Some scientific facts:
- Monty Python is the cinema equivalen of jazz.
- The scariness of a spider is not proportional to the size of the spider, but rather to the length of the spider's legs. Tarantulas are awesome and everyone knows it, but black widows are the freakiest and most hideous creatures known to man.
- When you're staring at the glowing red numbers on your alarm clock and all the shapes start to warp and corrupt, it is not your eyes playing tricks on you but rather your mind being suspended to the Plane of Dreams.
- Right next door to that is the Plane of the Forgotten, which is where pencils go when you drop them behind the couch and can't find them again.
- There was a little turtle tank in the nurse's office at my elementary school. This is not relevant but I just remembered that which I think is cool.
- There are three types of Ghibli fans: The normie Howl's Moving Castle enjoyers, the inexperienced Spirited Away watchers, and the chad Nausicaa stans. I've yet to meet another soul whose favorite Ghibli is Castle in the Sky yet, which means that the Truth has yet to spread to the masses
- Cool ranch doritos are meh at best and you know it.
- The masses fear the weebs, for people fear what they cannot know - that is, they do not fear true weebs, but rather the Demon Slayer junkies who haven't the spine to watch or read anything longer or more braindead than that. In fact, true weebs fear these junkies as well.
- People who ship Legolas and Gimli are stupid. People who ship Legolas and Aragorn are not. If you require an explanation for what happens with Arwen in this universe, simply leave it to Gimli to put on the charm because turns out he's really into elves.
- People who ship Frodo and Sam are stupider, and anyone who says otherwise will taste my katana.
- Before TotK came out, I considered BotW to be the best Zelda Game, and A Link to the Past to be the best Zelda Game. With this new addition to the cast, both those titles hang in the balance.
- I will not read your writing if it's in Arial font. All good prose deserves serifs.
- The Batman (2022) has no right being as good as it is.
- If you put me in the trolley problem scenaro to gather data you'd have to rule me out as an anomaly because whatever I decide to do is ultimately at odds with my innate clumsiness.
- I wonder if emptying your brain is a good way to knock yourself unconscious for the night? Or am I just forcing it to think harder about things that it really shouldn't when I'm trying to sleep?
- That last one wasn't a fact.
- It was a question.
- Tamales are either gross or made by a bona fide mexican guy and there is no in-between.
- It is impossible to make a good churro, which is the point.
- Sheev Palpatine really needs to work on his branding. The "Tragedy" of Darth Plagueis the Wise is barely a few lines of dialogue long - that isn't a tragedy, that's a synopsis. Give me a remake where the opera Anakin meets him at is a three-act musical about the rise and fall of Darth Plagueis, complete with a greek chorus and dudes wearing coconuts.
- Everyone says The Minish Cap is the most underrated Zelda game, which I think is ironic.
- By cubic meter you're actually hotter than the sun. Light also escapes you much faster than it does the core of that thing.
- I'm tired. I just yawned. What a day.
- You're yawning too now.
- Goodnight.

Musical Theory and Classical Compositions are super interesting because I find it totally awesome whenever you can derive some kind of art from math and science.
But every time I look into it I'm constanly reminded about how impossible it is to quantify music, because all those youtube channels that break down tunes will be like "This is the chord progression, which is a common form of question and answer - a basic tenet of all musical composition," and then in the same breath will say something like, "and then they throw in this chord, which works because it sounds good" and I'm all (>._.)>

I don't do these anymore but...
Secret Project #3 spoilers (up to chapter 11 so not that bad)SpoilerWHY IS YUMI AND THE NIGHTMARE PAINTER CURRENTLY IDENTICAL TO A MOVIE I WATCHED LITERALLY TWO DAYS AGO.
Your Name. (yes the period is in the name) is a 2016 film which I won't majorly spoil since it's very good and you should watch it. However in the first third the two main characters periodically switch bodies. One is a shrine maiden from rural japan and the other is a boy from tokyo.
Yumi and the Nightmare Painter is a 2023 book which I can't spoil since I haven't read it all yet. However in the first part of the book which I have read, the two main characters periodically switch bodes. One is a holy girl from a medieval planet and the other is a boy from a modernish city. Sound familiar?I am going insane?
Your Name. spoilers (Seriously go watch it first!!! This is a major part of the plot and will lessen your experience of the movie!)
Spoileris yumi going to be hit by a meteor

The absolute whiplash I felt when I went to the next song on my required listening playlist for my music class, and it was Fur Elise, by Ludwig von Beethoven (190 songs I have to know the names and composers of, ah!) and it was primarily flute.
It was actually a pretty neat version, I'm just used to Fur Elise being For Piano, it just is.
While I have ya here, why do you think colonel is spelled like it is, but pronounced like it is?
-
Colonel is french which is why none of the letters are actually pronounced the way they look

multiverse of madness is...kinda mid
its a fun watch
but........ehI think this movie is a great example of how Marvel is...dying. painfully.
i left the theater like "that was... definitely a marvel movie. another marvel movie. just another marvel movie."
it's just full of little formulaic marvelisms that are painfully predictable
"here comes a quippy one-liner! I can tell exactly where, when, and how this story beat resolves. well that character definitely isn't dead"marvel is dying under the weight of its past movies, and this movie makes that painfully clear
as a completely stand-alone movie, sure, its pretty good
but you literally can't judge it as a stand-alone movie
it depends on too many other marvel properties -
The moment when you find out that the new book series you've started recently, that is really, really good, isn't done, and the next book releases in December.
Heck yeah!
SpoilerSomeone stop me from buying the first three books in this series. They're ten dollars each as mass market... it'd only be thirty dollars...

(watch Sanderson's video y'all )
SpoilerWOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH LET'S FREAKIN' GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Sanderson never fails to amaze me

The rate at which he writes books has gone from "haha kinda funny" to "genuinely terrifying." Like I'm going to be afraid to go to sleep tonight for fear that Brandon might go on a writing sprint and drown us all in all the new books he wrote during it

Hello, everyone-who-bothers-to-read-my-status-updates! Sorry if this is a bit weird, I'm currently in a weird mood.
Anyway, I've been considering starting something of an RP. Ignoring the fact that I'm already in three inactive RPs, some of them may be so partially due to a fault of mine. After all, I'm SPUCE in two of them (I can say so even while doing nothing for those games, as the "Self Proclaimed" is right there in the acronym).
Anyway, I've been debating on that, and decided to start off by asking here first - after all, people who read this are theoretically interested in some of my ideas. The idea was of a support group for people who passed through to other worlds or dimensions. It was inspired originally by a sentence from a book I read - the Wishing Spell, book 1 in the Land of Stories series by Chris Colfer. At first I wanted to write a fanfic about it, but now I think that trying an RP might be better and more entertaining.
What do you think?
Thank you for reading my useless rambles!
Yours, Trutharchivist (aka TA, or Arch)

My school is putting on a talent show so some friends and I decided to put together a band (I play electric bass). We practiced our song and got it pretty good. Then auditions happened today so we had to come up with a band name. We had been throwing around some ideas, but I convinced them to settle on The Fires of Heaven. I have never been happier. This marks the beginning of a long career of naming stuff after fantasy stuff.
(Note to self: Future things to give Sanderson names: bands, hats, instruments, cats, children.)

*AHEM*
*coughs*
'Scuse me. Had a frog in my thoat. DID ANYONE HERE LOSE A FROG???
Anyways.
Hi there! Hello! It's me, I'm
the Adstronautthat one guy! I'm out here in statusland to summon some folks.See, awhile back (and I mean a while back) I started a roleplay called Fellowship of the Thing. It was a pretty simple idea: all the universes are connected, so people can play characters from their own stories or anyone else's in a big adventuring group. It was originally called "I'm bored; let's mess around," and frankly that's all we really did.
It evolved. That's what things do. Now it's kind of a multiversal battleground of crazy magic and awesome characters. Frankly, it's awesome.
But all our writers are GONE.
A whole slew of characters have simply vanished into the abyss. Vapor, Jek, Nathrangking, Fox, all of Xino's J-names... and everyone who joined in after the OGs left are gone now too. The thread has died down, and all the side plots are vanishing under the massive piles of failed RPs.
Maybe that's for the best: allow the behemoth to fade away so that something new can blossom out. The likes of Arcalla, Zvso, Spaaaaaaaaaaace, and the others can have their moment in the spotlight. Perhaps it's a good thing that Fellowship of the Thing has fallen?
...
Nah.
So that's why I made this SU! I need some folks to help revive my child. There are all sorts of people running amuck in the RP subforum nowadays, and I'm going to drop their names in this spoiler box below so I can properly guilt-trip them into joining Fellowship of the Thing!
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!
SpoilerAnd here are some old-timers who're still up and kicking it:
@Spren of Kindness (yes, I know you're carrying Earth 2767 rn, but bringing the Hugspren back would be anything but a bad idea)
@Matrim's Dice (you're allowed to run more than one person)@Ookla of Anarchy and Chaos (I guess you're still hanging out but I'm summoning you anyway)
And here are some folks who might be interested(?):
@Robin Hatter (I've seen you hanging out on Forum Games, but have you ever considered consistency?)
@Elf (you're a cool person! I think!)
@Frustration (you were in Side Tales but if you'd wanna maybe help worldbuild completely new universes via characters that'd be pretty cool )
@Ookla the Enthralled (you cannot escape me)
Aaaaand here're the folks who were still hanging out on Fellowship of the Thing last I checked:

For the past year or two I've kind of been in a reading rut. I've struggled to find anything I wanted to read and to get the motivation to read it.
That's why, right now, the first suggestion in the replies I will be OBLIGATED to read, given I haven't read it before.

SPIDERMAN IS SOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOD
SpoilerAnyone want a thread? I need to rant. Or we can just talk in spoiler boxes like this.
-
So after watching Dune and a couple Star Wars films, I've gotten into the vibe of hard-science space operas, and I think I might try to write one.
Would anyone be interested in updates? Joining in? Or maybe I could just make an RP to sate my weirdly specific creative urge. What do y'all think?

A Poem, for your evening. Morning. Whenever you see this.
Unbidden, I have many thoughts,
And yet,
Have been given no voice,
With which to speak
And be
Heard
Is this actually a poem? Is it just words that I hit the enter key on?
-
Anything's a poem, if you want it to be.
That's the beauty of poetry.
In fact,
Right now,
I declare this post a poem
And it shall be so.-
