...no? Current VC (and when I said that it was this minus the votes on Dannex): Gears (2): TJ, Books TJ (2): Illwei, Ash Dannex (2): Matrim, Quinn Yell at me if that's wrong, but I have each vote and retraction written in order in a google doc so... pretty sure it's right : P Yeah I didn't read the rules very thoroughly, that's on me. First of all, I didn't say I wasn't voting. I said I wasn't voting on Illwei, at that particular moment, because (insert my reasons here). It was in response to her asking me why I wasn't voting her. Second of all, you make it sound like it was a two-second turnaround or something, but there were two hours in between those posts in which I actually sat down and thought about this whole thing. I really honestly don't know what I think of Illwei rn but I don't read her village at all and I'm not sure why so many other people do? Oh. Sorry, I missed that : P the point still stands though--not enough of us were going to agree with that. You and Illwei are 2 out of 12. You seem to think rather better of my logical thought process, and rather worse of my elim decision-making, than is really merited. I miss holes like that all the time--for example, in LG72 I proposed we intentionally tie two players to see which one was elim, and genuinely didn't consider that it was possible they were both village. And elim!me, assuming she'd seen that hole, likely wouldn't have proposed the plan in the first place. It's probably easier for an elim to win if everyone just chooses who they trust most, because the elims can just all vote for the most high-profile, trusted member of their team and say they weren't sure who else to pick. Yeah, that's basically why I voted Illwei. Is there a problem with that? Edit: Wait when did Books vote Dannex? huh? how did I miss that... Edit edit: ohhh it was in that giant bolded reads post that I only skimmed because it was like 7:15am and I was tired and bold is hard to read. Ack sorry about that : P
-
Hmmm... I... yeah y'know what let's do this. Dannex. We need to exe someone and only the super active players have even posted much, at all, so idk what else to do. of course I feel bad about this because of LG73 but whatever
-
Don't worry, votes within quotes aren't counted also if you want to make that especially clear for people who are just skimming, you can change votes to orange within quotes to make it obvious. (note that it's generally a good idea to avoid double-posting--though if you edit a post to add a vote, you should @ the GM)

So it's 7:30am here, I just got up, and I'm probably not fully awake yet (that is to say, this is almost certainly gonna change), but Striker. Would bother to provide original reasoning or at least reiterate everyone else's but I'm tired and the idea of doing thorough rereads sounds like torture to me right now so here this is XD (no, Ash, you aren't the only one who can keep up but not reflect. That is exactly the boat I'm in right now)

@Illwei my vote was still on you because I had to go to bed, and you hadn't removed your vote yet anyway. Illwei I don't like either of the options right now; Gears and TJ? Seriously? I don't see the reasoning for TJ at all--can you really blame him for the faulty argument? Barely anyone has said anything now and that was hours ago. Gears... idk about Gears... Know what? I'm just gonna leave this a tie. We'll see what happens ig.
-
Great, lovely, this is not an argument I actually care about rn. Why is your vote still on me? Why am I still tied for most votes? for that matter, @Matrim's Dice why is your vote still on me? You both live on the west coast lol Edit: ninja'd by Mat

The plan where we all agree in-thread. I'm saying I'll decide for myself, and announce after. ...has elim!me ever actually done this? iirc most of my suspicion expressed as elim has been in the form of massive multiquotes or reads lists. and that just seems... rly pointless to me. To make a general point. My statements applied equally to everyone, you just happened to be the one who said things that merited them? idk how to phrase that. Yes, they were directed at you, but they weren't meant to imply you're evil. just, I disagree + here's why. Fair enough on that one. Seems like a waste of space and time to ask to me, since we all know we all want it and asking is one big IKYK, but you do you ig. Edit: also seriously I'm gonna be pretty mad if I'm voted off C1 for... whatever you're voting me for at this point @Illwei could you explain why exactly your vote is still on me? What reasons do you have to leave it there?
-
I'm not, as it happens. Here are the things that I'm basing that off of: There are just so many things wrong with this: - I have literally never voted Ash in an elim game. You can go back and check if you want. - Poke-voting Ash is not the same thing as talking about killing him. How often to poke-votes actually stick? - I chose Ash at random. His name happened to be the first one I saw when I opened the player list. I'm sure your paranoid tinfoil state of mind doesn't believe me on that, but it's true. - When you pointed this out you made it sound like a joke--in fact you made it clear that it was one, as far as I could tell (see quote below)--but now you're actually taking it seriously? As I've said, this wasn't meant to even be shade at you. Just pointing out a flaw in your plan. And by the way, I assumed that plan was only half-serious anyway, since obviously everyone here wants to get the bow for themselves so repeatedly stating it doesn't do anything. So why are you getting so worked up about it? Feels like you're super self-conscious or jumping at shadows or something. This, in particular, is what I'm talking about. For reference, here's what I said that you decided was "indirect shade" on you: I never once mentioned you in that post, I was talking generally about everyone, I was explaining why my first point wasn't shade on you. Could you be so kind as to tell me where in this post you see shade on you? Please and thanks. Don't see why this is a reason to attack me specifically, seeing as you're the only one in this game so far who has expressed any willingness to announce their vote beforehand in-thread. I will inform everyone afterwards who I voted for. Basically, you're either a villager who's insanely tunneling on me right now or you're an elim trying to get a misexe? Like. This kind of point just doesn't mean anything. Because. It applies. To everyone. Okay, this I'm just confused by. Not like, "this is scummy" confused, since apparently everything I say throws shade on you unless I clarify that it isn't, so here's me clarifying that I am. Just confused. You should know what my plan was before, since you spent plenty of time criticizing it. And again, since you haven't answered this question yet, why are you saying it should have been my plan from the beginning when it's not the plan you've been trying to convince me to adopt this whole time? Just... weird phrasing? Or what? You seem to be laboring under the delusion that my comments are specifically directed at you. To be very very clear. They are not. When I say I don't trust you enough, I'm directing it at you because you're the one who's demanding that we give you the bow. The subtext, which apparently isn't obvious, is that I don't currently trust anyone. This is not a personal attack on you. This is not shade on you. This is me saying that I don't know who to pick, and that you don't happen to be on the top of the list if I had to choose right this second. You are misrepresenting some of what I say. Calling a post shade on you when I don't directly mention you is misrepresenting. If I'm trying to shade you, I'll say it--I'm not exactly the passive-aggressive sort, and anyway that doesn't get anything done. No one's gonna vote you for veiled shade, so veiled shade is pointless afaic, and I won't do it. Just so we're clear.

It was midmorning before Tesse had managed to restore some semblance of order to her shop and her apartment. The intruder, or intruders, had been incredibly thorough in their search, and she suspected it was only by chance that they hadn't found what they were looking for. She knew they hadn't, because nothing was missing. Or nothing valuable anyway--there might have been books or clothes or miscellaneous kitchenware on the shelves or in her closet yesterday that weren't there now, but she doubted it. Who would go to all this trouble for items that collectively weren't worth more than a few dozen boxings, and leave the metals worth ten times as much? She had a good idea of what they hadn't been looking for. Not the metals--those weren't even kept under lock and key, the finished shavings in the vials. They sat proudly on display shelves, and every single one was in its place. They were the only items in the entire building that hadn't been moved, in fact. Not fine ceramics, either--Tesse had a set, passed down from the generations when her family was more than just comfortable, when the Mourn name really meant something. She'd thought at first that the set was gone, because it wasn't in its display case in the kitchen, but then she found it stacked carefully on the old red and gold rug in her study--which was itself worth twice as much as the china. They hadn't even been looking for atium; the safe that held her last two beads, along with her gold and her pewter, had been left ajar, and yet all of its contents were still present. No, there were only two things they could have wanted, whoever they were. The Eleventh Metal, or... No. They couldn't know about that. They couldn't. The few people here who knew would have been at the meeting, she told herself. They wouldn't have had time to... her hands trembling again, she unlatched that particular hidden safe and surveyed its contents. They were all there. Of course they were; she'd already checked three times that morning. She shut the door, replaced the wall-panel that went in front of it, and sank into her desk chair. Her hands were still shaking. I have to get rid of them, she thought. But how?

TUO = lone wolf elim confirmed Edit: Illwei @Illwei @Archer because you actually have no reason to be voting for me at this point, or if you do I can't find it, and the tone of your most recent posts feels off and way more... not even defensive, because I think I've made it clear that I'm not even attacking you? So there's nothing to be defensive about? I don't even know what it is, but it's there.
-
First one was character, second was me attacking your plan not you, third was me noting a contradiction (which I'd still like an explanation for? but I don't think it's overly sus or anything), And the fourth thing was me being exasperated. You are, in fact, still doing the thing that I was exasperated at you for--especially the exaggeration part. If I thought you were sus, I would vote you. That's generally how I operate, yeah? Apparently it's hard to keep up the "loyal hunter" thing without sounding like I'm casting shade on the people who disagree with me, though, which I guess I should have forseen. But to be clear, that's just the character.
-
Okay y'know what I wanted to stay in character for this game but this is exhausting so I'm not gonna at this point. I have literally never once in this entire cycle so far intended to cast shade on you or say that I was genuinely suspicious of you, and if it came off that way then ig that's the character. So. To have that clarified. Stop saying I'm throwing shade on you, because I'm not. Do I disagree with your plan for the crossbow? Yes. But I don't think it's AI, just a difference of opinions. I'm not attacking you, I'm attacking your plan. That's why I'm not voting you.
-
This is basically my train of thought as well. I would imagine that a team who'd choose to kill Randby would also choose another lack-of-info kill, which I guess Ventyl is in some ways but they also could have gotten enough suspicion on Ventyl to misexe him, I think.

"I just glanced at the roster of hunter names and picked a random one. I have no idea why this suggests I'm dragonbait." "I'm sorry I didn't make this clear, but this wasn't meant to be shade on you specifically. It was meant to point out that just because a person manages to convince others to choose them as the bearer of the crossbow doesn't mean that person is trustworthy, or that agreeing publicly on one person is a good idea. That's because the bait can work together to try to set up one of their own as the person we should all vote for. Basically, in any public debate they have an advantage over the rest of us. Also, your own comment sounds rather paranoid to me..." "As I said before, if we agree on things publicly then the bait has a chance to present a more unified front. If we let each person decide for themself, then the bait can't take advantage of crowd mentality, of being swayed to vote for one person because other people are doing it." "The bait have more coordination than us no matter what we do, because no loyal hunter can totally trust anyone else, whereas the bait know who they can and can't trust. As I've said, coordinating in thread would be a bad idea because it allows them to use their coordination subtly to advocate for the selection of a specific person. Also, what if they decide to just kill the person who would receive the Bow? @Archer you were the one who proposed the voting plan originally, right? Is it possible that the bait could manage to kill the person we choose before we can give them the crossbow for their own protection?" "The bait can join in the discussion too, and sway it. I think that instead of focusing so much on who gets or does not get the crossbow, except as an individual choice, we should discuss who we're going to use as dragon bait tomorrow. That discussion should reveal who's most trustworthy, and allow us each to make an informed decision." "When I originally decided I'd vote for myself, I didn't see another alternative. Then I thought of a plan that I thought would work better, and changed my mind. Now that TJ has pointed out the flaw in that plan, I may go back to voting for myself, or I may choose to vote for someone else I trust." "No, of course I don't want to tell you. Certainly not when you keep misinterpreting, exaggerating, and misrepresenting my arguments like this." "Yes, I do think Seba's words, plans, and behavior are odd. They're definitely not someone I'd vote for. And please stop misinterpreting what I'm saying! It's almost like you're doing it on purpose. I wasn't throwing shade on the crossbow bearer, I was saying that choosing someone for a reason that doesn't have to do with dragon hunting or the discussions around dragon hunting is a bad idea, because then we're leaving it up to chance whether we choose a loyal hunter or dragon bait. At that point we might as well just roll a 12-sided die to determine who gets it!" "I'm not sure why you're saying that this should have been the plan from the beginning, since it's not the plan that you've advocated from the beginning." "I think Seba is being quite strange. Perhaps that's normal for them, but it still seems odd to me. The vote on Faleast/AraRaash was random, so I had no reason not to drop it. As a sidenote, why do we have two people registered as the same person on the roster?" "I never asked you to give the bow to me, though obviously I think it would be a good thing if it did go to me since I'm the only one here that I know I can trust. But this my first hunt, and I'm sure there are other hunters far more qualified to carry it than me, so I wasn't about to suggest that plan. I notice that you, Illwei, have had no such qualms." "Do you have something against how I'm talking? I don't think I'm talking any differently than normal..." "I don't think that's a good idea, but it's not just up to me so if the others decide they trust you then who am I to say otherwise?"
-
"I suppose it isn't. But I still think you would have been more suspicious of me had I not pointed out that that's the natural reaction. And now you're just confused, which is probably not a good thing either, unless you're dragon bait. Are you? I hope you are, otherwise I'm hurting our chances of success..."
-
"On the one hand, I suppose you have a point. Gears. On the other hand, I can't imagine you won't find it suspicious that I'm now retracting my vote after you've expressed suspicion of it. I really can't win here, you know."
-
"Well you have to agree that someone who is clearly alive claiming to die often is somewhat strange. Right? I mean, unless you think Seba is a ghost, or some kind of undead? Besides, if you're worried about so many people voting at once, shouldn't you be more worried about the third voter than the second?"
-
"I resent this accusation! I'm just trying to do my best for our hunting group. Also, what do you mean 'how much I hopped plans?' At the start I decided I wanted to vote for myself, then a plan occurred to me that I thought would work better, and then someone else poked a hole in that plan that I hadn't seen. It was only logical that I reconsider after that. Not to do so would have been bad for us hunters!"
-
"Hey, that's not a bad point... I mean, if you 'die a lot,' then how are you even here? Gears" Edit: Ashbringer
-
"Hmmmm... Jillian Glade, Elim of the Dragon Hunt. It has a nice ring to it. But what does it mean? Also, I think I'll also join the plan of just voting for who I trust."
-
"People can earn titles on a hunt? Is this... like, did you have to fill out a form beforehand? Is this something I'm eligible for? I want a title!"
-
"How would the grammar police frame someone? In order to do that they'd have to... oh. They would just have to all vote for someone else and then one of them claim to vote for a different person. ah. I see. Hmmmm."
-
"For future reference, the formatting suggestion was to put votes in purple and retractions in orange. Currently, there are three votes for 'Vote for someone other than myself and announce it tomorrow' and no votes for any other plan." "Please look over the plans that have been proposed by Illwei, Seba, and myself--and anyone else, if I'm forgetting someone who proposed a plan--and then vote for a plan by bolding it and putting it in purple. Retractions should be bolded and in orange."
-
"Oh! I see! And then they would be dragon bait..."
-
