  1. Hmmm. What kind of feel are you looking for? Are you trying to use uplifting music to juxtapose? The Blue Danube is very light, so if you're going for that, it should work well.
  2. Me: Wishing I could fully mentally grasp paradoxes.
  3. Me: Thinking that that sounds cool Me: Thinking about me thinking me me thinking me vs. me thinking me thinking and being confused
  4. Me: Wondering how I would go about joining and how not to be the worst member the world has seen
  5. I'm glad to be here! I do have to say that everyone here has been extremely welcoming and kind! You guys are the best! It was an unexpected surprise but a welcomed one.
  6. Ooh, what's SE? Me: confused and bewildered as to why people have abandoned the very reason this thread exists
  7. Wow! For some reason I find it really cool that there are siblings together here. I'm not too sure why; I guess it just never occurred to me that that could (and would) happen. My siblings aren't too into Sanderson, so I doubt they'd join, but it's awesome to see others whose families are into Sanderson. Sounds like such a cool experience. That's an awesome choice! I like that name!

Wow, that's pretty good! I've always thought animation was really cool. I'm looking forward to the rockbud!
  9. That's really cool! Improvisation is one of my favorite things hands-down, but it's not for everyone. I wish I was better at reading music. If you gave me any jazz chord I could play it instantly, but I struggle sometimes with reading fast passages for both hands. I'm more of a chords kinda guy I didn't know that! That's awesome! Are there many siblings together here?
  10. That's awesome! Film music is some of my favorite kinds of music to listen to! It's so cool bumping into fellow musicians here; I love it!
  11. Me: Thanking you for those kind and gracious words
  12. Me: Wishing I didn't have two tests and an essay due tomorrow...
  13. Hi! Oh! Do you play also? I love classical (romantic period specially), French composers like Debussy and Ravel, and I play jazz piano (which might offend some classical pianists). I've been playing for about 8 years now (I think...) What do you like to play?
  14. Okay, noted... thanks for letting me know!
  15. lol That's actually EXTREMELY hard. I haven't really thought about it much. I really enjoy Kaladin, and I relate to him a lot. I also enjoy (as I said) Wit's parts in Stormlight. I also love Kelsier and his parts in the cosmere. Too many choices!!! I think I would choose Hoid, just because he knows so much about the cosmere! Even if that comes with other unknown effects, I think I would choose him because I'm just so darn intrigued by the cosmere.
  16. @Mist I find this WOB particularly interesting. I'm really intrigued by Nightblood (and Gavilar's spheres!) and I can't wait to learn more Blightsong How does corrupted investiture work, like Nightblood? Brandon Sanderson Oh, Nightblood. Again, this is a definition of what somebody feels is a corruption. For instance, there are spren that people would feel are corrupted. But that's corruption where the mixing of different Shards has changed things, and I think a lot of times when people say corruption, what they're meaning is the mixing of Shards' powers. Blightsong So is there a mixing of Shards' powers happening with Nightblood? Brandon Sanderson *smirks* RAFO. That's the natural question, I'm glad you asked it. Blightsong Ok, uhhh, so something similar is happening with Gavilar's sphere, right? Brandon Sanderson *contemplative silence* RAFO.
  17. That's really cool! I love Sanderson's hard magic systems as well (who doesn't?). It'll probably be interesting to see this f-tin group is all about. I find it really exciting to see my two main passions (music and reading) both here on the Shard. I think it'll be fun being an active member on this site.
  18. I'm actually really surprised to find that I'm the first cellist here. Where are my fellow cellists?!
  19. Hello! I'm new here, and this is my first post on 17th Shard! I'm really excited to join the community and discuss the cosmere with you guys! I've been meaning to join for a little while, but I finally joined today! I picked up Sanderson a few years ago and I've been obsessed ever since. I think that by now I've read almost every WOB . Anyway, Sanderson fans out there, what your favorite aspect of the cosmere? I really enjoy the vagueness of Hoid and the little things that he says to connect the worlds. I find the Wit aspect of Hoid from Stormlight Archive absolutely hilarious. He is a top contender for my favorite character/aspect of the cosmere. Also, this is a little bit unrelated, but are there any fellow musician Sanderson fans out there? I play cello and jazz piano; what do you guys play? I'm thrilled to join the 17th Shard and am looking forward to the future! I'm hoping it will be filled with many fascinating Cosmere discussions.
