  1. "interesting..." He rubbed his chin. "I can potentially assist you in severing Emma from the Kaos. We can use these rules to our advantages, probably..."
  2. Thaidakar blinked, "Well, there's my point. I don't know everything about how it works. On the point of being more powerful, that's why I suggested getting someone else to assist. Perhaps for that I could assist with the powers that are granted to me by the Entity that seems to want me as their champion. Calano, you could also be hampered in your severing by the fact that you do not want to harm Emma, so therefore on the event of Emma somehow convincing you to do otherwise, someone else can assist you to do what needs to be done, for Emma's and the universe's good." He continued to pace back and forth, "The theory is quite interesting to me..."
  3. The scholarly soulless smiled softly, adjusting his glasses again more out of habit than anything, "I'm glad I could help. Now... the other drifting ones should arrive soon." Thaidakar smoothed his robe as the power swirled in his head. If the power had its way, Calano would be dead and Thaidakar would be killing everyone in his path. Luckily, he was able to hold himself back from being consumed by the power. There was a faint buzzing nearby and Thaidakar muttered a curse. Glyph... He shook his head slowly, turning to the small pattern on the ground and muttered, "Of course you're here..."
  4. "I'm sure that Nameless and Rue can tell you more than I ever could, I only having spent a little time on that world, but... on Aes Sedai women who were gentled, they had to find a purpose to keep living after being removed from the power. However, as Emma isn't naturally a Kaos user, there shouldn't be too much of an effect. It's really just shoving a weave in-between the power and the user. Blocking the flow of the river, really." Thaidakar kept pacing, thoughts flowing. "I don't know too many specifics besides what I've told you. Perhaps I could lend Callandor to Nameless and he could assist you with it. Potentially, I could use it too, but it would be safer for someone more practiced to use it." A smile quirked on his face as he thought of Rue and Nameless. Thaidakar grinned, "That's spectacular. So it can work-" Thaidakar looked surprised, adjusting his glasses before hugging Calano back, "Anytime, my friend, anytime..."
  5. "Calano, with your powers as Creator, you could potentially form a wedge with your powers. Let me explain it like this, do you know the world of the series, the Wheel of Time? There is a method there called Gentling which forms a barrier in-between the Aes Sedai and the One Power. In a method similar to that, you can perhaps form a barrier in Emma's mind from touching Kaos." Thaidakar was pacing back and forth now. "Calano, we can test this theory with one of the Corrupted. Someone else that's been corrupted by Kaos, but isn't as dangerous as Emma. If it can work, it is one of our best opportunities to defeat Emma without harming her, which I'm sure you greatly appreciate."
  6. Thaidakar nodded, a faint smile on his face. "Calano, there is... another thing. Perhaps, just perhaps, there is a way to sever her from her bond to the Kaos. A gentling, you could say. A shield in the way of another bond being made. It wouldn't damage Emma, I'd think." A shadow nearby flickered. Or, Shadow nearby flickered in shadow form. The being had been watching the entire time. It was soon to reveal itself... and reveal the threat that would come once Kaos was defeated.
  7. Well, dang it. I'm not gonna be reading Wheel of Time anymore...

    Forgive me.

I loved the Wheel of Time, but I gotta quit.

As someone I know said, "The icecream is pretty good, except for that cockroach in it..."

The cockroach being that one glaring chapter in TFoH and a bunch of things here and there in the whole series.

    So, therefore, I quit.

I wanted to love Wheel of Time, I still do, in fact. But... I can't continue. I wish I could, but I cannot.

Blood and Bloody Ashes, I so wanted to continue.

Well, Light, I guess that means I have more time to read Count of Monte Christo, God Emperor of Dune, Scythe and the Inheritance Cycle. Onward to books!

The Inheritance Cycle is... pretty good, I guess. I thought Eragon (book 1) was the best, as it got to be too much for me in the ending books. I took about a year off from it, then read the final book. But I also might have to quit WoT if it gets too bad. I'll be sad, but there are some books that you're just not comfortable with, and that's that. Have fun with your other books!

Yeah, Inheritance Cycle's gonna be fun. I started Eragon a bit before and have been reading it on and off. I started God Emperor of Dune. I'll get to Eragon eventually.

it gets really violent, but it's pretty good.

  8. Thaidakar walked towards Calano and sat down beside him, "I have an idea, my friend... What if you trapped Emma? Not destroyed, but captured? The same way with the Thrill in Oathbringer?"
  9. this vid about the wheel of time is so funny

    1. Frustration

      Frustration

I'm still laughing over "What language do your trees speak?"

Tolkien was just on another level.

  10. Thaidakar grinned, "That, my friend, is just what we need. For other things, do you know if you can defeat Emma herself?"
  11. "That would be good to help us deal with Emma's lackies." Thaidakar continued pacing. "Are there any plans by the previous Creator you can find, Calano?"
  12. Thaidakar burst awake, his form becoming solid again, "Calano, thank you. There are five Soulless who will join us initially, a few more should come, one more guaranteed." Thaidakar stood up, pacing around. "The war is beginning... have any of you come up with a plan?" Thaidakar asked the group. "The Soulless will be a great asset, however they are not a guaranteed win on our part. Calano being the Creator is fantastic to our chances of winning. Calano, do you think you can make a bunch of troops using your Creator powers?" Thaidakar asked.
  13. Earth/Thaidakar's Mind Thaidakar reached in his own mind for the connection to the Void Outside. He touched it, tugging on the connection. Thaidakar's body to everyone else would blur more. Thaidakar tightened his grip on the connection, reaching out through it to the Void Outside, attempting to manifest his cognitive aspect in the Void Outside. He concentrated, reaching with his entire being. Finally, he managed to get to the Void Outside through the connection. The Void Outside In the Void Outside, all was dark. Well, all except for the occasional flicker of power. Oh, and the traveling specks. Also the faint places where one could travel from the Void to the other realms. But, besides those, the Void Outside was completely dark, its only denizens being Soulless and whatever poor person happened to stumble in. There was a quick red flash and a vapory version of Thaidakar appeared in the Void outside. As soon as he appeared, the attention of at least ten Soulless were on him. Thaidakar made the proper greeting, "I, Soulless Thaidakar, have returned from the inside. I greet you, Soulless of the Void Outside. May the Void grant you protection and give you rest in drifting." Ten voices repeated it. The voices varied, but they all had the familiar rhythm of the soulless. Ten forms seemed to shape nearby, of many different species and races. One of them, a sort of snakelike creature, said in an ancient voice, "You have returned to us, Soulless Thaidakar. After all these years... You-" Another Soulless cut the Snakelike Soulless off. Thaidakar turned, looking at the tall Soulless. She said, "What do you want, Soul-lover. Thaidakar, you never come unless you need something of us. What do you want of us?" "Hasty," said the Ancient Soulless. "It is not our way to be hasty." "No, you mean it is not your way to be hasty, Soulless Quwan," said another Soulless. "Others among us are very different. You are only one of the Drifting among many." Drifting was another word they used for themselves. "Kaos has come." Thaidakar said quietly. The words seemed to echo around them. "Calano, the Creator, needs help to take back the Insanity Clinic." Silence permeated the group of Soulless, more of them forming nearby to listen better. Finally, the soulless that had cut off Quwan said, "Why should we help the Insanity Clinic. Besides, how do we really know that this Calano is the Creator." "Let me show you," Thaidakar tapped the ethereal representation of his watch on his wrist. A buzzing came from the gadget, until an image seemed to fly from it, floating direct above Thaidakar. It showed Calano, filled with power, talking to Thaidakar. "The Creator has returned, you Soulless." Quwan mused, "I see... The Creator calls us..." "Will you join us?" Thaidakar asked. "It could greatly benefit-" "It will?" one of them asked. "Tell me, Thaidakar, what reason do we have to help the Creator, much less the Clinic Realm." "Calano will let us have a more permanent residence in the Clinic," Thaidakar said confidently. Or, Thaidakar would convince Calano do do that. "What about the other realms, Soulless Thaidakar," asked another Soulless that Thaidakar had seen once or twice around the Void Outside in years long past. "The Clinic will be a start," Thaidakar said. "With the Creator to help us, we can build more!" The Soulless mused on that. Finally, one spoke up. "I will join you. I will help the Creator." And then another said it. And another. And another. Six of the Soulless, not including Quwan, had joined. Thaidakar listed off their names in his head. Salan, Viren, Katan, Evl, Xaxius and Aelfar. Excellent! "And the rest of you won't join?" Thaidakar asked. "Things could be exceedingly better for us with the Creator's help." "No," Quwan shook his head. "I will not join in the fight." "I will stay behind," interrupted Salan, one of the Soulless who had joined Thaidakar, "I will spread the word to the other Drifting." Thaidakar nodded, "Good!" "Where shall we meet?" asked Aelfar, a brash Soulless, but a good help. "Earth," said Thaidakar. "Salan, send all the Soulless who agree to Earth. I'll contact you if that need be changed." Salan nodded. The other Soulless left swiftly and Thaidakar nodded. "The rest of you, besides Salan, come to Earth as soon as possible." They nodded, "Good. But, remember Thaidakar, you are not our leader." "Yes. I know and accept that. May the Void Outside grant you rest." They repeated the last one. And... Thaidakar began to wake up.
  14. I am the green ghost blood cat.
  15. "Alright. Tap me on the shoulder and say, Aristotle's second toenail on the right and I'll be back." Thaidakar sat down on the ground. He muttered a few things, tapping his watch a few times. His eyes seemed to roll into the back of his head like fleshy marbles. His body seems to glitch a bit, an odd glow surrounding him.
  16. Thaidakar smiled slightly, "I'm on your side, aren't I? I'm a Soulless... besides, I think I can convinced a few of them I've known. it could be risky, however."
  17. "Calano, I can, potentially, get us some allies at a risk. Other Soulless."
  18. "Not less, not less. I expected something grand, and that is what it was." Thaidakar smiled softly. "The plan was to contact some people, I think."
  19. As Grand Stick, the offering is an offering of cookies or otherwise enhanced desserts to the sticks. Either that or a bunch of sticks.
  20. Thaidakar smiled sadly, "The Creator... you always aimed high, friend." Thaidakar checked his watch. "Almost time."
  21. I finished the shadow rising.

I liked it, I really liked it. Well, except for one or two scenes with, um, lack thereof of clothing of a character or two. Specifically that one dream- that was so weird. If that scene wasn't in the book, I'd like it a lot more.

I'm gonna wait a day or so before starting Fires of Heaven.

We'll see if I end up going into the book.

  22. "It is time, then..." Thaidakar almost laughed. "It's almost over."
