and carefree, but it just feels so different from last game. Like intentionally different to me C1. And then C2 and C3 they've seemed to shed that persona a bit, which makes me cautious. Maybe they were converted C1 and decided to change to become more conciliatory, more villagery. Or maybe they started out as Melkor and decided to change their playstyle after they converted. Or maybe they haven't converted yet, and are waiting to pocket one of us at the very end Nevermind, that's impossible. Still, I'm suspicious of them and am worried that they're floating under the radar. They're also voting purely on mech (as far as I can see, if you have other reasons lmk), which makes sense for V!Devo, but it also seems like an easy way to hide in-thread for E!Devo. So I feel like Devo is once again my best vote at this point.- 353 replies

I wish I could do something like that. I took four tests last May and now another six this year. At least I'm a good test-taker. Wish me luck -

Quick Fix Game 62: He Who Arises In Might
Shining Silhouette replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I agree, it puts a lot of things into perspective that I hadn't thought of before. I'm pretty busy today, so I haven't had much time to process this info, but I think this is a breakthrough for the village. Already done I'll post again later this cycle and try to do some analysis after my schedule clears up...I'll try to break down Kas's post, maybe point out a couple things that stick out to me...right now something isn't going through but I think I'm just tired from school (Side note: the pace in this game is quite different from the LG I just played- throwing me off a little. Especially since school's started and I have less free time )- 353 replies

Quick Fix Game 62: He Who Arises In Might
Shining Silhouette replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Thank you xD Well, I was planning on voting JNV this cycle but now I've changed my mind (guess that's my thing this game ). Well, there's clear role overlap. I don't think it's as simple as clearing every role. Even so, I doubt there's a Smith/Son of Feanor/Melkor, so you're off my suspect list for now. Going back to my reads list, I guess right now the most likely elim is Devo. I feel like they've been "out of sight, out of mind". A lot of their C1 play was causal comments that didn't do much to contribute to the conversation. The slight shift in gameplay from last game seems intentional enough (and they seem like a shrewd enough player) that they would change their elim plan to appear different.- 353 replies

Quick Fix Game 62: He Who Arises In Might
Shining Silhouette replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Well, I haven't had much time to go back and analyze today, but I thought I'd write out a couple thoughts. TUN - Right now, I'm not getting anything too suspicious from TUN. The rules analysis did seem like a ploy to step out of conversation initially, but now it's here, so I don't have issues with them. I liked their comments in the rules analysis- I hadn't realized that shields are 100% effective against Fell swords, so if Feanor or a Son of Feanor gets corrupted we can use shields for free protection for the village. Slight v lean, by the way. Araris - has been very inactive this game. I don't want to jump on the Araris train though- I don't think they're avoiding the thread intentionally. Not much to go off of, two posts C1 and one explanation this cycle. Neutral. Mat - I liked Mat's first post this cycle. I do kinda understand the progression argument, but with me being someone who changed votes last cycle after rereading and rereading without really documenting my progression, it makes sense. Slight v lean JNV- I'm split here. Something felt off to me about their first post yesterday, but I can't put my finger on it. They have a good tone to their posts that I like, but it feels a little forced to me. Slight e lean Conq- I liked his point about how Melkor could've "smithed something and gave it to someone to gain their trust". Did anyone receive any items last night? Conq feels natural, and a lot like his vil self last game. Vil lean Danex- I was thinking about a potential Bookworm conversion before EoD, and I realized that Melkor might consider converting someone other than Bookworm and using the backlash against Bookworm to remove a "potential" conversion in thread. So the vote against Bookworm seems suspicious to me as well as some odd things from yesterday. Elim lean Devo- I don't know what's going on with Devo. Looking in thread, it seems other people feel the same. I'll put her in neutral for now, maybe I'll try to do some analysis later Bookworm- I definitely believe that Bookworm's Feanor. I'm tempted to put her in my Vil lean list, but then on the off chance she's converted? Hmmmm... I guess I'll put her in neutral because there's a lot of risk in that area right now. Archer- Possible Village role, which I think has been proven (?). Again, Orator is a compelling choice for corruption. Their post this cycle seems genuine, but easy to fake. I'll put them in vil lean, though, because I've been getting good vibes from them. Kas - I voted on them yesterday because I felt like their posts had a lot of words with few new things in them. Though that could just be me misunderstanding the game . At this point, slight e lean, subject to change however Well, huh, I don't have much to go off of here, I thought I'd come up with more. Dannex is my highest suspicion right now but even that isn't very strong. I'm not too confident in my (mostly gut) reads, so I'll wait until later in the cycle to vote. As of right now, it stands: Vil lean - Conq Slight vil - Mat, TUN, Archer Neutral - Araris, Bookworm, Devo Slight elim - JNV, Kas Elim lean - Dannex- 353 replies
