If you could go back in time and change one small, insignificant thing, what would you change?I No stopping wars, saving lives, or any equally heroic acts. What small bit of history would you change to prevent a minor inconvenience to your life? Mine would be somehow stopping Mary Shelley from writing Frankenstein. I'm reading it right now for an English class and I'm bored out of my mind. Granted I only just finished the prologue, but it was the most uncaptivating, tedious prologues I've read. So what minor inconvenience would you want to prevent via time travel?

I agree it is, for most people, a natural part of life, and that Sanderson wants to portray this even in his fictional worlds. But your comment was about wanting there to be more kissing, and sorry, but I don't want to read pages upon pages of Shallan and Adolin making out. If I wanted to read that I would go read a fanfiction.

Eh. If I wanted to read kissing, I would read my mom's period romance dramas. I read Stormlight because I like epic fantasy. It's not a romance-if it was, I probably wouldn't read it. (Sorry if this comes across as rude. You're entitled to your opinion, I'm just presenting mine)

I agree that a human-singer relationship would be interesting. I feel like one reason people like Kaladin x Shallan is that it defies social norms with a darkeyed-lighteyed relationship and that Shallan ending up with Adolin just reinforces that lightened hierarchy. Kaladin ending up with a singer would provide the "forbidden romance" that fans seem to enjoy without Adolin having to die or divorce Shallan.

Right now I'm reading A Fine and Pleasant Misery by Patrick F. McManus. It's a collection of funny, sarcastic stories about hunting, camping, and outdoor life. I would recommend it both to the most fanatical outdoorsman or the laziest couch potato.

I agree that other musicals are better, but given that Hamilton is pretty much the only musical that can be (legally) watched from home (aside from Shrek, Newsies, 21 Chump Street, and maybe a few others), I might rewatch it a couple times. Totally get why you wouldn't want to rewatch the entire three hours though.

One reason I don't ship Kaladin x Shallan is simply because I don't like romantic conflict or love triangles. I've never enjoyed reading overly-romantic books, especially if the "conflict" is which guy she's gonna choose. I'm perfectly fine with what pairings are most presented in a book or show and don't want to dwell too much on other options. Katara x Aang over Katara x Zuko. Harry x Ginny over Harry x Hermione. I once read a love-triangle manga (Fruits Basket) and was so confused over what to think. So probably the main reason I ship Shallan x Adolin is that it is what was first presented (and it's canon). I don't want romantic drama between Shallan and Kaladin, can we just get back to cool stabby death swords and Kaladin singly-handedly trying to save the world please?

One of my favorite parts was in "The Election of 1800" when Hamilton says "Jefferson has my vote" and Jefferson does a little happy dance and Burr's face falls.

Maybe it has something to do with artificial lenses? Anyway this got me thinking... What if there was an Awakener who couldn't see colors? I guess that once they reached the Third Heightening they would be able to see colors but what about the First and Second Heightenings? Just imagine a poor colorblind Awakener frantically touching every object in sight, hurriedly whispering Commands, hoping that the object has color to drain.

Replying to an oooooold post but I have something to add. I've had cataract surgery in both my eyes, during which my lenses were replaced with artificial ones. After the surgery I began to notice that I see colors differently with my different eyes. If I close my right eye I see cooler colors (such as blue and green) more vibrantly while reds and browns look more faded and gray. Alternatively, reds look brighter when I close my left eye. My brother, who has also had his lenses replaced, has noticed the same thing. He theorizes that it has to do with the way your brain adjusts to temporarily having good vision in only one eye. This has gotten me thinking that everyone sees colors slightly differently. (Also I remember hearing that females see color differently from males? Maybe??) However, I have hacked the system and unlocked ULTIMATE DUAL-SEEING COLOR EYES. (I'm tired and supposed to be writing an essay can you tell?) So if you want to experience different colors... get surgery. Simple.
