  1. Bookwyrm turned to Wizard. "Do you know why Nameless is acting like this?" he asked.
  2. "I'm sorry," Bookwyrm said. "I just happened to fall through a hole in the floor, and ended up in the basement. I was not down there intentionally." Bookwyrm turns to Nameless and raises an eyebrow. "Are you okay, Nameless?"
  3. "Oh no," Bookwyrm says. "I swear I didn't do this on purpose. How was I supposed to know that I would fall through that hole in the floor?" he says to no one in particular.
  4. Bookwyrm burns Electrum to help navigate the swarm of monsters. He hits as many of them on the head as he can, using Pewter to enhance his abilities, and tries to make his way to the other side of the room. Making use of the fact that they're retreating, he presses his attack until he reaches the door on the other side. By that point, all of the creatures are gone, except for the unconscious ones left in the room. "We did it!"
  5. "No, I'm using it as a staff! I can just hit them on the head and-" Bookwyrm hits one of them on the head with the Shardstaff, and it falls unconscious. "See?"
  6. "Wait," Bookwyrm said. "What if instead of killing them, we just knock them out? Then they're unconscious, and they can't multiply because they aren't dead." He turns and yelps as he sees the creatures moving faster. "How in existence are they doing that?!" He yells. Then he turns to Nameless and Silhouette. "Get ready! I'm dropping the bubble!" Bookwyrm drops the bubble.
  7. "...What?" Bookwyrm asks. He also summons his Shardblade as a staff in preparation for the battle.
  8. Bookwyrm leaps toward Silhouette and Nameless and begins burning Bendalloy, throwing up a speed bubble. "We need to plan our attack," Bookwyrm says. "Any ideas?"
  9. Bookwyrm sees one of his Electrum shadows dodging something and does so himself, and is then surprised to see the thing that he dodged was Nameless's unconscious form falling from the ceiling, rather than one of the terrifying monsters.
  10. "Great, now the wall can read my mind." Bookwyrm tries a different strategy: He burns Electrum and follows the path that leads to the most success.
  11. Bookwyrm keeps walking through the maze. This maze is awfully boring, he thinks. He then burns Iron to check and see if there are any metal sources nearby, or if the walls are made entirely of stone.
  12. "Ow." Bookwyrm lowers himself back to the ground. "I guess I'll have to do this the hard way..." He keeps walking.
  13. Bookwyrm sees a vast maze before him. He starts walking, then turns left. Then left again. Then straight. Then right. Then- Wait, he thinks. What am I doing? Bookwyrm Lashes himself upward to get above the maze.
  14. Bookwyrm burns pewter and tin to clear his head, and stands up while using Stormlight to heal. He reads the wall. "Oh, stormwinds," he says, then turns around to see...
  15. Bookwyrm raises a skeptical eyebrow. "Let me see that paper-" He is cut off as a door slams in his face and sends him careening down the hallway, deep into the darkness.
  16. Bookwyrm dismisses his blade and goes to study the symbols, but is blocked as another door closes. He is forced to keep moving. "Where is this leading us, anyway?" Bookwyrm asks.
  17. "Oh, that's a good idea." Bookwyrm takes one of his vials and drinks it. He also makes sure he has plenty of Stormlight.
  18. Bookwyrm briefly attempts to slice through one of the closing doors with his Shardblade, just to see what would happen.
  19. Bookwyrm summons a blue flame in his hand. "Does this help?"
  20. Bookwyrm yelps and summons his Shardblade in an attempt to slice through whatever is pulling him into the darkness. EDIT: Ninja'd. Ignore this post.
  21. Bookwyrm walks into the room and accidentally falls into a hole in the floor, landing immediately in the basement next to Silhouette. "Storm it," he says. "I just broke a rule, didn't I?"
  22. Mostly, I think what they're trying to get from images like this is the clues for how the first galaxies formed. Galactic Archeology (yes, that's a real term) is a field that is still shrouded in mystery, and one of JWST's purposes is to look as far back as we can to see the earliest galaxies and find out how they formed. This isn't even the deepest image that JWST will take, so we'll probably learn a lot more through as it continues to take pictures. JWST also has the capability to take an image of an exoplanet (a planet in another solar system) and analyze its atmosphere to figure out if it's inhabitable. I'm just as excited for those discoveries as the ones about galaxies.
  23. To answer your question @Shining Silhouette, yes. Those large red galaxies are the real deal for all those scientists: they're trying to get the earliest look at the universe they can. Those red galaxies are probably some of the first ones that ever formed in the universe, and in this image, we're seeing them as they looked around 13 billion years ago. (I think.)
  24. I am, as a science nerd, in a very happy place right now.

Come to this thread to see why.
