MAGIC SYSTEMS: Now, there are many magic systems, but they can be boiled down into 3 catagories: Natural Defense, Natural Consequence, and Fourth-based mutables Natural defenses and consequences - they are bigg spoilers so thats a no, but I realy wanted to talk about the mutables. There are 7 mutables. Standard theory has it split into the Conceptual 3 and the Standard 4. The standard 4 consists of: Tempest Winter Metaluna Chroma The conceptual 3 are: Hedra Voices Inversion Lets start with the two most basic. Tempest and Winter. They are similar, but completely different. Tempest controls marked air (determined by hedra) that belongs to the user. It can only be marked through touch, and markers cannot be removed, altered, or replaced. They are permanent. Tempest's inital problem is that most air is marked. So you might never be able to influence air. Markers are the subject that is most commonly studied among Tempest users, because: If they could remove the flags at will tempest would be much more viable as a weapon. Alternatively, if they could add markers (fake ones) for others it would change the protection against tempest. If they can change who the markers afect they will achieve both of the goals Tempest is a very strong power, but it is bound not only by flags, but also by hedra. Hedra is like a cookie cutter, and everything is part of an intangible epilipse hedrial shape, and they interlock. That is the area of influence of a tempest user, although with effort you don't have to folow the guidlines for hedra. Researchers are NOT intrested in hedra manipulation since: Playing around with hedra causes otherside to break through quicker than any other power. Hedra is just a suggestion, and can already be bypassed with effort. Hedra doesn't change easily Cookie cutter powers it is with air, basically. Recently, doctor Strohger has been finding intresting interactions with tempest and other mutables, but is on the verge of discovering cool stuff. Now that we know tempest has boundaries, what could you do? Fly (with great effort) Create wind Create weather or tornados Breathe artificially whisper to certain people Make knives out of tempest Remove air from an area Manipulate temperature to a limited extent Feel with air (you can only tell if you hit a wall. It doesn't work well) Filter air (Maybe with right circumstances) Those are just some examples for you. Our next mutable is Winter. Unlike Tempest, you create Winter from nothing (or you can add special stuff mixed in) and it disappears into nothing when out of sight. A more advanced Winter user could maintain a structure without sight, but it would cost concentration. Once summoned, winter generally takes the form of crystals that are water based, and when dropped, shatter into nothing. They can be brittle or strong, depending on your skill. Winter can be mixed with other things to release them on shatter. The biggest limitation for Winter is sight and concentration. Weaker users have to avoid blinking, while a strong user can do it with their eyes closed. There are a couple of rules where winter can form: The area cannot be occupied by a solid or liquid The structure, the lattice is determined by hedra and cannot be changed, bur can be influenced. Winter cannot form in the otherside, or other differently flagged Winter crystals. There isn't much room for research. People have been researching winter flags, but since they don't rule Winter like they do for Tempest, they aren't that important. Now, what can you do with Winter? You can: Create weapons, tools, armor, you name it. Create water using the salt method Use it as a projectile Use it as structuring material Use it to walk on air* Minor temperature influence Use it to swim Use it to drink, or wash ultimately, the main advantage of Winter is that you can create almost anything almost instantly. It is essential to trade and hygiene, and almost integeral to society as a whole. Those were the first two mutables. I will post more about the other ones soon, but I do need to sleep and this is getting loooong. Good night fellows!

Location: I can't give many descriptions of the locations, but I can give a few. Each one is drastically different than the last, but there is common themes across all of them. Reoccuring things, if you will. The King's folly: Takes place in the land Radiance Inverted: Lysis Tale of Two Lights: Vandrisil Voices & Finality: Ithryl The land came from the joke "there are flat earthers all around the globe" (irony if you will). It has a whole lot of trace, but thats it. Lysis is hell. It has deadly water. It has the equivilent of a highstorm. And there isn't many places to hide in. Vandrisil is an elegant land where it is always twilight. The ethercosm has a servere role on events there, but they have a little extra bonus there because of it. Ithryl is a land that had too much magic used on it. Due to the trace and the extra protection it has had a lot of tampering. It is not stable enough without the skypower. So, as I mentioned, locations don't play a big role in anything... yet?

"The trace probably wouldn't be destroyed by the disintegration. It would just sit there."
-
"Uh. Aiya could probably move my trace to a new body, if that's what you mean."
-
"Uh, you would need the magic if you want to connect to anyone else probably."
-
"I... Do? I do like being alive, if you know what I mean."
-
"Oh... So. Do we have any test subjects?"
-
"But can you like, jump off a cliff and then eject from the body?"
-
"Do you instantly take over? What happens?"
-
"I could maybe forge connections between you and someone else maybe... But I would have to be able to see both of you."
-
"Maybe, in a roundabout way. It can be used liberally, but... I could certainly try."
-
"My body has the conditions to use the magic. I myself cannot normally. But you have one thing wrong there. Fourth, as it stands, is the invisible, invincible, Omnipresent, omnipotent power over connection."
-
"And I haven't done that to you yet, right?"
-
"Seriously. How do you connect with their soul?"
-
"And how does that happen?"
-
"Uh so why haven't you been doing this before again?"
-
"Define 'quick'. Five days or fifteen minutes?"
-
"For you to make the link. You said you could."

"How long does it take to make the link?"

"Aiya isn't a forger, and she doesn't have time to draw eldritch runes in the middle of an interrogation."
