I'm reading The Stormlight Archive for the first time

SA2, chapter 29: Sadeas and Ialai continue to be snakes, but I don't think resigning as Highprince of Information will end well for Sadeas, I think it will give Dalinar an opening to have someone better appointed. Meanwhile Adolin is rocking it, I'm starting to like his character more. -

SA2, chapter 28, Shallan: WTF... Sorry guys, but I lost some respect for Shallan for letting Tyn push her into doing that, and I lost some respect for Kaladin for giving Shallan his boots. I mean, I don't mind if Shallan wants to practice her acting skills, but it should be her decision how, where, when, and what to do. If she really wanted to strangle Tyn, the best way to do that would have been to not go along with Tyn's game... -

SA2, chapter 27, Shallan's past: so Shallan's father killed her mother. I wonder why Shallan can see her mother's soul and her brother can't. And what does it mean that her soul is in a box? So many questions... -

SA2, chapter 26, Adolin: Nice, Eshonai finally got the word across that she wants to meet with Dalinar! From what I could tell, that seemed the most important part of the chapter. Besides that it was mostly telling us that things are still happening. Numbers are still mysteriously showing up near Dalinar during highstorms (outside his room this time instead of inside? Not sure where exactly the numbers appeared). The other Alethi still don't like the Kholins, Adolin and his family are still wondering about Jasnah and Shallan. And... how did the bridgemen get one of Sadeas' bridges? -

For some reason it makes me happy to hear you'd follow my nonexistent YouTube channel SA2, chapter 25, Kaladin: Lol, I couldn't stop laughing at Kaladin on that one horse. My guess is that it will become his horse. I hope Kaladin changes his mind and let's that one person train him to fight against Shardbearers. Now he's about to go patrolling outside the warcamps with his bridgemen. I'd be very surprised if he doesn't end up running into Shallan! And something tells me they're not gonna get along at first (even beyond Syl and Pattern hating each other). My rep says I have Hoid's job. Speaking of which, I don't believe Wit has made an appearance in book 2 yet. -

I'm glad you're enjoying it! SA2, chapter 24, Shallan: Hm, not sure what to make of Tyn. I like that Shallan's reality is so outlandish that Tyn believes she's making it up. Shows how much Shallan has achieved. Honestly, Tyn makes me nervous. I hope Shallan knows how to handle her... I wonder what Shallan had in mind when she pretended to have some dirt on Dalinar. -

Or maybe I'm the bad person, caring about a jerk like Tvlakv XD SA2, chapter 22, Kaladin: I'm glad Kaladin decided to tell Dalinar about Amaram. Looking forward to seeing where this goes next. Nice to see the development with Shen. I was looking forward to this. I wish Kaladin tried to help him more. Just give him a spear and when people complain, tell them Shen was part of Bridge Four. I know this probably wouldn't go across well, but someone has to make the first move to bring about change, you know? What's this assassin at the end of the chapter? Did Szeth finally make it to the Shattered Plains?? Edit: chapter 23: I know who's trying to kill Elhokar by replacing the stones in his armor and cutting the balcony. It must be the Parshendi spies passing as Parshmen that Navani mentioned in her journal! -

Can't wait! I was right! SA2, chapter 21, Shallan: That was a very nice chapter. Shallan is getting good at maneuvering people. I loved the part where Pattern helped!! That was great!! I was a little disappointed with the part where she decided to do away with Tvlakv. It's not like he liked her before, but now she's downright made an enemy of him. I feel like there could have been a way for her to free the slaves without doing what she did. If Dalinar bought them, he would have set them free (not that Shallan knew that). Though I understand if Shallan didn't want them to be sold in the first place, something that would only encourage Tvlakv to keep on slaving. Either way, my theory is that we'll see more of Tvlakv in the future, perhaps he'll come back for revenge in book 3? -

SA2, chapter 20, Shallan: Oh, hello there Gaz. Yes, Shallan, I also can't believe that worked, but I'll take it. That was a fun little chapter. Looking forward to what Shallan cooks up next. I wonder who took her drawing... I'm going to guess... Bluth? As Shallan rounds up all the villains from Kaladin's past, her eventual arrival on the Shattered Plains promises to be ever more exciting. My favorite SA characters, updated list: 1) Szeth 2) Kaladin 3) Pattern -

Yay Yay, I hope so! SA2, chapter 19, Shallan's past: Does Nan mean eldest? So after Helaran dies, Balat gets the title? I wonder if Shallan gets Helaran's Shardblade. Seeing Shallan's father wreck the chairs was a little comical. Can't wait to find out what secret project Helaran was involved in. -

Well, fingers crossed that I don't lose my love for Szeth as I find out more about him. SA2, ch18: That was a fun chapter; I like seeing Kaladin fight. The part where the Stormlight failed him was a bit disturbing though. Does Stormlight not support certain attitudes? I hope there's a better explanation. -

SA2, ch17, Shallan: I really like Pattern. I hope we get lots more of him. So I wonder, are healing abilities something all surgebinders have in common? Well, it sounds like our group is going to meet someone soon. I can't say I'd mind if Tvlakv and the others get killed and Shallan survives on her own again. -

SA2, ch16: Kaladin is the one I'm most eager to hear about, but I feel like not much happened in this chapter. I look forward to seeing Syl and Pattern get into whatever the spren equivalent of a fist fight is. -

SA2, ch15, Shallan: Pattern proves to be even more awesome, with his mimicking abilities. I wonder what happened near the fire that scared Tvlakv so much. Did Shallan use one of her surgebinder abilities? Shallan continues to aspire to be Jasnah, lol. -

SA2, ch14: Adolin wins his first Blade, very nice. I didn't fully understand why everyone was so upset and what he did that was so different than standard dueling style except... attack quickly and violently, which seems like a fair move. I like how Adolin is so loyal to his father at this point, and it's a little funny how he doesn't trust Kaladin. -

I forgot to say one thing about the Eshonai chapters. The Parshendi are able to jump huge distance between chasms, but I feel like we don't see any other evidence of their legs' great strength. For example, there was that tower the Five met on top of, and from the descriptions, I wouldn't have been able to tell that it wasn't a human climbing it. SA2 ch13: fun little Shallan chapter. I love her interactions with Tvlakv and his men, and especially Shallan talking to Pattern. Can't wait to see her arriving on the Shattered Plains. The loss of both her art and the broken Soulcaster is a well placed plot twist. I like the hint that drawing is to Shallan what fighting is to Kaladin. -

SA2, interlude 4, Eshonai: my guess is that stormform will work. I look forward to seeing what it is and how the Alethi react to it. I'm a little confused why Eshonai has to go out into the storm where before they explained that using a trapped spren was an alternative? Is it because it's a new form? Still curious what form the Parshendi wore in the prologue. -

SA2 interlude 3, Rysn: cool to see this character again. And was that hanging Aimian guy the same guy who was cataloging spren? I wonder why Rysn has such horrible opinions of the Aimian. So the whole trade was meant to be a test, but I wonder what would have counted as passing? Now Rysn can no longer use her legs, yikes! -

I like the main story better, unless the interlude is about Szeth (and now I can add "or Eshonai"). SA2, interlude 2, Ym: Another surgebinder! Or not, because now he's dead! Nice to hear more about the Iriali. -

Is it worse than Sadeas betraying Dalinar in book 1? SA2, interlude 1, Eshonai: How exciting, a Parshendi pov for the first time! So the Parshmen are really Parshendi in slaveform. My guess is that Shen will change form at some point! What form did the Parshendi wear when they interacted with the humans in the prologue and before that? Ha! I knew it! Urithiru was on the Shattered Plains! Can't wait for more Eshonai pov. I feel like I learned so much! -

LOL Aww, thank you so much!! SA2 ch12, Kaladin: Yay for Kaladin practicing his Stormlight abilities with the others! I was a little disappointed that he hasn't learned to fly yet, but I should have known it would be a while. Meanwhile Amaram shows up. When someone informed Dalinar of this in the last Dalinar chapter, I had no idea who it was, but as soon as that one guard told Kaladin in this chapter that a 'hero' had arrived, I knew who it was. I hope Kaladin will tell Dalinar the truth about Amaram, but knowing Kaladin's reluctance to confide in Dalinar, he might not. Still, I look forward to seeing Amaram's reaction to seeing Kaladin. This marks the end of part 1, and next up are interludes, but this time... no Szeth I want Szeth! I wonder if he will arrive on the Shattered Plains before or after Shallan. My guess is... simultaneously? Just because that would be kind of cool. Though maybe it would be overkill, you know, we need to spread the exciting bits evenly throughout the book, haha. -

SA2 ch11, Shallan: Very cool that the santhid rescued Shallan. Also cool that she was picked up by the same slaver who sold Kaladin to Sadeas. Shallan is trying to be Jasnah, which I guess is part of her journey for self discovery, but I look forward to when she figures out who she is rather than directly trying to copy someone else. Although she failed at soulcasting this time, I feel like her skills are developing. The ability to go into Shadesmar only halfway is sure to be super handy. My rep says I'm an envisager. I don't think I know what that is. -

Thank you, and I look forward to this ride!! I got a little distracted reading Alcatraz 6, but now back to Kaladin. SA2, ch9: I like the idea of going down to train in the chasms being like an initiation. Sounds like Syl is pushing Kaladin to reveal his powers to Dalinar. I hope he does, because I can't wait to see Dalinar's reaction! Most importantly, Kaladin and Sigzil are finally going to do their experimentation!... and then the chapter ends. Of course.
