  1. If you think that's impressive, I have fifty tabs in my other window.
  2. Yes, that was one of the first things I thought of with metalminds businesses, where people can have someone at for example at a concert and rather than watching the recording, you can experience the concert. It would be VR on steroids. You can use it to help patients deal with pain, maybe make a person in pain take a memory so everyone can experience what pain feels like without actually hurting yourself, go to exotic lands without actually torturing yourself with all... stuff. Only thing I'm not sure about is whether or not people would easily give up their memories so they can be put on the market.
  3. I'm on the podium though, so victory is mine.
  4. Where does that place me? Second place?
  5. Yes, Hello. Check Sources of the Universe later, chapters coming! Remeber to actually look at the status updates.*Cough* Somebody at Sel *Cough*
  6. Try six seventeen shard tabs, 7 coppermind tabs, and 2 WoB tabs.
  7. That thread that said THE WAR IS OVER. I was unfamiliar with thread necromancy at the time.
  8. Why is there someone watching me from downstairs? What's the worst thing to say when a burglar breaks into your house and sees you?
  9. yeah, Steelheart was great, and firefight was a little less so, but still great and could've been made better by the sequel. I think BS tried to do too much in one book. Maybe he should made more, or just let it end with Prof's... Oh, I just realized another reason It's bad. Prof recovers in five minutes, which certainly helped the rushed feeling.
  10. I guess so. Glad it was interesting, and wish we could have left it at a less odd point
  11. One, please use commas, I have to reread your post several times to understand. Second, I think a train might be more efficient than someone pushing, so that would not take off. iron elevators, though, would increase how many people you can fit on an elevator.
  12. Dude, you can't name yourself the stormfather. That is, without having a stormfather profile pic. Here, you like this?

Victory is mine! We have another reader! (I hope)

  14. For this post, let's assume no and focus on feruchemy. We can do another thread for how a mix of the two will affect the things we suggest here. This is confusing, please elaborate Coppermind for legal purposes is a good idea. I did suggest that possibility for bronze (Oh my god, that means there will be people being paid to sleep! WE HAVE JUST CREATED A JOB WHERE YOU GET PAID TO SLEEP! XD) What part of the goldminds is dubious? Is it the fact we have to pay people to be sick to get the health, the fact that the goldminds will be expensive and hard to come by for the average person? There a lot of ways this can be considered dubious. I suggested the pewter thing as well, using a metalmind to try and cure depression... that can spark some interesting discussions. Might have to make a thread for that. Mind listing possibilities for iron and steel, you have me quite curious. And yeah, the heat one will be a pretty nice export. Wonder how they'll collect it? Will they just make a bunch of people do labor in the roughs with the metalmind and sell them once full?
  15. While the concept of that is interesting, it was not handled well and did affect the Recknor's trilogy negatively, making the ending abrupt and making Megan's powers weird and overpowered. I agree it's unwise and should be handled carefully. It being an advertisement is not necessarily bad, but BS did not handle it well and it ruined the ending of Calamity with a villain we had no investment in. Calamity was centered around Prof, not Calamity, and so adding Calamity's defeat felt contrived and just... there. It didn't feel triumphant. And it also felt a bit contrived at the end, where we clearly see BS moving pieces where he wants them to have that ending. Especially since he technically didn't need it, as Megan's power already confirmed alternate realities, we didn't need the god for that.
  16. Oh, he was fine. He liked the meme, though he felt it got repetitive at the end. He said not to make those (Videos where someone is getting beat up/killed a lot) for other memes to avoid offending them. And then he chastised me for double posting. Very similar to the last time in many ways, though this time, he went out of his way to PM me.
  17. With all due honesty, so am I. At this point, I have annoyed both Chaos and AonEne twice, Chaos with memes, and AonEne had to lock a thread because of me once when I just started coming on here. Thank you very much. Foolish enough to try pinging Chaos again, you mean? Oh, that is a long story. Yes, yes it was. Hmm, I am sensing confusion in this person. I still get taken aback by the number of pages on that thread. Brandon Sanderson Discussion, memes thread. yes, that. Hmm, seeing as I have not heard of your reaction, let me explain what happened for you and everyone in this forum. I was scrolling through Sanderson memes when I believe Frustration, @I Am A Fish, and few others spoke of their 'double votes' which is a glitch where if you're on a page and someone upvotes a person and then you upvote that person, it shows that you gave two Rep points. They all started memeing about the power of the upvote, and so, in my infinite wisdom, made this. I thought it would after making this it would be an amusing thing to ping Chaos himself, as well as a double post because my first post didn't have a link because I never posted a video before. Everyone started memeing about my craziness of pinging Chaos in general and then double posting on top of it. So I started making memes and pinging Chaos for each one. Fish decided to inform me that Chaos asked never to be pinged there, so I made another meme about how dead I was. And then Chaos messaged saying, "Yes, do not ping me for such silly things, please." And so I taunted death himself, got told by death never to try that again, and barely survived with being killed/banned. And so back to present day, a month later, I made another meme video and pinged him on it. Page 28 near the bottom.
  18. I'll be sure to stay off this thread.
  19. Sorry, I forgot to put this, but no Allomancy metalminds. the only ones we've seen is the Bands of Mourning, which is basically a god weapon, so only feruchemy.
  20. ...Yes, they are. Here is an objective fact in Empire Strikes Back; Luke got his hand cut off by Vader. That is objective, it clearly happened. if you were to say Luke's hand was cut off by Palpatine, you would be objectively wrong. There are scenes that can be interpreted differently, but there are objective things you can analyze in a scene, the event taking place, character progression, death, and more. Are there objective rules a story must follow to be good? No. Writing is one of those things where there can be an exception to any rule. What 'works' is more about the experience the person had with the movie, which is handling the subjective aspect of movie-making. The flashy lights, the visuals, the amazing CGI, are often a subjective experience. But what actually happens in the movie is objective. An example for the Last Jedi, is that the supremacy fight scene is claimed as bad and a main point for everyone is that a knife disappears in the middle of the fight, saving Rey's life. That is an objective thing; there was a knife in his hand, and then it was gone. That is not a subjective experience and is something you may not notice until you analyze a scene, as you are likely to miss it on first viewing. And again, I think we're arguing two different points. You are arguing people's enjoyment of a film, I'm arguing the what actually in the film, what exactly happened in the writing, what events are taking place, and whether or not they make sense under a more discerning eye. Because let's be clear, if you are just watching the movie to enjoy it, you are likely to miss stuff compared to you viewing it scene by scene and taking time to contemplate it. You said things were handled poorly, but I'm sure if you actually tried to find out why you think that, you would find many objective errors that they made. And as for discussion, it only derails if you let it. If both parties put away how they feel about a film and just try to look at it objectively, considering events and the logic behind them, you can have good discussions. That's difficult to do, however, as ripping apart a film you like is painful. Trust me, I know.
  21. YES. When I heard Megan's power were reality shifting rather than just illusions, I was like "You just stormed up big time. Stay away from that Sanderson. Stay away! It never works!" There are things you do not add to your universe lightly, time travel being the biggest one, but dimension traveling and manipulating is just as bad.
  22. Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed it. Hmm, my mistake. I'll be sure to include you in the next one. I had way to many people to fit. XD Glad you enjoyed it. I'm insulted. Not all my meme vid's are of people beating each other up. I made a nice one for @Spren of Kindness. See? To answer your question though, because it's Christmas, it would be of us celebrating rather than fighting. One of the things I would use is the ending of FMA:B after the final battle. That one has some feels. And Chaos would be alive... somehow, still thinking on how to do that.
  23. Yes, the cat is quite adorable, but it doesn't really relate to the thread at all.
  24. @Condensation When you look back through your meme vid and notice that Condensation corrected you for misspelling experience but not for forgetting to add a 'th' behind the 17 of 17th Shard
