Your bane is that your processing speed stays the same

I hadn’t clued into that myself, but I’m guessing RedBlue gave the answer above:
You’ve still got maybe 1,000 to 2,000 3rd ideals at the very least judging by how quickly there were so many Windrunners
And only 60 Shards

CONSIDERABLE speculation.
I freely admit I'm still not clear on how the "deadeye in Shadesmar vs Blade in Physical" idea is supposed to work. Isn't it one or the other, but not both? In other words, an unbonded Shardblade, hidden somewhere in the Physical Realm, cannot ALSO be a deadeye wandering Shadesmar. Am I confused?
That is correct
But when the bond was broken all Blades could not be dismissed without gemstones so how would there be so many deadeyes?
But it seems from Shallan that if you break an Oath while the blade is dismissed it stays dismissed which may explain the vast majority of all the BladesBut we are still missing 100 or so at the very best

The point of Splintering is to stop the Power from gaining sentience. As Frustration said it’s still in the SR just unable to become sentient
And if it was an Invested Gemstone the plant life would be much more interesting I’d think

I don't think this is the case. I would say that we do get a predominance of blades in actuality but an equal number in people's memory. I have few reasons to support this:
- Plate sticks out more inherently because it can't go away like blades do.
- It's easier to get a blade once you have plate (see Dalinar).
- People with Plate and Blade are at the forefront of things so they get talked about more.
- Under certain circumstances there's an advantage to keeping the fact that you have a blade hidden.
Let’s put it this way
In Feverstone Keep, where a small contingent of Radients broke their oaths, there were more blades there than known to exist in the entirety of Roshar (Alethkar has around 25 and they have the most)
Now every single Radiant broke their oaths, supposedly. That would equate to 9/10 of blades being hidden, which doesn’t make a lot of sense seing as you can make a lot of money from selling a blade and you would think it would have been done in the past 2000 years, and from Taln (I think) we see it’s very very uncommon for a new blade to be found

I accept the WOB. But I have never seen any indictation that Kandra don't have blood, do you have any evidence to that wise?
From the description we get from Mistwraiths I assumed there was no blood. Also True bodies don’t seem to have any either

Who said anything about who TOD picking someone who wants to lose
Well that was the OP was going on and general assumption is always what the OP says
And what are you basing on that Odium can’t either manipulate Connections himself or stop Connection manipulation. Honor is the Shard of Oaths not Spirtual Connections

Taln became sane again when Dalinar swore an Oath, not unlike Ishar and Navani. I can easily see Dalinar swearing an Ideal during the Contest (depending on the moral dilemma the Contest itself has in store for him - which is why Odium's Champion being someone that causes a moral dilemma to Dalinar matters), and having that bring enough sanity to Taln to do what needs to be done for the sake of Honor and humanity.
Why would TOD let this happen? Why pick someone who wants to lose and won’t try to win over literally anyone else
3 minutes ago, Harrycrapper said:Interestingly, if the champion is a Herald and that child epigraph really does pertain to the contest of champions, then technically anyone who isn't a Herald or a Fused would be a child from the Herald's perspective.
I don’t see Taln as a man that would be conflicted in killing for the greater good. If killing Dalinar meant saving Roshar he would do it in a heartbeat, at least that’s my read of him. And the DR connotates conflict

I know there are lots of threads about who will be Odium's champion and apologies if this has been covered, i did a quick search and someone briefly mentioned Taln, as Odium could take away his pain.
I was struck towards the end of the RoW when they are fighting Ishar how impressed Dalinar is with his fighting skill "he is a duelist" Dalinar thought. "storms, and a good one" and the Storm Father told him "Among the Heralds, Ishar was average in skill"
"He is average among them?" Dalinar asked. "Then ..... who was the best?"
"Taln," is the Storm Fathers response and he later states "there is no dispute"
So my theory is either ToDium learns this info and is will to remove his pain if he fights for him- pretty standard- or Kalidan helps him recover and Dalinar believing he has an unbeatable champion names him and leaves himself open to being Odium's champion. Then the belief he would be Odiums champion comes to be.
Either way it would be great to have the best duelist of all time in the fight
Thoughts???- please be kind.
The pain is not the only problem with Taln, he is also completely insane magically. And even if it would work why would he do it? He has expressed that he cares about humanity and I doubt he would fight against them to become a brainless drone

Why would his eyes be empty without the marbles? He wasn’t killed with a Shardblade. And he still had his own eyes when he died. From the RoW prologue:
QuoteMeant the sightless dead eyes he would have. I should have been more clear

Why did the Soulcaster refer to his eyes as the only part of him that was true?
Eyes are “The windows into the soul.” And it would make sense to not want to disgrace the king by having his eyes be empty, but for them to be as majestic as he was even in death.
