Yeah, but in BoM one of the arguments made against the Bands of Mourning even being Unsealed Metalminds was why the Lord Ruler would have wanted such a thing. My post wasn't so much about it really being a relevant thing anymore, more a possibility that would have been fun to consider.

Suppose that's possibly true. Marsh always was the better brother, as it was said. But Kelsier still can't get off world currently, which limits my ability to believe that it's him doing it.

Boosting a non-shardic world's manifestations of investiture?
Trusk'our replied to Trusk'our's question in Cosmere Q&A
But that is only a temporary enhancement that likely cannot be passed down to future generations. -
Naw, he doesn't even need to pirate Doctor Strange's cloak; he just needs to Awaken his mistcloak

I don't think that they'd even need to stab themselves, they'd just need to sit or stand in such a position that they could hold the reed where it would normally be for spanreed communication, then quickly stab in the direction of the seat they'd normally be sitting in to get the other person. Also, you could have someone with great arm strength stab with the reed...or just use shardplate

Filling Gemstones with a Perpendicularitiy's power?
Trusk'our replied to Trusk'our's question in Cosmere Q&A
Well, I mean not Honor's perpendicularity. A different one, like the one on Patji. -
During the time of the Final Empire, not all of the metals, or even all of the powers of the known metals, had been discovered yet. But now in Scadrial’s modern era such things have been discovered. So, would Marsh want to get his hands on these powers? For instance, if there was a Slider Misting who’s continued existence he. . . disagreed with, would he also be willing to use Hemalurgy to get their power as well? What about gaining access to other magic systems? Would he be bound to Scadrial like his brother, or like with Mistings and probably Ferrings, would he be free to leave? This WoB seems to say that Allomancy can be taken off world without too much difficulty, but what about Hemalurgy? In fact, there is a WoB that says that someone is going around the Cosmere and collecting magics via Hemalurgy. Could that be Marsh? So, I guess I've got a few questions here, really.

I believe that there is a WoB states that one of the reasons the Returned feed on the Breaths of children rather than older people is so that they have more vitality from that Breath (I couldn't find it, I'm sorry). Theoretically, could a Returned consume more investiture than was just necessary for their survival, and somehow be expanded in their power by doing so? I don’t mean by collecting more Breaths on top of their Divine Breath, but if they actually “ate” the extra investiture. Would this be similar to larkin, and how they seem to grow after consuming large quantities of investiture?
-
Pretty simple question here; could you use raysium to fill a gemstone with investiture from a perpendicularity? Seems like you'd have a lot of portable, easy to access investiture if you could, especially if you're not on Roshar.

In OB we see Queen Fen write to Dalinar’s offer for an alliance personally. Wouldn’t this be a risk to her safety though, as someone on the Alethi side of the spanreed could attempt to stab her with her own spanreed by connecting it to their own? I honestly hadn’t considered this before, but wouldn’t spanreeds be potentially dangerous, since you could probably impale someone hundreds of miles away with it?

The standard method of feeding the Returned is to give them Breaths, but those are expensive and can be used for other purposes, such as gaining the heightenings. What are some other ways to feed Returned? Here are some I came up with: granting them Allomancy so they can feed on Preservation’s investiture, granting them access to Feruchemy so they can feed off their own efforts, giving them an Unsealed Metalmind, taking the investiture from a Shardpool via aluminum. Are there any other ideas on how to feed them (aside from stormlight)?
-
Seekers normally can only sense active use of investiture, but this WoB says that if enough investiture is gathered together, then you can sense it Does this mean that a Seeker would be more likely to become a worldhopper, since they might be able to locate perpendicularities, similar to how Vin was able to sense the Well of Ascension Would they be able to traverse the cognitive realm more easily, since they might be able to sense the direction of a shardworld via the pulses that come from it?

When you Awaken an object, you can only work with the intrinsic properties of that item . So if you were to Awaken an Unsealed Metalmind, could you give it the ability to use those powers in new ways?

When you use Greater Awakening, you are able to Awaken an inanimate object of non-biological origin. Its personality is greatly influenced by the command given to it. Would the personality of the inanimate object before it was Awakened also contribute to its personality? For instance, if you Awakened a sword that you had carried with you for years, that had saved your life many times, that you had gained a great affection towards, would that sword, if Awakened, have a different personality than some random sword you pulled off of the armory rack and Awakened? Is why Adolin’s shardblade, Maya, is starting to heal a little bit, because he views her as a sentient being, rather than a dead object?

I believe that in order to Soulcast something, you have to convince it to change by speaking to its cognitive aspect, then feed it investiture to fuel that change. Could this process be made easier by using emotional Allomancy to make the object more willing to change?
-
On Roshar, we can see some of the characters speak to inanimate objects, and even reason with them (i.e. Shallan Soulcasting the ship in Words of Radiance). In Mistborn Secret History, we see Kelsier interact with inanimate objects, but they don’t really talk to him, even though they have a small amount of a cognitive presence. Does Roshar have more awareness to its inanimate objects due to the presence of Cultivation, and the relatively high concentration of investiture?

Using Forgery to Deny access to Investiture?
Trusk'our replied to Trusk'our's question in Cosmere Q&A
Found this quote here that seems to support my theory. (wait, did I just answer my own post? Shoot, I usually try to let someone else do that, but, eh, what can you do ) -
So I actually went into the Arcanum, and it appears that it may not in fact be possible to do what I asked. But then again... so maybe you could change yourself in the way I suggest, but it would be harder than changing your spiritweb to believe you had different experiences.

In Row, when Hoid is talking to Jasnah, he says that he isn’t bound. I found this kind of funny, as technically he is, because he held a Dawnshard for an extended period of time, he can no longer cause any harm to any living being, at least not physically. I suppose he probably meant he wasn’t bound as he shards were, but still, to me it just felt a bit like a fib on Hoid’s part, since he has some limitations magically imposed on him.

Okay, now I want to mention that I’m pretty sure that the Unsealed Metalmind that granted all powers that we see in The Bands of Mourning were created by Kelsier, acting as the Sovereign, not the Lord Ruler. However, that’s not to say that the Metalminds that the Lord Ruler possessed weren’t Unsealed either. In The Bands of Mourning, the characters questioned why the Lord Ruler would have wanted to turn his bracers into Unsealed Metalminds, as that could have given someone else his powers. However, he could have done this because he feared getting Hemalurgically spiked. If his bracers really were Unsealed Metalminds, then even if he had his Feruchemical gold stolen away Hemalurgically, he could have tapped the Unsealed Metalminds to regain the power (of course he could probably have just Allomantically burned a goldmind that he’d already filled, but still). Additionally, he may have been okay with someone else gaining his power if he were to perish. We see that he did try to prepare humanity for Ruin, even if he died, so I don’t think it’s that far-fetched an idea to think that he wanted to give one last bit of an edge to whoever would have survived his death. Plus, no one even knew about Unsealed Metalminds at the time, and you can’t tap them without knowing that you can tap them first. I certainly could be wrong, and Rashek very likely didn’t make Unsealed Metalminds, but slight as it is, I think that there is still a possibility.
