Quick Fix 65: More Deception: Murder in the Cosmere
Ashbringer replied to Araris Valerian's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I’m inclined to read things literally, so I wouldn’t call something simple very Twisted. Most wounds would be Intact. Soulcasting would probably be Altered but idk what other things fit Twisted over Altered.- 528 replies

Quick Fix 65: More Deception: Murder in the Cosmere

Religious worship, but not in a temple/church or a place of worship. Which... ow. Sel has temples and the like, but extends religious services outside of them a lot. Scadrial has temples only for the Steel Ministry in Era 1, which kind of reminds me of Sazed spreading religions? Then Era 2 has organized religion but not at the forefront. Roshar has Vorinism, but they both do have temples and don't have much in the way of services. Nalthis... maybe, but their temple is a pretty big thing (unless it's giving a Returned a Breath outside of the temple somewhere random... hey that was my random game idea). Taldain... yeah idk but Coppermind says they have a religion with the Sand Lord. Then Threnody/FotS are still options.- 528 replies

Quick Fix 65: More Deception: Murder in the Cosmere

Do we think "Evidence Left Behind" would be solely referring to the Pieces of Evidence? I guess it depends what Araris decides to do, but do we think he'd use it that way? Only Manmade but not-Writing evidence I've got is the Hairpin. Method is... most are still possible. Feels like it's probably Reo (punishment), but could also mean the disruption of a different Aon like how the Reod made an extra chasm line necessary? But I feel like we could interpret it either way.- 528 replies

Okay school is coming back soon so yay. One thing I might try and look at is more of the reverse-ends, ie where ‘Naked’ is more indicitive of there not being a specific clothing that would be worn. Also Grey Patch might mean Awakening? Couldn’t find anything specific.- 528 replies

Quick Fix 65: More Deception: Murder in the Cosmere

Jyde gave a grin. The Dahkor was definitely something he knew. More than Jekyll even, as much as a scholar as that one was. The Dahkor Rituals needed sacrifice - not only one ordered by many other monks, but of the ones he'd seen, they required a willing participant. Certainly not an Accident. Not a Poison/Sickness either. But from my memory, the sacrifice is essentially reduced, disintegrated - it's not Loss of Blood that kills them, nor a Suffocation. Perhaps you could say it's a Severe Injury, to the soul. But in Jyde's book - and it's a good book - the Dahkor is Supernatural through and through. Enough! Jyde clutched his head, then scrambled for the glass he'd set down and took a deep drink, shuddered, and twisted himself back into Jekyll.- 528 replies

Quick Fix 65: More Deception: Murder in the Cosmere
Ashbringer replied to Araris Valerian's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Jekyll's hand quivered a moment. He quickly raised his glass to his lips and - too late. My turn. The man's skin rippled, appearing for a brief moment transparent and flexible, before solidifying into another pattern. Not as overt as other transformations, or even the one he was basing it off of. But clearly different people. And clearly something was wrong with this one. Jyde - Hyde? eh, the pattern says Jyde - gave a grin. Spiking punch, eh? It was something he could have done. Much easier to do with other things, but oh he could have done it. And so much more. (Edit: Also I'm back from the trip I mentioned, so I should be normally-active instead of not-active.)- 528 replies

Quick Fix 65: More Deception: Murder in the Cosmere
Ashbringer replied to Araris Valerian's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Jekyll looked at the various boxes in front of him. A set of evidence that he could use or leave behind in the event of a murder. He wasn't a murderer, of course, not this time. Or at least Jekyll wasn't. There was that... other business, but he had it under control. He sipped from a goblet of a watery-green liquid. Anyway, the contents of the crates were his now. His 'possessions'. While he hadn't exactly been expecting to receive the rusting Bands of Mourning, the usefulness of the items were... not as impressive as he'd imagined. Not a scrap of Investiture, unless you counted the two wild animals. He'd only encountered a nightmaw once, and while it had proven ferocious, it had been quite difficult to handle. Although if he could find a way to mimic its ability to sense minds... well, the trick would be to do that without dying. Jekyll doubted a nightmaw would be able to kill him, or even trigger the Lifeline, but it would still try to eat him which would just not go well for all parties involved. The rest... another live whitespine with the potential for further biological adaptations, but nothing a trip through Roshar couldn't find him. Then a common poison, a literal rock, and... a punch? As if the rest of the potential perpetrators were incapable of using their fists as weapons? Jekyll sighed. Well, it could have been worse. Somehow.- 528 replies

Honestly I'm tempted to delay my slot until a point it makes sense to run my Shard game, as I don't have another slot for a long while. But my schedule conflict ends Thursday and the LG wouldn't start by then anyway, and I have a simpler ruleset I could run.

I'm now realizing that Faleast is going to get one heck of a lootbox if the Methods and Evidences are a similar pool of items. The rusting Bands of Mourning were in one set- 528 replies

That one may break the pattern to keep the pattern, we'll see. I did just read The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde for a class so it's on the mind- 528 replies

Byron stood up, leaning back into a wall and slowly shuffling away from the door. He could help set up defenses later. For now, Cobalt and Vivi and Willow needed speed, and that was the opposite of what he did. Maybe after they made a barricade he could put his bubble up on the edge, deflect some energy from those things trying to tear it down. If they did. ... he wasn't burning cadmium. He'd turned it off in midair and never turned it back on. He started burning a little, again making a small weak bubble that just encapsulated him. Must be easier to leave it off when he was running on adrenaline instead of metal. "If they're like the other things I've seen... they're not too bright," he said, panting slightly while trying to talk in his normal slightly-too-fast tone. "These seem to care more about actual sight than anything. Or acknowledgement. So just don't acknowledge them and try and... try and be as uninteresting as you can. Or... yeah, making them not see us would be good." He stood back up, looking around at the room they were in. A bedroom, though it looked like someone'd done a thorough search through everything already. And then somehow expanded in one direction. The second was probably just whatever was expanding the house. The first... maybe not. "Cobalt, does this room look familiar to you?" Byron said, walking over to the wardrobe over to the side. It looked normal enough, all things considered. But it was a hiding place. For them, or for other things, that depended on who got to the room first. "And what should we do with this thing?"

Mid-Range Game 62: In The Shadow of Ash
Ashbringer replied to StrikerEZ's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Fifth, you shot the Lurcher again -
I’d prefer RandBy run it I think. In addition to running several in succession I have Spring Break in 2 weeks and may have spotty internet.
-
... I'm also now realizing I ran the last 2 odd-numbered LGs
-
Oh! ... oh dear. ... so, who wants to follow up LG92 with a Shard game? ... ... yeah that's what I thought. I do have an idea for a simpler game I could run, but if anyone wants to run something ahead of me then that works too

(May want to spoiler that second part) It looks fun!

More meta-games could be interesting, and there’s a lot of untapped Troll potential. Only real concern I’ve got is settling into a pattern of who gets what roles / roles specific for a player (ie Striker always getting a Lynchbait analogue) combined with new/newer players not really having that. Then again, IDK why I got to be the Thread Master when RPer was right there

Ctrl-F's my name in Elim Doc ... you guys just used my roles lists instead of building your own? xD Sorry I already looked, but you're right I wouldn't have. Thoughts! I do feel like I/we played this game a bit... ruthless? We don't have flips, and near the end I basically threw out whatever alignment scans we had and just went pure Process of Elimination. Which was the play, because we could handle pretty much anything besides E!Confirmed-Villager!Aman, and if Kas made E!Confirmed-Villager!Aman then he's building the Elim team a steamroller but the PoE steamroller kinda ran over a bunch of people, and as mentioned there wasn't... really anything that Mat could do at the end. Maaaaaybe try and get a Drake exe, but that needs Drake to shoot not-Mat first, and I and a few other people would have a slight issue with that. Also there's one meme I want to do but I can't find the template for it ack
