    I think it's tied with taste as the least valuable sense. It can be nice, but it turns against you so often it almost isn't worth it.

    They're great. I think it's probably one of my favorite series. The author wrote them in Danish, but she translated them into English herself. In it, a girl inherited the ability to make people feel ashamed just by looking them in the eyes. Kind of like shamefiller's lenses, except it doesn't make them explode. I can't tell you much more since I tend to forget books shortly after reading them. They've made movies out of the first two books that follow the storyline pretty well, but they're in Danish.

    Well, Hoid is basically immortal, so it's impossible to make a ratio for that. Hartemis (can you think of a better name?) wouldn't last because Artemis would age way faster than Holly. Also, are you saying she's about his physical or mental age?

    Sunday night was fun. I set a pair of shorts on the bathroom counter. That counter also had a lit candle on it. I looked over and, not having my glasses on, noted that the flame was abnormally large. That was when I realized that my shorts were on fire.

    I threw the shorts on the ground, trying to stamp out the fire and burning my toe a bit. Luckily, I had the presence of mind to put the shorts in the shower. My left hand got some first- or second-degree burns, but worst of all, I lost my favorite pair of shorts. At least the cremation was free.
