Ara smiled at Minuet, though inside she was still a little afraid of the girl. That was Ara’s fault, of course. Selfish of her to hold onto her fears just because— Ara nodded to Exodus, then started to make her way out of the doorway and down the stairs.
-
She smiled a bit, acknowledging to herself maybe she had been worried about just that. “That’s good to hear. Still, I should learn enough not to get myself in trouble.”
-
“That’s an overstatement. I helped, but not singlehandedly…” Ara’s gaze hardened for a moment, looking at no point in particular. “I do want to learn to do more, though, justify my presence here.” I won’t just be a burden.
-
Ara snorted. “Seems like that’s my primary skill.”
-
“Oh, I don’t know. I just flailed around, really.”
-
“Good morning! You were awesome yesterday, fighting off those people.” Ara was just glad, this time, no one had died, and she had managed to avoid collapsing into a pile of self-pity.
-
Ara woke, stretching and yawning. The road was not kind to her, though she was beginning to grow used to it. Still, a bed was a nice change of pace. Ara reached down, gathering up her tools and materials with practiced hands. She had spent the night working on some things for Exodus and Minuet. Some little things to maybe help them open up some more. They both seemed so lonely. Ara knew what it was like to be afraid to reach out, so she knew she had to help them. All packed up, Ara grabbed her bag, slipped on a shirt and some trousers she had bought in town (she was still getting used to those, but they were infinitely better than dresses), and pulled the door open with a flourish. “Good morning, Ex! Feeling any better today?”

I’ll join. It’s been awhile since I’ve joined a new RP, and I like this concept.

“I’m sure she has her reasons.” Ara picks herself up off the ground, looking at Rylia with a hurt expression. “Let’s hear her out.”
-
“No! Stop!” Ara leapt in from of the blade, brain not registering it could kill her, she didn’t have time to think. All she knew was that someone was trying to kill Exodus, and that there was a lot she seemed to not know.

I like both the other girls, too, but I doubt you’ve met them yet.

Oooh. Amphibia is great! There are a lot of filler episodes, but all the characters are so gooood.

Kaesiel grimaced at the craft. “I’m not particularly sure what those are, but they seem to be hostile and headed our way.”

I have no preference for placement. I could go first, last, or anywhere in between. -

I’m up for doing this again! Thanks for getting the ball rolling, Xino. -
Okay, another thought after re-listening to this episode. Not sure if it’s plot significant, but it’s an interesting thematic connection at least that neither of the two people who we see having the title “he who quiets” can hear the rhythms, which definitely plays along the quietness theme.

Oooh, nice! I haven’t finished the exandria unlimited episode, yet, but the last episode in C2 is a… rollercoaster, to say the least. Edit: Also, hello my partner in the Nott the Greatest Detective Agency.

Ara didn’t need to be told twice, though she felt like a coward for it, she ran, holding her skirts up to avoid catching them on the twigs and leaves underfoot.

Ara looked down at the etching in her hand. Probably not a good idea to use that one now. It would be distracting, but probably also for Exodus and whatever he was doing. Instead, Ara reached for a large branch on the ground, hefting it like a club, swinging wildly at any orcs that got too near to Expdus. She hoped she looked threatening, because she certainly didn’t feel that way.

“Yeah. Unless... I mean... try not to kill them, if you can help it.”

Glad you liked my limericks! I was planning on you just picking the one you liked best and only reading that one, but this was much better! Fair point on the last one and that character not being super dead. I didn’t think of that. RoW spoilers:

“Walls... change color, yes? I thought this was known. You humans change their colors on purpose, correct?”
-
“Mmmmmwhat is the matter?”

Ara had to stop herself from wretching at the blood. Can’t we talk to them? But Exodus had said they were too savage to reason with. Ara just had to grit her teeth and be okay with this. She couldn’t have another breakdown like last time. That would make her useless, and who would stay with someone who useless? It would be selfish to let her own emotions through. So, Ara pulled out the same light etching she had used before. She still wasn’t sure if she wanted to kill any of these creatures. She called out “When throw this thing, there’s gonna be a lot of light! I would, uh, close your eyes when I tell you.” Then, without warning, a sword swung at her head. Ara yelped, instinctively holding the Duster out. As the sword passed through the air near the long instrument, the blade seemed to be cleaved in two with a hissing sound. Metal shavings fell to the ground, and the sheared half of the sword clanked to the mulch. Luckily, the leaves and grass were damp enough that the metal, not glowing a molten red, didn’t ignite it. Ara stumbled back, and the orc tried to pursue. But as it did, it found it couldn’t move its feet. They were stuck to the ground. Looking around for the source, it shouted out as its own shadow extended into the third dimension, growing and glowing to become Memory, who nodded to Ara, then looked to Exodus and Minuet. “This one is immobilized.” @Trutharchivist
