Our cast of characters turned in shock as a formerly inconspicuous stick transformed into a sticky human, so they then proceeded to pelt it with their pizza.- 111800 replies

Very well written. I enjoyed reading it. This makes me wonder what effects this will have on the future of Roshar, because on the surface it seems the same. Taln is the only Herald in Damnation, but only this time he went willingly so the other Heralds don't feel as guilty. Thanks for writing this.

It probably wouldn't be possible to make something exactly like Nightblood, but I think Azure's blade comes pretty close, and I think that is only Endowment-ous investiture.

Oh okay. So the Intent of the command "Destroy evil" was strong enough that it made some of that investiture ruinous, or there is some of Ruin in Nightblood because everything is Connected in the Spiritual Realm?

First of all, I put this post in the general Cosmere discussion because Nightblood is from Nalthis, this theory involves Scadrial, and Nightblood is now on Roshar, so I didn't feel like I could put this in only one book series. I was recently listening to the Mistborn Era 1 audiobooks, and Ruin's Intent made me think of Nightblood. Ruin likes to destroy things, guess who else loves to destroy. This made me think that Nightblood's creation could possibly have been influenced by Ruin. Nightblood's investiture is corrupted, which usually means the mixing of multiple shards' investitures. What if Ruin put some of his ruinous investiture into the sword, along with cultivation's investiture? Nightblood's black smoke is reminiscent of Ruin's mist. Second, I think the timeline works out. 1-5 of the SA take place around 330 PC. In my head I think of Warbreaker taking place around 30 years before the Stormlight Archive, and Nightblood's creation happened 300 years before Warbreaker. That would place the Manywar and the creation of Nightblood right around the time that Vin released Ruin from the Well of Ascension. Sorry if this is confusing. It made a lot more sense in my head, but I would love to know your guys' thoughts.

Just an unrelated, but sort of related question. At the end of Hero of Ages, Sazed's note to Spook says that there are 2 more metals that no one knows about. Aren't there 4 more? Nicrosil, Chromium, Cadmium and Bendalloy? Did Saze not know at this point that Atium and Malatium weren't part of the core 16 allomantic metals, or is this a typo?

Another consideration I had was to make a webGL build then host it from github pages. That would just give people an easier way to try it out without having to download an .exe

I agree that Hrathen has the best character arc and is, from a literary point of view, the best character. However, I voted Raoden because I enjoyed his viewpoint chapters the best. As a character he isn't my favorite, but I am a fan of the 'take a bad situation and make it better' plot archetype (another instance of this archetype is bridge 4 in tWok), so I was just getting through the Hrathen and Sarene chapters so I could read about Raoden and Elantris. I know that wasn't exactly the point of this poll, but that is my opinion on the three main Elantris characters.

okay. Thanks. Hopefully with the help of google I can figure that out.

Hilarious. Second funniest thing I have seen all week. Thanks for making this, but I agree with @Karger, Sigzil is too low.

Another question. I was looking at the project in unity, and for the purpose of creating levels of my own, I was wondering how the tiles object works. Inside its hierarchy there are only a few objects, yet it stores all of the normal blocks. I found where the rest of the blocks with special properties are, but was wondering how to customize the tiles object to create a different level.

As much as I like this whole Mistborn movie and TV show thing, I'm tempted to say that I would almost rather an Era 2 Wax and Wayne TV show. I also feel like it would attract a wider audience.

Okay, so the term I should have been using was unkeyed. This is like the gold bracelet full of health that only Wayne could use. Unsealed is like the medallions. So in order for an allomancer to access the investiture inside a metalmind, said metalmind would only have to be unkeyed to be burned by an allomancer with the corresponding metal, it wouldn't need to be unsealed because that involves nicrosil and other complicated stuff.
-
First of all, I'm a little confused on the difference between unkeyed and unsealed metalminds, but until I hear otherwise I am going to use the term unsealed for a metalmind filled by someone who was simultaneously putting all of their identity into an aluminummind. So, I was recently re-listening to the era 1 audiobooks, and was listening to the scene where Vin tries to burn one of Sazed's metalminds (pewter I think). When she describes how it feels, Sazed informs her that it is how it feels to attempt to tap another feruchemist's metalminds. This made me wonder what would happen if someone made an unsealed metalmind, then gave it to a misting of the corresponding power and the misting burned it. I think it would burn and they could access the power inside because it isn't tuned to any identity. I don't think there would be the need for nicrosilminds, because the power of burning metals is already there, and the relevant feruchemical power is never used. This would make unsealed metalminds extra valuable to mistings. I don't know how economicaly feasible it would be, but I think that it would work in theory.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...

YKYASF when you get are weeding your raspberries, and get scraped on your arm. Instead of thinking about it hurting, you think about the cool Hathsin scars that you will have if you do this for long enough. -
That is what I thought of first when I read @earthexile‘s post, but then when’s you mentioned Dalinar I also realized that Dalinar burned that one canyon place. He and wit could make a good arson team
-
Ok. I’ll check that out. I already have unity, so I’ll probably check out your code.

Dalinar has indeed burned a city or two to the ground in his time.
