Yeah, this thought experiment is a bit much.... because of how much of a dead end it leads to. I'd think for the sake of logic and storytelling, Ruin would want cycles of growth to eventually ruin, but the plan from the getgo was to create life so Ruin could destroy ALL life and not do cycles. Unless this hypothetical changes what we know about the shard's intent or maybe if there was a different vessel we could stipulate that'd change the outcome, I got nothing.

He doesn't have to go. I think he has to stick around to prove the thesis of the series. Furthermore, I can think of a few storylines where I actually think you NEED Moash. I could easily see him being the big bad of the back half of the stormlight archive. I don't think so. I think there's been plenty of set up of finding a way to restore deadeyes and the mystery surrounding the causation of the deadeyes. Adolin is the best vehicle to explore that idea because he's spent so much time with Maya and Maya is the closest character we have to do that. _______________________________________ I think Kaladin and Shallan are VERY safe storywise. Kaladin has spent so much pagespace wanting to die and do a heroic sacrifice. I think Brandon could write him out of the story but I don't think he's going to die. Adolin would be an incredible disserve to get rid of so I hope Brandon doesn't.

I don't think it would be that tough. Especially if you're delusional + memory degrades over time. There's even cases where the power of suggestion can completely change someone's memory. I think as coppermind technology progresses on Scandrial, and as the people on Scadrial learn more about psychology, that's going to be used. A beat I think could be used, is, dude puts a memory of an incident in the coppermind. They might visualize it and imagine it over and over. Then person reads and hears stories about the incident, by the time they take the memory back into their brain, would those impressions contaminate the memory? Would it cleanly overwrite it? That'd be a cool noir story. I could see Brandon writing a story beat where someone with a crazy amount of affirmations completely warps the memory before putting back into a coppermind.

I've recently beaten Life is Strange 1, Earthbound and I'm wrapping up the last case on Phoenix Wright 1. I think the next game I'm going to beat is Omori.

I don't think I was that surprised to find out he was Mormon. The only thing that really surprises me is when his books get surprisingly horny which I don't expect from a Mormon writer. Like any scene with Blushweaver.

House of Dragon S2- really good stuff! The Boys just finished its fourth season finale. A bit meandering this season but I love the shocking stuff they always put in into the show. My adventures with superman - really cute show and its a refreshing optimistic take on Supe.

I think that would be OK in the short/medium term. I'm not sure what OP intended, but if we care about "appearances" would that just be on a book basis or would we want to be specific and catalogue the chapter appearances?

Eh, I don't think Harry Potter is overrated, they're really good mystery books. However I'm kinda irritated on the STRANGLEHOLD they have on millennial culture. Also one time I was meeting up with some high school friends, and I noticed they had these tattoos that looked like the AA symbol. So I thought they struggled with alcoholism in the interim period since i last saw them. I did this whole speech where I said I'm glad they're getting help and got on the right path. Made myself look like an IDIOT because it wasnt the AA symbol but the deathly hallow symbol. Apparently deathly hallow symbols are INCREDIBLY popular so I watch out for those. LOTR..... I can't say its overrated because its such an influential part of the fantasy genre but I think it's mad boring. Maybe my attention span isnt the greatest or its a product of the time, but I don't like it. Probably not overrated.

There was a lot of shortcomings with 3, and what my expectation for it was for the franchise, but man Future Redeemed is everything i wanted and more. I know im a year late zurvan but that *that* area was insane.

I think Spider-man 2.... something that always kinda irritates me in media and specially like shonen, is the "Don't give wup on your dreams!" "never give up!" but sometimes you should give up on your dreams because other stuff is more important. I don't know how to explain it..... sometimes in media and stories we have contradictory messages/morals. Like should you live every day like its your last or do you need to be responsible and think long term. Does what other people think matter or is that impression/connection important? And the "never give up on your dreams" think is never really explored/interrogated enough. Like.... if you don't give up on a relationship when the other person isn't into you, that is stalkerish and is going to make you miserable and you're going to make people uncomfortable. Sorry for the rant but yeah that kind of contrast is really interesting to indecisive me.

I would like that approach. Because adapting stuff can be messy, but if you had something that took place in the same universe and complimented the canon. I think thats really cool. Kinda like the Fallout TV show. Instead of adapting one game or a buncha stories from the game, it takes place in the same universe.

Not exactly this but it hits the same vein I think. For some reason if I'm on my phone/my computer, they bother me and want me to do stuff, but if I watch TV they don't.

Do you want to get into in-person DND or online virtual tabletop DND? For the latter there are plenty of discords and subreddits you could join and find a group that meshes with your personality + playstyle. For in-person, that's going to require some networking. The best way I think, is to go to your local game store, and see if they have a tabletop night or a facebook group to find party members. Best of luck!

Huh, reading this made me have a consideration. I didn't really think Honor and Cultivation meshed well as compliments/opposites like Ruin and Preservation, but after reading this thread there's some complimentary/antagonistic stuff. Like Cultivation I imagine is always changing, but I think of Honor as something you do to be rigid so you don't do something or you hold yourself up to a better ideal. There's that quote from I think Way of Kings I can't find right now, where I think Dalinar says having a code doesn't benefit you. It restricts you so you don't do awful things or become evil. So Cultivation your power grows but you have these thresholds you have to access stuff through your honor to your cause.

Eh, I'm not sure if I care to think of how it will end because, at the time writing this I don't really see the Cosmere as 1 story, I see it as a setting. Maybe that will change with Mistborn Era 4. I wouldn't mind it keep going as a franchise after Brandon is finished writing, as long as when he's done its a good off-ramp for dedicated readers. I read a lot of comics so that doesn't phase me, but I know there are people that love definitive endings.

It's interesting because I always just thought of the whole spirit web thing as a way of Brandon dealing with disability politics. But the stuff you guys are suggesting is kinda like rewriting identity like in Forgery.

I loved this book. It was kinda surreal/dream to see what a finally merged/consolidated Cosmere would be like. One thing I loved was the villain, is that it kinda plays with the trope where a smart villain or a villain who think he's smart is able to deduce a bunch of outrageous facts. The villain thinks he's that guy but he's not, lol. I was hoping I could deduce what happens with SA5 but apparently it takes place after SA10.

What the hell exactly is a Truthless. And yeah knowing what the recurrence is about would be cool. Actually I think the most puzzling mystery to me in the entire series is how they'd let Szeth carry an honorblade. He's this awful untrustworthy dude, he slurps his soup and puts his elbows on the table...... yet they let him take an Honorblade? Which is not only a shardblade but gives them access to surges and is one of eight in the Shin's possession?? Insane.
