  1. Ohhhh okay that makes sense. I'm used to raysium just drawing things into gemstones apparently.
  2. Probably not everyone, or not everyone with Seeker-like abilities. But it is making me think twice about Smokers. Raysium powers would be cool, but probably need 2 actively-used Investiture sources - one to draw from, one to give to. And it probably should be fairly slow so it doesn't end up a Leech + Nicroburst bundle. ... I like my Savants Maybe slow it, but reversing would mean healing long-term Spiritual damage which is apparently complicated.
  3. Ash: "Hey I want to make a mostly skill-based DA character with a only slightly useful Investiture, I'm thinking A-Copper." Alleyverse: "What if we made everyone a Seeker!"
  4. "I like this one." I do wonder how many forms of meta-Investitures is too much (Leeching, Nicrobursting, Aluminum-canceling, Seeking, Smoking, and that's just if we don't add anything new). Also some form of making Allomancy at least different, if not superior. Like Mac's temporary Leeching/suppressing idea, that's cool.
  5. I think Sanax and Deteca are technically Voidmakers, but not to the same scale. ... is it Sanax or Xanas, or just both?
  6. I'm not really sure what Voidmaking is besides A-Chromium, so I'm not entirely sure... I just know it's worth a lot more points. But if the Forgery breakdown starts proliferating powers, I could see Voidmaking being one of those.
  7. Is there an anti-void? From what I gather Voidmaking is very similar to A-Chromium, could an Anti-Voidmaking be similar to A-Nicrosil drawing Investiture from somewhere?
  8. Cassie looked very carefully at NullBlade's face. He hadn't been scared, per say, but what she read from him he wasn't the type to get scared easily. Unnerved was a better word. But when she'd asked him what was wrong, a whole new series of emotions crossed his face. Unnerved, slightly. And confused? And... there was one she was missing. NullBlade wasn't the most open book, and he recovered quickly... although that strange feeling still twisted his brow. "No, I'm alright, just a bit surprised by the earthquake. Though if you want to shorten my name, please call me Blade. 'Null' is how my wife used to call me so hearing you say it feels weird." Sorrow. Cassie sat still for a moment. She missed some of her old friends, but she'd never really lost anyone. No one who mattered that deep. It had been a long time since she'd left Scadrial, and even then there was still mail from time to time. When had the last letter been, a month ago? That had been en route to the Alleyverse, of course. She wasn't in the Alleyverse a month ago. "I'm sorry... Blade," she said, trying to give a small smile. Then she looked at the nurse. He still hadn't said anything and was rubbing his head. "Are you alright? That was a pretty big..." Wait. Earthquake? As if on queue the floor gave another small shudder. Right. The earthquake. That's what jarred NullBlade so. She must have panicked and lashed out at the vibrations. They did feel strange in the depths of her left arm. Was it getting weaker now? She couldn't tell. "Are you alright? And do we need to leave?" @mathiau Byron was panicking. He's not in the bubble. He's not in the bubble. He's not in the bubble. HE'S NOT IN THE BUBBLE. He wasn't sure how close he was to just bolting. He just stood in shock, vaguely aware of the doctor taking his hand as he watched the new arrival - Sanax - waltz through everything his power stood for. The bubble was supposed to be safe. It was supposed to be slow. It was supposed to be Byron calm down and focus. So he did. Even without the unnatural quickness of Sanax's movements, he could see a faint... vibration to his being, like an inability to stand perfectly still. He briefly pulsed his cadmium, letting five precious seconds slip by in just the one for him. Sanax became a momentary blur of motion. Okay. So he's not in the bubble. That made him very dangerous, and from what he could pick up from the doctor's speech, Sanax and the other patient were very dangerous already. The other patient - Vivica - seemed... well, it seemed impossible to understand what she meant, let alone intended. Something about baking and coats and needles and... mollusks? But she seemed more interested in the new doctor/visitor who'd arrived. Reshilore. That was okay with Byron, at least for now. But there was something about the way she moved, like she was waiting for an opportunity, but also waiting for something to... change... Then Sanax moved. Faster than he'd expected even factoring the reverse time dilation. He started talking - Byron caught most of it as he jumped around the room. Nurse Victoria - a Soother. That explained... a lot actually. Reshilore... something unInvested because he wasn't... hungry? Was Sanax a Seeker? Then suddenly he was right in front of Byron, introducing himself. Sanax Khaevarin. Some kind of... entity. So not human. And he ate... light? "Introduce yourself for us, good sir. Your bubble's very nice. Very smooth." Well, if the nurse was Soothing him, she'd better keep doing it. He was having a hard enough time keeping his cadmium burn down as it was. "I'm Byron," he said, too unsettled to lie. "I only got to the city a few weeks ago, I think. I don't know what day it is. I was running down a street because I thought I'd seen a spren or something following me and then something dark jumped out at me and next thing I knew I was burning so much cadmium I couldn't move until someone downstairs Leeched me and then I saw another dark think heading this way." He blinked. "And I'm a Pulser. Sort of. I burn cadmium a lot. And the bubble follows me around." He glanced at Vivica again. Sanax seemed to know her... but it was almost like he thought she needed no introduction. Oh, what had he gotten himself into... @Fatebreaker @ZincAboutIt @18th Shard
  9. There's a canon cap on Roshar. We don't know about other places But yeah those things could use some limitations.
  10. Sleepless should still be 45 points post-Dawnshard, right?
  11. This does tie into something I'm wondering if has been a character previously... has anyone been a Fused? I'm tempted to try an adapt a Deepest One as a character, or give my budding DA agent a similar ability. But Deepest Ones are... quite different than just a Cohesion spike.
  12. STE technically already has some Cytoverse connections. At least, it's an option in Character Creation, and something I'm thinking of "uncovering" in Byron for the turn of the Era. However, I can't think of a character I've seen who actually fully leans into the Cytoverse, so it's definitely something a group could try to connect more strongly.
  13. ... wow. Yes, something it is 0.o Not a bad song though! I randomly found Jar of Hearts again after... ten something years.
  14. Side note: Cassie won't see them anymore because she got successfully reset/re-programmed/something. Byron can see some of them; what I'm running with right now is a shadow monster tried to pull him into the forgery due to a slight variation (whether from overhearing Aln's questions or his Alley trips or his potentially worldhopper parents) but didn't fully succeed because of his self-stop trick. He doesn't remember exactly what happened and his 'weirdness' is more defined, but he also isn't mindwiped yet. But that's all mostly theoretical and can change if it messes with things. Cassie's directly involved now so Byron can be a bit indirectly so.
  15. We've been playing kind of wild with who can see them and who can't, so up to you probably. ... I definitely knew they were supposed to be invisible
  16. Missed what? Also, Byron's going to have some fun with this. I don't think he's ever met Null so Sanax going through his bubble is new, and the rest... I wonder what Stranger and Sudoiv would see if Victoria and Reshilore suddenly exit the normal flow of time significiantly. If Sanax can beat Byron's bubble I'd imagine a pair of gods could, but it's fun to thing about Edit: 100 pages!
  17. I mean, Byron's previous Alleyverse experience has been being thrown into a wall by an aluminum truck, random adventures with Aln, randomly running around in slow motion chasing down plot hooks that never showed up while trying to figure out if he was cytonic or not, getting time-bubble-frozen by himself to fend off a shadow beast, then waking up in a maybe-collapsing hospital with absolutely no idea what happened in the median. This is still probably a record for him but he's had a very confusing month
  18. May want to censor it to Rust or Storm or something but that's hilarious
  19. So I was reading through to try and find the early Alleyverse threads And there’s a small one about an Alley Turnpike And nobody made a pun about it being the Turnspike What is this world coming to
  20. Whistles innocently Or maybe Cassie/Byron being pseudo-unForged can see them, yeah, that’s it
  21. Oof. Hope you get everything together! I should be able to run the LG? Might be a bit interesting to see what school does this next week, but I’ve got a simplified Honorblade game I could do. I forget if I’m next in line though.
  22. Well, Cassie has been reset. Luckily just the last minute or so for her, but that was an important minute
  23. "No, they're coming out of the door. And the rift's shrinking now. Like-" Like what? The two had to be connected, even if they were just in her head. So what were they doing, just attacking? The nurse didn't seem to see a rift or the shadows. Null just saw the shadows. She saw both. Why did she see both? Cassie just reached out her Soulcaster, trying to watch the ceiling. NullBlade attacked the snake that just feel off the nurse, who'd simply collapsed, staring blankly. What was happening. What was- Something wrapped around her face. Something she couldn't see. Cassie thrashed her arms at it for a moment, but whatever it was had a grip. She couldn't feel it, couldn't Soulcast- Everything is fine. She flared iron, looking for something to Pull- What's the matter? Another feeling, trying to find purchase in a rigid mind- Why can you see? There's nothing to be afraid of. Cassie blinked. She was sitting down. Of course she was sitting down, it hurt to walk. It had been a long time since she'd had to get pricked with a needle. Plus all the talk of Hemalurgy and seeing Lord's mercenaries... it was unnerving. Maybe she'd spooked the nurse, too. He'd dropped the needle, and was standing up from picking it up off the floor, muttering an apology. But NullBlade, was standing, looking at her, arms out. "Null? Is something wrong? If you want to go first I don't really mind." Byron was beginning to realize that finding the thing shadow snakes were trying to hunt may not be the best idea. There were two people in the room. One was very clearly a doctor. The other was... clearly not. She didn't look sick, aside from a few old scars, but Byron knew enough that those ones tended to be dangerous. They were also both on the floor. No wonder he'd fallen too, this earthquake must be stronger than he thought. They both stood up quickly and looked at him. Great. Well, now wasn't a time to get all scared of socializing. "There appears to be an earthquake. You can either head towards the emergency exits, or wait with us here. I am Dr. Estrella, may I ask your name and whether you are simply visiting today or a patient?" Byron opened his mouth to respond, then noticed the patient's stare. She took a few steps closer to him. Okay, that was... unnerving. But he trusted his reactions. Then suddenly another doctor - maybe he was a doctor - ran past him and hugged Dr. Estrella. That drew the patient's attention. Nevermind then. The doctor looked back. "I'm sorry, I didn't catch your Name?" "Oh. Sorry," Byron said, feeling a bit more sure of himself. "I'm Ben. I... think I'm a patient here, but I don't really know how I got here. I think my cadmium got a bit out of control and I just froze until it burned out. But there's also little black... snake-like things that were crawling on the walls. And then the earthquake. And three of those things were headed this way before they went... somewhere else." What had happened that day? He still hadn't really figured it out. He'd overcharged his cadmium, which meant he was really scared of something. But he couldn't remember what it was, just that it was... dark. Had it been one of those things, or just a thug that he wasn't able to handle? Then he felt... something. A twitching in his bubble. Not in this room, but maybe the next one. Something different than the small tremors that kept happening. Could that be what the dark things were going for? Because it was moving very, very fast. "Something next door is moving. Weirdly. Something's wrong." @18th Shard (And the others, who are being quoted which takes up more space than I thought it would...)
