  1. If nothing else, its well established that a cognitive aspect will always develop over time. Vasher is an old, old dude, and he's had Nightblood since before we first met him. Both Nightblood and their creator have thought about them for more than a long enough time for one to develop, even if it didn't initially exist. Though personally, I imagine Nightblood's cognitive aspect has existed since it's creation. Nightblood is conscious, if not the sharpest tool in the shed.
  2. Ooooook. That's not where my mind was at. That also would be wild for a lot of reasons. No matter what, there is a bunch of stuff going on with Lift, and I'm excited to speculate on all of it.
  3. So, that would mean the different bondsmiths share a different surge of the ten orders, but not the same as each other? If Navani has a different second surge than Dalinar in SA 5, that would confirm this to me.
  4. “Now, now,” he said. “I’m going to help you, Eshonai. Did you know, I’ve discovered how to bring your gods back?” No. She hummed to the Rhythm of the Terrors. No . . . “My ancestors,” he said, holding up the fabrial, “first learned how to hold a spren inside a gemstone. And with a very special gemstone, you can hold even a god.” “Your Majesty,” she said, daring to take his hand in hers. He couldn’t feel the rhythms. He didn’t know. “Please. We no longer worship those gods. We left them, abandoned them.” “Ah, but this is for your good, and for ours.” He stood up. “We live without honor, for your gods once brought ours. Without them, we have no power. This world is trapped, Eshonai! Stuck in a dull, lifeless state of transition.” He looked toward the ceiling. “Unite them. I need a threat. Only danger will unite them.” -From Oathbringer Prologue I am still pretty new here, but I have to start somewhere. I'm going back through the SA and came across this line of Gavilar's about trapping a god. He could simply referring to the unmade, but they've already been trapped before, and Gavilar isn't alone in his knowledge of this. But, Odium put out a hit on Gavilar. So, was he trying to trap Odium in a perfect gemstone? That would physically trap Odium and remove him from the board of the Cosmere. That to me, seems like a big enough threat to have a god want to have you killed Immediately. Thoughts?
  5. I know this is a very old post, so I don't know if anyone will even see it. But, that said, in Ch 38 of Way of Kings, when Teft first feeds Kaladin stormlight..Sanderson describes the stormlight coming off of Kaladin's skin as white. Then his eyes snap open, and they leak light too, with a "faint amber (yellow) cast." So this issue with his eyes has been around from WoKs. And what about his eyes would cause the investiture leaking out of them to be yellow, but the investiture coming out of the rest of his body to be white?
  6. Hi everybody, I'm Johnny. I've been poking around on here for years, reading, but I never felt like I had much to contribute. Today, I had a thought that I needed to share/get feedback on in real time. So, here I am. Thanks to everyone who's helped me sort my own thoughts on the Cosmere over the years, It's literally helped me stay sane.
