  1. Well, it doesn't rule out him using Feruchemy to somehow boost it as well. It just means he's a savant, which would further boost it.
  2. Well, we do know that Kelsier stuck around in the Cognitive realm post death and that Hoid travels through the Cognitive realm, so it could very well be that they have had some interactions off-screen since Kelsier's death that didn't go well.
  3. Lurcher, no doubts. For ferring I would probably go Archivist.
  4. Central Arkansas. More specifically, I go to Hendrix College in Conway where there is a growing following for Brandon.
  5. Yeah. Some of the things Brandon has said definitely make it seem like the Skaze are far more in charge of things than they are servants/helpers.
  6. He said some are just Honor, some are just Cultivation, and some are a mixture.
  7. My issue was how you inserted things that aren't even really implied by the linked Brandon quote (i.e., Cultivation magic being end-negative) without differentiating it from what is actually stated. I'm all for speculation and a big fan as well, but it's always important to differentiate between evidence (what we actually know) and speculation.
  8. No. What is said is that Cultivation is most compatible with Ruin, which is very different from saying that they are most alike. And the quote you linked said nothing about end-positivity or -negativity. You're making some major leaps here of which I am rather dubious.
  9. Salve! Great to see another Latinist on the boards.
  10. Slightly off topic, but speaking of Ranette, I would love to see her come out in a sequel if for no other reason that to see Wayne's reaction. That should be humorous.
  11. Those are all three very interesting. I may experiment with the 2nd and 3rd a bit, and if I end up using any of them, it will probably end up being some modification of the 3rd. It just seems like it will be a little bit hard to balance.
  12. The one problem I know have with the theory of the Tears of Edgli being Endowment's body is that, if I remember correctly, they do appear on screen in a Vivenna scene. Looks like now I need to go reread it. (Like I actually need an excuse.)
  13. If I remember correctly, the annotations shed light on that topic, but I can't remember which way it goes. I want to say yes though.
  14. Welcome. Make sure to be ready for your spike through the eye cookie from Kchan.
  15. Yes to both parts. There's also another quote that confirms the voice Lightsong heard to be Endowment linked from the coppermind page for Breath.
  16. That would certainly agree with the fact that when that Spiritual connection is tampered with by the broken Shaod, Seons get wonky.
  17. I think I follow. Yeah, right now it's sort of uncertain I think just to what extent the spiritweb is or is not the same thing as something's Spiritual aspect, which I think we'll need to know more about to figure out the exact mechanics of it all.
  18. Lately I've been working on a concept of a world that alternates every 10 years between being entirely covered with water and being completely devoid of surface water. With this world, I would love to utilize a magic system that utilizes either water or dust as a fuel source depending on which time the magic user was born in. Unfortunately, this is really this only detail of the magic I have figured out. If anyone would be willing to help me brainstorm some ideas, the help would be greatly appreciated.
  19. Alatar, I see where you are coming from in drawing your parallels with Shards, but I feel like what we're seeing with Splinters may be some of what BS has said about there being things in each realm only shadowed in the other realms. As such, then we do see some Physical and Cognitive manifestations of Splinters, but they would still be primarily Spiritual if my theory holds. I also really like your idea of Splinters being able to link into people's spiritwebs, which I would love to take as evidence for shardblades possibly being Splinters given that BS has described it as such in questions about stealing shardblades with Hemalurgy.
  20. Well we do know that these are types of shardblades, and I have previously theorized that different types of shardblades are Splinters of different shards. I think that is about as far as we can go on that particular issue right now with what we have without it becoming baseless speculation.
  21. But the fact that someone needs to have a Breath when they die to Return that there is at least a transformative component to it. I don't think that what I proposed above is by any means complete, but I do think it may be at least somewhat on the right track.
