It does seem like the Shadesmar locations can be linked to many of the Orders in some way: Windrunners & Skybreakers near the Expanse of the Broken Sky - because they can "fly" Releasers / Dustbringers & Edgedancers near the Expanse of Vapors - because... well, Dustbringers can blow things up, vaporize them, but the Edgedancers don't quite fit, not as far as we know Truthwatchers inside the Sea of Souls, near the Nexus of Imagination - because they tend to be introverted (looking-inward, soul-searching, etc) and can "imagine" the future Lightweavers & Elsecallers touch the Sea of Regret - but that doesn't really mean anything, except in Shallan's unique case. If anything, Lightweavers should've been right in the middle of the Nexus of Truth Willshapers & Elsecallers are nowhere near the Nexus of Transition, which they should've been Willshapers & Stonewards are on top of the Nexus of Truth, and while I can kind of maybe see the Willshapers there, the Stonewards have no business there Stonewards, however, are near the Expanse of Densities, which sounds about right; but here the Willshapers have nothing to do Finally, the Bondsmiths are kind of nowhere - which, if we pretend they are not near anything (when in fact they are between the Sea of Souls and the Nexus of Transition), is kind of neat because their powers are kind of weird in the first place So... I call coincidences.

I always assumed Pattern distracted Relis around that time, giving Kaladin the few extra seconds he needed to get there. This being said, I still don't think Truthwatchers can affect time. The Progression surge does seem deal with the time dimension, but the Illumination one doesn't affect things directly, it creates illusions. So Renarin might be able to change the way how somebody perceives time (e.g. make it feel like minutes have passed, when in fact it had been hours), but I don't think he can actually affect the flow of time.

If it makes you feel better, I've spent so many hours trying to decipher those - and other - glyphs, I probably know the location of every glyph in the books.

Link's easy enough, they are right here. The problem is producing something clear enough out of the small and / or blurry glyphpairs. If you do decide to try to mess with them, keep in mind that the ones above the compass are flipped upside-down.

Except we haven't seen metal being infused, only gems.

(weird theory) All Iriali are descendants of worldhoppers
Argent replied to RadiantNights's topic in Stormlight Archive
There is something weird about the Iriali, but I don't think it's quite like that. Interestingly, Roshar is the fourth Shardworld we get to explore (after Sel, Scadrial, and Nalthis). -
We don't know that 10 spren came from Shadesmar - and the Stormfather only forbade the honorspren from traveling through, he doesn't seem to have any influence over the other types of spren (Wyndle, for example, was commanded by a group known as the Ring). We don't know how many Bondsmith spren are out there either, or what those spren are - it's possible that all Bondsmiths bond with the Stormfather (though I don't believe that, personally). Discussed.

On a mild aside, I'd be curious to see how clear you can make the Highprinces' glyphs.

Things about Voidbringers I found interesting (spoilers)
Argent replied to Arin's topic in Stormlight Archive
Well, we haven't seen any Voidbringers, other than maybe the listeners' stormform. The Way of Kings prelude and Dalinar's visions only show the aftermath of the Desolations. -
I assumed, rather casually, that they are the Unmade. One per Rhythm. But I assume a lot of things about the Unmade...

Things about Voidbringers I found interesting (spoilers)
Argent replied to Arin's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think even if we agree that the Voidbringers are just voidspren (spren from Odium), the fact that they need a vessel to affect the physical world, and that the listeners are such a good vessel makes the difference mostly a semantic one. Because the people who came up with the term "Voidbringer" probably never had to deal with the real Voidbringers, the voidspren, directly - they encountered them mostly in the symbiotic form, and interacted with them only through that form. So while "a listener vessel inhabited by a voidspren" might be a less accurate definition, it is the one people (on Roshar) would be familiar with. -
The Intention Behind the Shattering of Adonalsium

@Kobold King, you could rewrite your spoiler with a less specific / outside-the-book example and it will work just as well, but might reach more people.- 14 replies

I saw the second one somewhere a while back, but they are all absolutely amazing (both the photos and the miscloaks)! Next step, Vasher's own Awakened clothes?

Things about Voidbringers I found interesting (spoilers)
Argent replied to Arin's topic in Stormlight Archive
Pattern might agree with you. When one of the scholars assigned to Shallan during the march to Narak voices her suspicion that Pattern might be a Voidbringer, he gets offended and claims that Voidbringers "have no symmetry". Considering his own perfect symmetry, the statement could imply that the Voidbringers are spren (the way Cryptics are), but unnatural ones (i.e. of Odium). -

The Intention Behind the Shattering of Adonalsium
Argent replied to MistLord's topic in Cosmere Discussion
It is solid, I am not sure if it's solid enough - we know only about half of the Shards as of today. I agree that Odium is a little different from the others - he is pretty aggressive, Hoid calls him "the most dangerous" of the Shards, and it sounds like Reyse was a pretty nasty dude even before he drank the hatorade. But I am not sure that's enough to make a claim as bold as yours. Neither am I sure Odium is as special as you consider him - hatred is not exclusively negative and destructive, it's a very efficient motivator as well.- 14 replies

The Intention Behind the Shattering of Adonalsium
Argent replied to MistLord's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Adonalsium was not a collection of the 16 Shards - not the way Harmony is the sum of Preservation and Ruin. Because it could've been Shattered into a different set of Shards (different number, different Intents), it looks like it was a much indivisible, much like I and you are not just a collection of our Devotion, sense of Preservation, desire to Change (Ruin), code of Honor, Hatred, and so on.- 14 replies
