Hey all, I just wanted to remind everyone of two things here on the forums: 1) Let's keep things appropriate please. There are people as young as 13 on the forums, and we want the Shard to be a safe and comfortable environment for everyone. 2) Sometimes jokes can unknowingly go over the line, but if people are uncomfortable and asking you to stop, you stop. Sorry for the late response, but: 1.) Can't know for sure, but the signed/numbered book bundle (with swag related to the book) will probably be $80ish, if I remember correctly from Wind and Truth. But you'll also be able to purchase just the book by itself (though likely not signed/numbered) at the con. (For the normal price) But how much you spend on merch otherwise is up to you. Personally I ended up wanting to spend a lot, just because there were a ton of exhibitors who had stuff I found cool (especially artwork), but that varies person to person. 2) Yep it's chaotic, but you should be able to see the things you want to see, as long as there's not scheduling conflicts. It's crowded, but not so much you can't get around 3) Pretty much everything is free, I didn't pay for anything other than my badge/swag, and I did everything I wanted and had a great time. The only big thing that I can think of that costs extra money is the Worldhopper Ball (which I didn't attend, but which I heard was awesome), but that's fully optional. 4) You may have seen Brandon's weekly updates recently, but there won't be VIP tickets this year, just general admission 5) I'd say so - I've brought my roomate one year and my brother another year - neither were super crazy into the books like me, but both had a good time. There's several panels, activities, and things to buy that aren't even specific to Brandon's books. And for me at least, the most fun part of the con is just hanging out with other nerds

Hey forum users, we have an important announcement for you! Ten days from now, on June 6, the spoiler period for Wind and Truth will end on both the forums and discord. This means that full Wind and Truth spoilers will be allowed (outside of spoiler boxes) in the Cosmere Q&A, Cosmere Discussion, and Stormlight Archive subforums. In addition, all posts that are in the Wind and Truth (Stormlight Only) spoiler board and Wind and Truth (Cosmere spoilers) spoiler board will be moved to the Stormlight Archive and Cosmere Discussion subforums, respectively. Wind and Truth spoilers will still need to be put inside spoiler boxes everywhere else. -

Hey all, how’s everyone been doing the last week?

Part of it just comes from practice. You’ll get faster the more you do. Please don’t screw uourself over by using AI and problem solvers. You need to learn this stuff well, because you’ll use it on every standardized test and future chem and math class. It ain’t gonna go away, and you need to be able to do them quickly and on your own, without AI. I can’t stress that enough

Finished my last final, so I'm done with freshman year of college! I'm gonna be taking the next week or so off from the forums to take a break. Remember to drink lots of water and take care of your sleep!

Definitely, we have the high ground -
I don't mean asking him to teach, just asking him about getting a tutor. Usually it's been many years since our parents have done algebra, so they ain't always the best teachers lol. But often there are students who have done it a lot more recently (or currently use it in their more advanced class) who can teach it a lot better
