  1. But it is Ulaam in TatES and not Ulaan, so it's presumably the same Kandra
  2. I think it's all Elantrian stuff, but because our only written accounts of Elantrian magic are from the Shaod, where Elantrian magic was practically nonexistent we're probably relatively ignorant about what its true power is. But even there we see Raoden do some really powerful stuff, like teleporting hundreds of miles. And we see the IRE make a device that can forge a Connection to a Shard. All in all Elantrian magic seems very powerful indeed
  3. I think it does, but without any kind of explicitly given name, it's hard to classify it under the Known Oceans
  4. Glad to have you reading again! it's been fun seeing the book through a first timer's eyes
  5. He was super drunk at Gavilar's feast because he was still depressed after his wife died, he hadn't yet gotten rid of his memories.
  6. The investiture to power the Surges needs to come from somewhere, if this were the case where would it come from?
  7. Happy birthday!

Still a few hours early for me here but regardless thanks!

  8. During the last secret project livestream Brandon said that all 3 take place in the future of the Cosmere (with the present being approximately Stormlight 5 and Mistborn Era 2). But I think he also said that SP#4 was approximately when Era 4/Sixth of the Dusk is, so that's probably the latest, and the other two are in between now and then
  9. Welcome! What's your favorite Cosmere book and favorite Cosmere Character?
  10. But he's not looking for the words to become a Radiant, he's looking for the words to become a Herald, could just be very different words
  11. So if it's not the Stormfather, then how did Gavilar get the visions? Did someone else have access to them?
  12. You're not wrong, it just feels so final (although you can still edit after submitting). But welcome to the Shard!
  13. Is the Stormlight Archive necessarily in world? All the book titles are book titles in world but I don't think that has to mean the title of the series is as well
  14. I mean the Rosharans do consider Cognitive Shadows essentially spren, in fact I think some of the Heralds are referred to as at least spren-like. It's just like all the magic systems are all surge binding. Although his having seen more of the cosmere may have disabused him of that notion too. But it also doesn't really seem like Yelig-nar. Like sure he's "in control" but like Sig can still do what he wants, and can even leave Aux behind. Plus bonding Yelig-nar seems risky at best
  15. Stormlight certainly does ask a lot of its readers pretty quickly but the journey is worth it
