So, I went to a dance last night; Valentines, of course. Anyways, I think I’ll just put in some moments y’all might enjoy.
- There was a room where people could play board game, because of course and the room was definitely cooler temperature wise than the actual dance room. Anyways, there was a chalk board and a piece of chalk, and me being the weirdo that I am, drew something. I didn’t take a pic of it, but it was basically what my last drawing in my art thread was. I left after receiving a few compliments from the people who saw me draw it, then I went back to the room an hour or so later, and there are more drawings, and mine had an A++ right next to it.
- They played “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” and I swear: Everyone popped off. Everyone was singing. I mean, except my cousin who doesn’t like Encanto, because his little brothers have been watching the movie daily and he kinda sits through it, so he just left the room and I laughed so hard.
- At one point in the dance, the host people whatever said that if any young women wanted to dance to a slow song, they were to take off one of their shoes and place it in the middle of the dance floor. Now, I’m not one that really cares for it, but I thought: “Why not? I have cool socks on,” took a shoe off, and chucked it in the middle and I have no clue if I did hit someone with it. I went to talk with a guy friend and my cousin, and I told them: “No one’s gonna pick up my shoe lol,” but I look back at the sea of people, and someone was holding up my shoe. I kinda went: “Gosh dangit,” and went to go dance with the guy at the slow song. He was dope; taller and younger than me, but a really kewl dude.
Yeah, I think that’s it.

Last night, I wanted to get some schoolwork done so I wouldn’t have that much to do today. At around 8:30pm, I was literally at my workspace and I was dozing off. About an hour later at around 9:30pm, I wake up, wanting to just take a few moments to rest before doing schoolwork, so I cleaned up my workspace and went to rest in my bed for a few minutes.
Yeah, so a few minutes turned into about nine hours.

This is going to be a weird topic for me to gush about, so.. idk, feel free to just ignore this??
I think everyone can agree that listening to music live is better than just listening to the studio version; I think that’s a well-known fact. I mean, duh. It’s better to hear it in-person than over a recording that has gone through hours of editing and revising, but with singers who know what they’re doing with what songs they’re singing, you can literally feel the emotions, whether that be through a happy and uplifting song or a sad and emotional song.
I’m gonna reference a song done by this really small k-pop group––idk if you’ve heard of them––BTS: “The Truth Untold.” Now the studio version is already pretty emotional and you can hear that emotion in their voices, but when listening to a live recording, you can actually see that emotion
this vid is a stage mix(?) of multiple performances of that song https://youtu.be/q9yaP4wZ_tI, which I’m going to be referencing. You can hear that loneliness and longing more clearly in the song in the live version. I can see and hear that emotion mostly from the second guy (going left to right); mostly at 0:53 to 1:09. But something else that actually gives me goosebumps every single time is 3:28 to 3:34 is when the guy belts and it doesn’t really sound like a note, but like a cry; a sorrow-filled scream. It’s not like the studio recording, and honestly, I wish it was a part of it because it fits so well with the lyrics.
The live version feels more real, raw, and depressing; don’t get me wrong, the studio version can hit those points, but not as well as the live version. The live version is the one I listen to whenever I’m writing some
lovesad moments for Ji.Anyways, sorry for the TED Talk, but I needed to gush about it for a few minutes.
