Kane sat in his cell, back to the corridor, grinning.

"Why are you here?" Quinn was evidently uneasy about his surrender.

Kane, his back still towards her, grinned wider. "I've realized the error in my ways of course."

She folded her arms, obviously unconvinced. "Why do I not believe you?"

Kane shrugged. "I imagine it is because you feel you can't trust me. You are still angry that the path I chose diverged from yours, and despite anything I do or say, you will believe that I am nothing more than a husk of my former self."

Quinn glowered at him. "What game are you playing at?"

Kane looked up towards the one window in his cell, it cast a shaft of light through the dim interior of his confinement.

"The endgame."

Quinn glared, her tone icy. "You will fail."

Kane stood up, turning to face her. "I'll be sorry to disappoint you."

He paused looking back at his singular window.

"May I speak with the girl?"

Quinn ignored him, turning to walk away. 

Kane's smile grew wider. "You can't run from what's coming! Myria will be first! Sabir will follow!"

Quinn shut the blast door, fuming, leaving Kane to rot in his cell.

When you call parrots chickens, and hermit crabs chulls...

Kane turned to her. "Cooperate please. Trust me when I say this is in your best interests."

He calmly stepped onto the larger craft, hands still raised.

Kane sat up. "I assure you all that I am capable of restraining myself."

She nodded, and began to walk as quickly as she could manage while helping Cadenza.

Calmly Kane drew in one the pain around himself, and began healing Cadenza's wound.

Bullets flew into Kane's back. He emitted a soft grunt as electric charges spread across his back, he then collapsed.

Quinn shoved the man aside, then dropped down to where Cadenza and Kane lay.

She turned to Cadenza. "You cannot trust him."

The bullet took Janice in the back. She didn't even have time to scream before Trace took over again, growling from the pain. She gripped the bloody dagger, kicking Cadenza to the ground and placing a boot on her chest, holding her down.

Trace drew upon the pain, creating another exposive force and blowing Cadenza through the floor.

He looked up to Trace.

"Stop! That is an order!"

She pulled out her dagger and rammed it into Cadenza's stomach.

Kane turned to Trace, hands still in the air. "What part of leave don't you understand? You completed the mission. Go!"

He turned to Trace. "Consider the test, a quasi-success."

Electricity leapt from the round, crackling, and spreading out over Trace.

A sense of urgency entered Kane's voice. "That rifle isn't normal! You need to get out of there now!"

Quinn fired.

Quinn smirked. "I'm sorry she feels that way."

She drew the rifle into a firing position. "Now get on the ground before I shoot!"
