  1. I think he might have been refering to Miles with a spike that gives allomantic steel. you bring up another point which is that a mistborn could more easily obtain radiant abilities than a radiant could obtain allomantic abilities. Without very precise hemalurgy I can think of no way a Radiant would have access to feruchemy. If neither knew about the abilities of the other when the fight started that might be interesting. The coinshot keeping his distance and firing projectiles at the skybreaker until he ran out of stormlight and his healing stopped. use metal pushes to dodge out of the way while the skybreaker runs into a wall with a metal assisted push. Until the skybreaker realized that the coinshot was using any metal against him he would be at a sever disadvantage. If he realized the odds would even up.
  2. Fair enough. The coin shot still has the advantage of range which is substantial and would allow for them to avoid close contact and aid in low light conditions if the Radiant had any metal on them.
  3. No one is expendable to themselves. Even members of the same radiant order don't cultivate the same skills equally. If you have 2 allomantic skills you have all allomantic skills so did you mean Full Mistborn gold fering vs 3rd oath skybreaker? If so the healing advantage is a toss up. duralumin powered pewter could even up some of the durability and strength advantages. The skybreaker would have a more versatile flying ability but not on the level of windrunners. Shardblade and maybe even division damage could be nullified by emergency aluminum burning after which the mistborn needs a new infusion of metals. Both could probably take advantage of the highstorm to power their abilities. The mistborn would have the advantage of ranged attacks in physical, emotional, and mental arenas and might have an advantage in armaments. There would not likely be a one hit kill to this fight and I would give the mistborn the advantage due to their ranged attack and defense capabilities. it would likely take a 4th oath Radiant to almost even the odds. So long as the radiant has any metal on them the mistborn could use that to be just as maneuverable as their opponent and could keep their distance while bombarding the Radiant with almost any metal object in the area. Low light conditions would add to the advantage of the Mistborn as well.
  4. Not sure I have seen an edgedancer sticking someone in place that sounds more like a windrunner trick. Why don't you come up with some of the inventive strategies that the various match ups might come up with to defeat each other. A compounded steelrunner might be moving so fast if they are even on the ground that he might rip the floor up before he gets stuck or might not even step where the glue spot is even if it is yards wide. besides an edgedancer is more likely to make the floor slippery causing a prat fall. A pewter twin with aluminum spiked gauntlets could cause a lot of trouble for most radiants as well since aluminum has the tendancy to disrupt investiture and as a spike can nullify invested powers. A bronze twin could be extremely dangerous with the ability to detect anti investiture pulses they could design weapons deadly to any invested being, and because they never need to sleep with near infinite awareness could wait to strike when their target is totally unaware. They would be the batman or assassin of the cosmere with time and resources.
  5. Atium is by no means necessary to win. I think twin combinations provide a much better chance of succes. such as a Steel twin which combines and compounds coinshot with steelrunner enabling both to be almost limitless. Even small projectiles fired at hyper-ballistic speeds are likely to pierce shardplate potentially overwhelming even radiant healing or draining stormlight very rapidly and lets not forget a steelrunner can move as fast as wind resistance allows without burning up and so could overwhelm the radiant with the shear number and force of strikes. Besides atium seems to be out of the picture in 2nd generation. Without vast luck you can't hit what you can't see. There is a twin whose very power is unlimited luck and a battle between them and a radiant could very well look like a cascade of devastating accidents in favor of the Mistborn and against the Radiant. I would actually contend that there are many ways that Mistborn are more powerful than Radiant and if you consider it carefully you may see that as well. Shear combat is not the only measure of power and most Radiant's are not combat oriented and could be beaten in a strait up fight with the more combat oriented Mistborn of which their is more variety. That is why I am advocating once again that you put your creativity hat on and compare the various ability combinations in contest between Mistborn and Radiants. It might even be worthwhile to create a march madness style matchup graph to compare them to see which group overall comes in with the most potential wins and how.
  6. I was considering a spring mechanism because it would be convenient for a lurcher and totally eliminates the chance of backfire or explosion from a soul caster or especially division wielder. Increased mass helps with resetting the springs, and recoil enabling greater momentum and larger projectiles. The weapon itself doesn't need to be especially heavy maybe the weight of a heavy rifle or pistol. In addition a lurcher of sufficient mass could maximize the springs compression.
  7. With a rifle-pistol sight or using blue metal lines.
  8. I would have thought there would be more creative match ups proposed on this topic. I am sure there are people who are more versed than I am in either Scadrians or Rosharans. I have seen many people say Atium gives the advantage to Mistborn making them invincible and many say Shardplate and blades make radiants invincible. Or Radiants are invincible because they have major healing. I would contend that someone like Wax or Miles not Wayne(he doesn't kill) could take out most Radiant's in most orders perhaps even Dalinar and even most Windrunners. Kaladin would probably defeat Wax, but maybe not Miles because of his talent in combat not so much his powers. I also think if everyone applied their creativity to the problem they would find that there may be a majority of situations where Mistings, Twinborn, and Mistborn, all of which can legitimately be called mistborn, would win the contest. I have already proposed several obvious situations in which that is the case. Let me propose another potential mistborn winner. An Iron lurcher twin with a spring loaded repeating projectile launcher loaded with aluminum projectiles(spikes, balls, bullets). The Iron twin could load massive weight to resist recoil from so the projectiles could have significant mass. The loader could be spring loaded to push projectile after projectile into the firing tube to be fired. The fireing mechanism could also be a powerful spring mechanism that can be pulled back to set position by the lurcher after each shot. If the projectile launcher were used to fire other metal projectiles even if the twin missed he would have a second chance by pulling the projectile back into his target and with his weight and massive leverage even shardplate might be overwhelmed. Plus he might be able to pull even a windrunner into his outstretched blade by their belt buckle or especially any metal on their back. An Iron twin would be the immovable object firing massive repeated rounds many with a boomerang effect at their opponent. And when they needed to move they could spiderman right out of there even with the most lightly anchored metal because he could store all that weight while pulling for escape.
  9. Check the coppermind (I have) to steal abilities spikes don't always need to be inserted into the heart and depending on where they are inserted it also determines what is stolen if especially if a spike can steal multiple abilities. The physical attribute that pewter steals is that way then you need to spike the right location to use that ability. There is a chart for some hemalurgic spikes and where they need to be used to steal then to give powers. Most metals are not actually on there so it is anyone's guess where to spike. Given what aluminum does it probably can do it anywhere. Even if it doesn't work anywhere as a Hemalurgic spike it and its alloys disrupts investiture where ever they penetrate until removed. again check the coppermind. KR have 10 combinations of abilities and fused have 9 indiviual but the same abilities as KR. Corrupted spren give the same 10 combinations as KR with a different shade of resonance. You did notice that I said 264+ combinations for mistborn right? I stand corrected never the less there is much more he could have compounded and which he could have created resonances with but didn't probably because he already felt invulnerable without practicing until he could create resonances and compounding beyond some basic obvious abilities. Never the less it is still more interesting to me to see creative combinations of abilities in contests, abilities, and potential resonances including compounding instead of everyone trying to compare just the uber characters like TLR and the Heralds. If TLR and a Herald got in a fight it might kill the planet they were on before a winner could be called like Superman vs Zod and his 2 lieutenants. TLR in the books never used his full potential.
  10. I spent the day gathering equipment and supplies. I also covertly drained stormlight from nearby spheres, then stored it in Nicrosil bands woven into my new bracers. I mirrored the identities of several merchants, and wove them into parts of other merchants I had mirrored in the past, to quickly adapt to the specifics of commerce on this world. I also slowly built a lightweave that gave me a non de-script but familiar appearance, so that I was easily forgettable. When I interacted with individuals or groups, I would leave the impression in the moment that I seemed seemed familiar. I reinforce those impressions by projecting those emotional waves around me. Even though I was carrying a respectable amount of spheres, my projections and weaves caused would be trouble makers, who may have wanted what I had, to avoid me, or even overlook me. Once I was supplied and equipped, I inserted myself into a caravan headed down the valley out of the mountains and westward toward Yeddaw, then on to Berizhet, and finally to Talus on the coast of Steen. on the trip I carefully used my skills to maintain order and to divert trouble both inside the company and out. Bandits who approached us suddenly felt it was to much trouble, or to dangerous, or any number of excuses, so they avoided us. Troublemakers, and those less than honest within the group, found it easier to use their energies to speed our journey and contribute to our overall well being. While those honest travelers found the travel encouraging and invigorating even when it became difficult due to weather, terrain, or some other factor beyond our control. I also used my abilities to make our trip generally profitable. I was careful to limit my own profits, so that again I only seemed to be some unremarkable merchant in the group, and also limited my direct interactions within the group to avoid undo notice.
  11. Been gone for a few days. Hoid can't easily win a fight even with all his forms of investiture because he cannot kill just one of his limits. TLR had so many abilities that he never really mastered most of them to the point where he compounded them. He seems to have used only the most obvious compounding abilities. after all we never see him steelrun, or take full advantages of compounded pewter or tin. That's also why Kelsior had Vin train with others for their specialized abilities even though he had all their allomantic abilities himself, but was really only a master of steel and iron. Wax and Wayne were masters of their 2 metallic abilities to the point of using the reasonances of their abilities as much as the abilities themselves and reaching savant levels as well. I think that it is the twinborn not the full mistborn in most cases that would create the best and most successful matches between Mistborn and Radiant. I mentioned that a Bronze twin might be able to become the most dangerous opponent to any invested because with time and resources they could develop weapons to kill any invested due to the fact that they would be able to determine the anti-Light or anti-investiture frequency and amplitude of all other forms of investiture. It was noted that they might need Raesium to produce anti-light, but their are metals that can steal investiture-stormlight to create the anti-light from. Given the time even shards might be in danger from them. They are the potential Batman of the cosmere and Batman given time to prepare can kill even Superman. Radiants may have an edge in overt power over mistborn though not all of them could claim thats the case. Size or Power does matter, but if your opponent can find a way to use your size or power against you will likely lose and with versatility inherent in mistborn powers that could very well be the case. For example a windrunner is chasing a mistborn and suddenly steel spike propels him into a wall or the ground in the direction he was lashing. or he lashes himself right into a metal bar or worse a bullet that was pushed toward him right in his path. both cases he was struck with the force of the lashes and the pushes-pulls of the allomancer. Wax could do that all day. Even worse with alluminum alloy tipped bullets which in this case might pierce even shard plate into the heart would stop any healing and might quickly prove fatal. Hollow points would cause even more damage. Before you say Aluminum is to soft there are some aluminum alloys that are harder than steel. another contention I have had people say is that hemalurgic spikes need to go through the heart but upon further investigation that is not necessarily the case, but depends on what attribute you are harvesting. Most Hemalurgic spikes don't have a list of where they need to be used to perform their hemalurgic function. Aluminum doesn't steal abilities in nullifies them so could very well be lethal even to Heralds which are purely invested beings. No power, no investiture, no healing, no life. (aluminum and its alloys have been shown to stop healing until removed). Why don't more people get creative and write about matches that include resonances and compounding combinations in vs Radiants. There are 10 Radiant orders vs over 256 mistborn combininations. That seems like a very fertile field instead of rehashing all these uber matchups like TLR vs Herald or Vin vs Windrunner (personally I think Vin would wipe the floor with most windrunners and against Kaladin it would be a toss up given that both are naturals in their abilities).
  12. I spent hours working out each day with the light weavers, edge dancers and Truth watchers practicing and honing my new abilities and skills. After several days while practicing with Shallon she asked me "Why don't you summon a shard bladed, you seem to have the potential?" I told her "I don't want to take the risk of injuring either Harvest or Fractal unintentionally." Then she said "I need you to do something for me." "Ok, just ask" I responded. She continued "I need you to travel on a covert scouting mission to Talus on the coast. While you are there mix with the locals and bring me back any information you can on the Ghostbloods." I narrowed my eyes and said "they have a presence here? It's trying to escape from them that brought me here." She waited nodding while I gathered myself, and I continued "Is there anything in particular you want me to watch for?" She answered "pay particular attention to their organization, and the connections they are cultivating with other people and or groups. Travel using mundane means as you work your way to Talus, to help you covertly insert yourself there."
  13. A Bronze twin could probably produce a weapon like that though it would probably be anti-Harmony. Their ability to sense pulses would give them a leg up on creating weapons vs any type of investiture and not just the investiture with sonic components like Rosharan light.
  14. My guess would be very bad things up to and including total annihilation.
  15. Not necessarily. It is not beyond reason that you could infuse projectiles and explosives with Anti-Light.
  16. Then the stormlight in the Radiant is annihilated and the Radiant has perhaps a serious wound that the don't heal from until they breath more stormlight.
  17. In real science you can't use one light wave to cancel another it works more like one soundwave cancels another. Lightwaves don't actually have destructive interference but soundwaves do.
  18. Yes but a Bronze twin just might be able to detect them through their pulses-rhythms, and they are not always small or fast. Not all of them are invisible either for instance pattern is visible if you know what to look for. In addition because they are generally undetectable they might not anticipate an attack just like Teft's Spren.
  19. I am not sure I was clear. An Anti-Stormlight weapon touching a being such as a Spren made up of stormlight would seem to act like matter touching anti-matter regardless what form the Spren was in. The only thing that could save the Spren is if they had more Stormlight than the Weapon had Anti-Stormlight and even then it would cause sever damage. Also it doesn't turn them into dead eyes they simply cease to exist.
  20. I didn't say his spren was a blade at the time, but it could be presumed that what affects a Spren affects the blade made up of that Spren.
  21. Yeah Moash killed Teft's Spren with anti-stormlight.
  22. You do know that the right anti-light kills spren even those that become shardblades? It would be the Bronze twin that invented the sonic cannon as part of his arsenal.
  23. I am intrigued to see several people add anti-light to the discussion. It seems to me that a Bronze Twin compounding savant with their ability to differentiate pulses could develop antilight weapon arsenals for use in any confrontation and they could work around the clock to do so because they have virtually no need to sleep. Given time and resouces they could be the most dangerous opponent to any invested person in the cosmere. They could become the Batman-Ironman of the Cosmere.
  24. Maybe you should present a match up using one of those compounders.
  25. I am not really expecting his critiques at this time but I would appreciate any feedback from others regardless. I haven't read dawnshard yet, so not sure I will make the live stream plus I go to bed very early due to my early schedule. Thanks though.
