  1. Okay, here's what I have for reads and things: Matrim - first post. Reads TJ weird, but feels like that's more TJ's style than his alignment. Seemed to think Mist didn't know the tale of Faleast the Kandra when Mist was the only one I claimed Kandra to in LG66 (). Silberfarben - had a plan to have fake alignment scan results, so that a real alignment scanner could post their results in a herd and we can look back at them when they die and their role becomes confirmed. While it has some merit, I feel like alignment scanners are rare enough that they can just claim, we lynch the accused Elim, and if they were wrong we lynch (or vigilante, if we have that somewhere) the accuser. I can't tell what the intent behind it is, but I'm more inclined to push for activity as Silber successfully hid as a mostly-inactive Elim/"Elim" for two consecutive games. So consider this a stab vote. Striker - repeated what Lotus and I said about not revealing roles, which to me feels a little off. Pyro - voted on Striker for the above^, first vote, for "wanting to conceal information". I have yet to recieve a PM from Pyro, which is kinda interesting considering he PM'd TJ, but NAI. Called out TJ for rule-bending, came to a truce. TJ - tried to get Illwei to tell him the official Village name, which was a little rule-bendy. Araris - one post, voting on me, so prepare for some bias. He wrote a summary post on what he thought of Silber's strategy, saying it would be too tedious to figure out and lets Elims find real scanners. He then voted on me for wondering why people shouldn't fake claim. (Plus, he said he wrote a post 2 hours before he posted it at 10:21 PM, but he was responding to one of my posts from 8:44 PM, which is less than 2 hours! Therefore he must be lying and an Elim!... /s (although possibly worth investigating).) Illwei - said in a reason for edit that they "don't want to post too many times," which could be noteworthy but is NAI. Editing posts immediately after posting is a little suspicious, but I tend to read Illwei as... what's a good word. Nervous? Panicked? "Flustered" is the word my brain wants to choose, but I don't think its right, and I still can't tell if it's supposed to mean anything. NAI Lotus - page 3 Lotus posted an analysis post where she seemed to read everyone Null, or hedged her reads in some way. I doubt an Elim would do this, but I don't think Lotus has been an Elim yet, and I don't like it. But she's contributing a good amount now, so... ironically, Null. Mild Elim: Silber, Very Mild Elim: Araris, Striker, Null: Pyro, Illwei (for now), Lotus Very Mild Village: TJ, Matrim Have to cut this short - I'm going golfing soon. Will be back in time for Rollover.
  2. I'm pretty sure TGK's just PAFO'ing everything. I have a background, and he PAFO'd if it's supposed to be a RP tool or a hint to something else. Seeing that other people have them makes me think it does have some game impact. So I wouldn't recommend sharing what it your background happens to be. As for actual analysis, there hasn't been that much analysis so far. And I'm fresh off of two games of completely awful reads, so I'm hesitant to make a read on someone when there's not a lot of game-related conversation to go off of (discounting TJ's rule-bending). But seeing as I'm tied for the most votes with Kasimir, who's second vote from himself... I should probably try My next post will be analysis.
  3. Byron ran across the streets, hardly seeing. Oh, he saw. He saw the remnants of the festival-goers drifting through alleys and Alleys. He saw a pickpocket get taken down by two pursuers. He saw a shadowy wall all around. He didn't know what of it was real anymore. He came to a place - tavern - called the Bleeding Spike. He didn't have time to wonder what it might mean. He just ran inside, and collapsed on the nearest thing that looked like a chair. He needed... He didn't know what he needed. But he definitely wanted a drink. Alcohol, orange juice... something. He needed...
  4. Faleast nodded to Dr. Gears, then put the three odd samples off to one side and scribbled a few sentences describing the oddities. One seemed gaseous - or a very weirdly pressurized solid - and the other was definitely solid, perhaps frozen without being cold. They were- Hey. Someone's talking to you, I think, AraRaash's voice sounded. “Would someone mind helping clean this up?” Faleast looked up, and saw a panicking intern next to a lot of molten metal. Meanwhile another intern checked out for the day. "Oh. I'll help!" He ran over to the smoking machine, which appeared to be melting from the inside. So, he did the first step - ran to the back and unplugged the thing. The strained whirring stopped, but the inside was still looking particularly melted. "Does anyone know where a fire hose is?" he said as he tried to redirect the flow with a metal scraper.
  5. Cassie hesitated. Technically speaking, Lord hadn't told her not to tell anyone about the spikes. But generally such things were considered... trade secrets. Then again, maybe she could right this. "I'd... rather not speak about it," she said, letting the unsaid "here" ring as she looked at Poller and the other customer. "Let me see if I can get some diagrams for the caesium. Show you what it looks like." She looked at the others. "Can I help you with anything?" she said to the customer, noticing a slightly panicked look on Poller's face. Edit: @Sorana
  6. You know, I thought the Evil Interns were just killing us, but apparently according to the writeup they're also stealing and sabotaging our research. So maybe I shouldn't have Faleast be stealing and sabotaging our research. So to reiterate, Faleast is just trying to steal samples and copy research, not actively sabotage the research. He legitimately wants to discover the truth about Ashyn, but he also wants to use their discoveries.
  7. "I was off doing a little... project," she said, mouth curling. "A Soulcasting of various metals. For Lord-son-son-Silberfarben." "As for caesium... I can sell it. But it's hard to contain. I can seal it in glass or a salt, but depending on the size it will take time. And time is money," she finished meaningfully. She continued. "I can sell a few caesium capsules. An ounce one will be about 20 chrysts, a pound one will be about 100, a 10-pounder will be about 1000. But either way they'll take a few days to make. Does that work for you?"
  8. Faleast gave an inward sigh, rolling the sample balls around in his hand. He'd have to think of a way to take one that involved more paperwork. Then he noticed something. "Hey, Doc!" he said, running back to the man, glancing at a nameplate. "Gears. You might want to look at this." He held up the three spheres. "These liquids aren't supposed to fill the entire container, right? So they can slosh around. But one of these isn't sloshing," he said, waving it up and down. It felt as solid as a rock, but... lopsided one way. He tried another. "Actually, two of these aren't sloshing," he said, "but this one's pressure is way up for some reason." Faleast stared at the spheres. "I think the centrifuge made them switch phases. This one feels like the inside's frozen. That one feels like a gas ampule. And this one," he said, pointing to the one he'd "borrowed", "it's still liquid." He scratched his head, leaving them on the table. "Any idea what would cause that? Should we run the test again?"
  9. Poller counted. One jar each of iron, pewter, brass, gold and electrum. "That's 290 chrysts total for the metals. I'd have to work on the vial. Our store doesn't do glass specifically, but we could find someone to make it from glass specifically. Have a specific metal in mind?" Then another customer walked in, asking for... sesium? He recognized the name, but like the customer he couldn't really place what it was. "Umm... I don't know about-" The door opened. And in walked Cassandra Adama. "Well, Poller," she said. "You've certaintly kept yourself busy. I'm Cassandra Adama. What can we do for you?"
  10. Why did it have to be tags... Faleast's brow furrowed. "I'm still doing tests on a few of those samples. One still should be in the temperature... thingy," he said, gesturing at one of the larger machines. It was rapidly whirring through different temperatures and displaying various pressures. Faleast wasn't entirely sure what they were supposed to mean, but the machine was also supposed to give out a reading when it was done. Faleast ran through the machines in his head. There were 5 samples missing from the tray. One was in the temp-pressure machine, one was out on the counter, two was being centrifuged, and one was the one he'd snatched. He started migrating the last one toward his arm. "One's here, exposed but still intact," he said, pointing to the one on the counter. "I'm doing some acid tests, although it doesn't seem to be acting any different than normal water." The sphere was in his palm now. "And I'm pretty sure I have two in the centrifuge. Slight delay on startup, but-" He opened the centrifuge, letting the sample roll into the centrifuge without a sound, then nimbly moved the samples into a balanced pattern. "Huh. There's three in here. That would explain the slow start." Faleast turned to the researcher. "I guess I just forgot how many I put in. I'm not used to taking notes." Do you need me to kill him? whispered AraRaash into his mind. Faleast ignored him. They were all just trying to do their job.
  11. Schrodinger didn’t know where the track was. He was just riding along with a giant chimaera-cat.
  12. He’s not evil, he’s just misunderstood! Faleast and AraRaash are traversing the cosmere to try and collect various forms of Investiture (and repeatedly find themselves stuck with people who want to murder each other along the way). Ashyn provides a very unique form of Investiture in that it’s tied to pathogens, and can have perhaps irreplicable affects. So Faleast wants to have some of each sample he researches for his own, so if he finds any Investiture he can access it later. Of course, he probably won’t find any. OOC I’m playing Faleast as obtaining any powers he gets as roles, which is why you may see him using Allomantic Nicrosil at times. He’s also got a F-Gold spike so I can justify him getting repeatedly thrown into highstorms and breaking his bones. So if I manage to get an Invested role in this game (or do I have it already? ), he’ll “keep” it for RP in future games. That being said, if you want to RP finding a sample missing, that could lead to some fun. But Faleast is acting entirely in his own self-interest at this point.
  13. Schrodinger was very lost, but figured revolution had to be good.
  14. Faleast had a headache. He wasn’t entirely sure why. He’d just returned with the group from the infamously disease-ridden Ashyn, but he’d been in the same protective gear as everyone else on this... mission. He certaintly didn’t notice anyone exhibiting any major symptoms. “Can kandra even get sick?” he whispered to himself. Physically, generally only if they want to, came AraRaash’s reply. After a... mishap on Sel, it was Faleast’s turn in the metaphysical personality drivers’ seat. But these Ashynite ailments are different, the kandra continued. They are Invested, I’m sure of it. And I don’t know if I could recognize the actual pathogen responsible. Then there’s that Bloodmaker spike. That throws another wrench into things. ”I didn’t store on Ashyn. I know that much,” Faleast muttered. This would be a puzzle. He’d have to do more analysis on these disease samples. It was quite convienient that Silverlight was actually paying him to do it. Not as much as the work would seem to be worth, but Faleast had... other incentives. He took his next tray of samples, this one from a lake nobody else seemed to want to go near. There were 16 samples, small balls of material each in a double-aluminum-lined lead casing. Faleast plugged one sample into a machine designed to test its reaction to heat. He took another sample and held it up to the light. Inside so much metal, it seemed unremarkable. He smiled, then let the sample sink through his palm and migrate to his ribcage. Unremarkable enough that even the brightest of the low-paid interns wouldn’t try and find a sample that fell into the cracks.
  15. Imagine playing this on Discord. We could have nicknames, real-time conversation, anonymous Emotes... I’d also kinda like to see how this group would do at Town of Salem (an online mafia-style game). It’s got a lot of differences but I think it would be interesting. As for mechanics, I don’t want to guess too much, but I have a few ideas. Mostly some that have been previously mentioned like roles with drawbacks.
  16. Doing momentum math while the variable is the rate of time’s progression is hard, okay!
  17. Tantalizing that it could break the game. For alignment specifics, it’s pretty obvious what could be broken, but it also could be referring to something I found... cryptic in my GM PM. Although I’m not giving any more hints on that front. Also, the word “immediately” is always a fun one to see in these games, from the GM or otherwise. TJ, while you may have a point, I don’t know how much I like said point. Because it seems to be exactly what Elkanah said not to do. Although getting hung ip on your methods went FANTASTIC in the QF so I’m not going to push it... much. I’m going to sleep for hopefully a good 8 hours or so, so... night!
  18. Don’t sweat it. Generally filling steel means (IMO) that you move like a sloth: you move slower in any case where you’re moving under your own power. However, you won’t fall slower. Tapping steel essentially just makes you move faster, again when under your own power. Hopefully that helps... something. Here at the Alleyverse, we tend not to concern ourselves with those pesky laws of physics anyway
  19. ...Huh. Could’ve fooled me Still, I don’t like it. It’s bending the rules at best. Edit: yes, that’s you. Oh, I did? I’ll Well, that is both relieving and tantalizing.
  20. My post wasn’t up 2 hours ago... or maybe it was and my (Edit to continue sentence because brain failure:) timestamps aren’t updated yet. And as I said, fake-claiming roles leads to Elims suspecting who has roles with much greater accuracy. Especially since the Elim team ostensibly knows some roles already from having them within their own ranks. And, Silber wanted us to all fake seeing players’ Alignments. While I see the possible benefit, as when a real scanner dies their “fake guesses” become much more dependable, it also becomes a storm of contradictions and accusations where people can’t tell a baseless/faked suspicion from a real one. Plus then we have the fun endeavor of dealing with a dead Elim’s “faked” alignment scanning, which delves into an IKYK black hole. And Pyro, TJ, how about we all come together and agree that we shouldn’t grill the (sorta) new player for the specifics of their alignment from their starting GM PM in any circumstance or ruleset?
  21. If you’re Alignment in the GM PM is Green, you’re Village. If it’s Red, you’re Elim. If it’s something else... you’re something else. At least, that’s how its been in every game I’ve played.
  22. In effort to stay on the current topic, I also live in the Pacific NW Although only for a few more weeks before college starts. In all seriousness, I don’t know how helpful role speculation is. It’s nice to be right, but any hinting may lead the Elims to suspect you actually have a role and thus make you a target. And like Pyro said, LG66 went WAAAAY out there. Edit: @The_God_King, what are the rules on PMs?
  23. Umm... we don't even know if there is an alignment scanner. That's one of the less likely roles to show up because so many people don't like it so much. We don't know how this game works, if it's role madness or not, what the gimmick is, so starting up fake claims is probably a very bad idea.
  24. Thanks! The charges are a new thing, but I'm trying to show that Unmade conversion is harder than Regal conversion. (Well, Sja-anat would be converting the Voidspren giving the Regal powers, but it's the same idea). Since most Unmade are just plain more powerful than Regals, I wanted there to be a conversion trade-off of going for suspected Unmade or going for more players. As for the lynch, the Warform Regals will survive one lynch, like a Thug will, unless they've already soaked up an attack from somewhere.
