the fellowship of the thing The Mishmash Inn (Retired)
Mat replied to Channelknight Fadran's topic in Roleplaying
Phillip waited for Nerd customers. Surely there were people that respected da gaming! He was anticipating how much he would have to fake his way through knowing what he was talking about. He had found a green work uniform in the closet in the back of the store, and used the restroom across the hall to change into it. He wasn't sure if it was required, but it at least made him feel like he actually had the job. An announcement crackled through the loudspeakers on the ceiling: Phillip had read those books! He knew the answer! It was- He made plans to visit the Cafe for his lunch break. -

"Well..." The person who was seated at the desk prior to his arrival left promptly, and Phillip's voice trailed off. He had... no idea of what to do. Well, he thought to himself, might as well go behind the desk. Behind the glass desk that doubled as a display case- showcasing numerous fantasy character models and video game discs- there was a note of instructions, a comfy chair, and a mini fridge hidden under the solid part of the counter, where the cash register was. Phillip examined the note, which read as follows: Phillip blinked at the hours. Wasn't there shifts, or something? He checked the clock, which was detailed with a picture of Zyndarfaorn from Shadow kNights, which read 6:54 am. Blast! Looks like his first shift was to be soon. He strode to the entry door, turned on the 'open' sign, and walked back behind the desk. -
Not a tie: And with your vote: Anyway, I think I've expressed how I dislike the Gears train. That sort of thing seems fairly NAI to me- and he has explained the whole claiming-elim thing before. Though it is true that it's not very helpful to anyone.

Phillip thanks the worker, and walks the direction indicated. Xandathar, he thinks to himself. Who is Xandathar? Well, it was next to the Rave Room. That would likely be useful. In fact, Phillip soon passed a closed door where he could here loud upbeat music coming from the inside. He concluded that this was the Rave Room, using his Nerd skills and proving himself to be a viable Deskboi. Looking around, it was then obvious who Xandathar was. The giant poster of a black demon surrounded by lava was a dead giveaway, that and the cryptic cursive lettering at the bottom of the poster reading Xandathar. He poked his head in the door that fit the requirements. "Hello?" -

Phillip waved to get the attention of an inn worker. "Excuse me, I have taken the job as a... Deskboi, and would like to know where to check in and get started. Also, I don't have a room yet, and will thus have a difficult time staying long enough to work." -

Phillip walks over to the list of employee jobs and expectations, and finds the Deskboi entry: He rubs his chin, admitting to himself that he might be... lacking... in some of those areas. But he could manage. He had been a big fan of Majyk: Da Gaathurring and Dongens n' Drakgons as a boy. -

Phillip narrowed his eyes, considering the options. He couldn't lay down a beat to save his life, so the DJ job was out, and he had undertaken no swimming lessons as a boy. "If possible, I accept the position of... Deskboi... at the Nerd Game Store." Phillp supposed he was a smart man. He wasn't an idiot, at least. It probably wouldn't be too bad. "Out of curiosity, what is the pay?" -

Before Phillip could reply, more people flooded into the inn. He had a brief satisfaction that he was first, but they also wanted jobs. Phillip was glad that the appearing Fadran, who seemed to be in charge, was back in business mode. "Yes, preferably a clean one." Phillip hated dirt and grime, and any clean-up involving the restrooms. -

Phillip considered. He wasn't particularly close to cracking what he was looking for, and getting some pay for a little while couldn't hurt anything. "Why, sure. To the both of them. Where do I find that @Channelknight Fadran?" -

Phillip coughed to cover a surprised look. No prices? All you could eat breakfast? "Oh, I don't know, a few days, maybe. You said something about possible work...?" -

Phillip cleared his throat. "Indeed. What are your prices?" He hoped they didn't go above thirty. He scarcely had enough as it was. -

Phillip Waibly strides through the unfamiliar town, far from his own. He knows he must stop somewhere for the night, but can't pick up on where. He needs something different. Something... strange. Like it is meant for anyone, and he could find anyone there. Something meant for adventurers like himself. He turns onto Mainish street, the subsection of Main street, and is greeted with a sign: The Mishmash Inn! A five-star Adventuring Hotel: The perfect place to relax after a long campaign. Perfect, Phillip thinks, and strides in, and is promptly greeted. Phillip nods. "Yes, yes, I'll take a room." he walks ahead to talk to Tari. -

Ah, I missed Vapor's vote. Indeed.

Where! Is! My SUPER SUIT!

I did consider that. But this was much easier

Well the cycle is only half over, and currently you're tied, not out way ahead. So I wouldn't say that at all.

I am making this right now. RIGHT NOW!

I would tend to agree with this. But also I would say that I find this whole thing from Gears entirely NAI, in my opinion, and definitely agree on the 'meh' aspect. What actions?! You guys have actions?! @xinoehp512, @STINK, come join!

Sigh. There probably isn't going to be anything to convince you two. I just hope everyone else sees through this. The sad thing is, I believe both of your villagerness is genuine, so some of the remaining elims will just casually hop on this one, I'm sure. Enough to guarantee my demise. Kinda funny I'm gonna be mislynched again, after a 4 game streak of getting NK'd, apparently something changed and now I'm found suspicious. I still can see no reasonable difference in my playstyle, so I'm just left confused. I'll stick a vote on Lahilt, half because I agree with the above reasoning, half in the hope of self preservation, and then also that he fits the peripheral elim profile- which I point out that I most certainly do not. I've already stated my suspicions many, many times. If/when I die, please consider them.
