The beach chair was soft under Natron’s back as he reclined in the noonday sun. He let out a contented sigh, closing his eyes and relaxing. Big mistake. Natron opened his eyes to a different sun shining above. Hmm. I seem to have done it again. Calmly, Natron closed his eyes once more, absentmindedly wondering where he had ended up this time and trying to daydream himself back to the free kingdoms. Nothing happened, and Natron opened his eye once more, sighing. Well, no time like the present to see what this place was. Natron sat up, casually reaching and stretching his hands toward the sun, fingers cracking as he yawned. His chair had come with him, this time. Convenient, that. Last time he had accidentally transported himself his bed hadn’t come transported, too. That had been rather annoying. Natron started walking, leaving his plastic beach chair laying in the dirt behind him, absentmindedly rolling a coin over knuckles. There seemed to be a town up ahead. Best to see what that was all about.

That’s awesome! I wasn’t aware they made those, but it seems obvious they would. Have you finished the last Trials of Apollo book, yet? SAME! I’m wearing it now! -

Ara sat up, still shaking, but not from fear, anymore. Memory whispered panicked in her mind. “I’m... okay...” She had to put on a strong face. She didn’t want anyone to worry about her. Shakily, Ara stood, making her way over to Minuet and Shadow. “What was that?” Both of them looked visibly shaken, too. “Are you two alright?”
-
Ara collapsed to the ground, overcome by an intense fear. Something she had only felt once before. The rune dropped from her limp fingers, and tears started falling to the ground. Ara was shaking, memories flooding back. “No...”
-
Ara winced. So much for deception. She started slowly backing away. Seeing Shadow’s aggressive stance, she said “Careful... I mean, try not to kill any of them. They’re just doing their job.” Then, Ara whispered so that the soldiers couldn’t hear, pulling a rune from her pocket. “Shadow, when I throw this, it will make a big flash of light and sound. Listen for my signal and plug your ears when you hear it.”

Well, I was hoping I wouldn’t have to do this. Ara tries to suppress the shaking in her hands, holding one arm in the other, she takes a step foreword, trying to project authority. ”I am Lady Auriel Orius of House Orius, and I take insult at your insinuation that I am a liar! Now, when you go back to your lord, tell him you have insulted an Elevated One so! Now, begone!” Ara winced inwardly. Poor soldier. Hopefully word of this encounter didn’t get back to her family. Ara had gone quite some time without having to run into them.
-
Ara was hoping this would be as easy as “she doesn’t want to come? Okay, she can stay with you.” I guess not. He seems okay, maybe I can reason with him? Appeal to his sense of morality? Ara says “Then, perhaps we should just go our separate ways. I doubt either of us want anything on our conscience, right? Do you have family at home? What would they think?”

“Advised... how, exactly? We wouldn’t turn her over, if we did have her.”

Stormlight Adaption - Random Thoughts
JesterLavorre replied to Spren of Kindness's topic in Stormlight Archive
To end this self-blame train, how about I interject a few of my thoughts? I think this could work as a cameo, although it may be fun to have him play a world hopper so that he can appear in multiple Cosmere franchises. Maybe Felt? He doesn’t have a huge role in anything, but he’s a known world hopper who gets a few lines. Of course, if becomes more prominent later in the Cosmere, that may not work as well. Maybe he can be the worldhopping Kandra? Okay, I’ve thought way too much about this... The prologue should function the same way it does in the books. At the start of each season, there should be a flashback to gavilar’s death. The prelude. I think it could be weird to start the first season with two flashbacks. I think it may work best to interject this into the first season in the middle somewhere. This way, we can learn about the lore of the heralds first, before the truth being revealed to us. I think WoR and TWoK should be combined into one season of 10 to 14 episodes (10 would be appropriate thematically). This way, we can get to the main storyline of stopping the voidbringers quickly. While I would love to have more time for the first two books, I think dragging out the time before the primary enemies of the series arrive for two whole seasons will lose audience interest pretty fast. -

“I’m sure we can come to some peaceful accord we are both happy with. Why is it you want her?”

Cally turns to Alvin, trying to ignore the fairy on her shoulder. Well, this is certainly an experience. So many successful social connections! “Um, professor, what... are you?” Cally winces at the phrasing. Flustered, she tries to correct herself. “Sorry! I just mean, I’ve never seen someone of your race before.” -

Ara steps up. Time to use some of that political training Hayl gave me. “Who do you want? We already told you we haven’t seen the girl. What house do you serve, soldier?”
-
Let’s cut this off before it escalates too far. Guen things to himself. “I think we are all hoping for the best with this mission. I don’t approve of misleading like that, but if Cork thinks he can handle himself, I trust him. Now, shall we keep moving? This place gives me the creeps.”

Well, I think everyone has already said everything I was going to. I’m so glad you posted this! It was a fun read. All the characters seemed exactly like they do in the books. I always love crossover stories. Just seeing characters interact with each other is so fun!

The Iconar Collective (OUTDATED)
JesterLavorre replied to Channelknight Fadran's topic in Creator's Corner
Ooh! I like this chapter. Both characters seem interesting. Oblivion seems very different than traditional demons, which I like. It’s just good to learn some more about demons, really. I wish we had some more description of what Oblivion looked like, but if you want to save that for later, that’s fine. I was a little confused as to what Realm this took place in. I first assumed it was the demon realm, but then there were human guards talking about arcanists, so I was confused by that.- 320 replies

The Iconar Collective - Roleplay

The bottom of the page is stained with fruit juice, but the rest reads: “Fairies eat dreams, memories, and souls of Sjor. This fairy has magical abilities. Do they all? They say they were going to be executed for their wit. Is this a normal Fairy tradition, I wonder?” There are also some directions scribbled at the bottom, reminders on where to find the Academy of Arcana.
