  1. Kane grinned. ''You know why."
  2. Kane ignored her question, lost in thought. "The owner of this farm was not a kind man, by any means, but he had a dog he loved dearly." He paused, enjoying the silence. "The other animals on this farm were sheep, though the farmer, fed them little. In addition to this, he routinely mistreated them, and occasionally would slaughter some of their lambs for meat." "Now unlike the sheep, the farmer fed his dog well, he played with it often, he even called the dog good boy, a complement the dog very much enjoyed, and when the dog was old enough he gave the it the task of watching his sheep." "Originally, the sheep had seemed strange and alien to the dog, with their large coats, and strange language, but over time they began to befriend with one another. And slowly but surely, the many sheep and the dog became friends." Kane once again paused, breathing in deeply. "Every day, the master of the farm would set the dog out, and have it tend to his flocks, then as dusk set in, call the dog home, and praise it. For it was a "good boy." "But one day the farmer announced that he'd be butchering and selling some of the flock's lambs. The sheep, terrified and desperate, hatched a plan to escape. As night set in, they clambered over the stone wall, keeping them trapped, and set out to the edges of the farmer's property. However, to their horror, they found out that the edge of the farm was surrounded by a barbed wire fence, and the latch to the gate was just out of reach." "One of the sheep knew what to do, it ran back all the way to where the sleeping dog lay, and pleaded for help. The dog, hearing the cries of it's friend, set off to see what the matter was. He arrived where the flock waited, and surveyed their predicament. Do you know what he did then?" Kane continued, ignoring his question. "He woke his master, and the next day the lambs were slaughtered, for he was good boy. "
  3. He grinned. "A farm once existed where the Myrian capital stands."
  4. The guard nodded to a cell further down the hall, where Kane set, legs crossed, his back to the corridor.
  5. The brig was a long, dim hallway. Benches faced the mostly empty cells, and blast doors lined both entrances.
  6. The man nodded, and began to walk towards the brig.
  7. If you taste delicious, and drive better then most people do: Your species name is certainly not an insult.
  8. The man once again shrugged. "He has absolutely no authority on this ship, so... No."
  9. The man nodded. "You are by no means obligated to comply, though."
  10. The man shrugged. "He said you'll know."
  11. A guard walked up to her. "Um... One of the prisoners wishes to speak with you."
  12. Kane sat in his cell, back to the corridor, grinning. "Why are you here?" Quinn was evidently uneasy about his surrender. Kane, his back still towards her, grinned wider. "I've realized the error in my ways of course." She folded her arms, obviously unconvinced. "Why do I not believe you?" Kane shrugged. "I imagine it is because you feel you can't trust me. You are still angry that the path I chose diverged from yours, and despite anything I do or say, you will believe that I am nothing more than a husk of my former self." Quinn glowered at him. "What game are you playing at?" Kane looked up towards the one window in his cell, it cast a shaft of light through the dim interior of his confinement. "The endgame." Quinn glared, her tone icy. "You will fail." Kane stood up, turning to face her. "I'll be sorry to disappoint you." He paused looking back at his singular window. "May I speak with the girl?" Quinn ignored him, turning to walk away. Kane's smile grew wider. "You can't run from what's coming! Myria will be first! Sabir will follow!" Quinn shut the blast door, fuming, leaving Kane to rot in his cell.

  14. Kane turned to her. "Cooperate please. Trust me when I say this is in your best interests." He calmly stepped onto the larger craft, hands still raised.
  15. En dropped, twisting to face her opponent. "I will kill you."
  16. Kane grinned, then turned to Aryanna. "Long time, no see." @Vapor
  17. Kane smiled, lifting his hands to show he was unarmed. "I'll cooperate, there's no reason to restrain me."
  18. Kane sat up. "I assure you all that I am capable of restraining myself."
  19. Quinn didn't respond. She nodded, and began to walk as quickly as she could manage while helping Cadenza.
  20. Quinn nodded. "Can you carry him?" She gestured to Kane's unconscious form... Quinn hauled Cadenza up off the ground, and helped her stand. "You shouldn't have accepted."
  21. Calmly Kane drew in one the pain around himself, and began healing Cadenza's wound. Bullets flew into Kane's back. He emitted a soft grunt as electric charges spread across his back, he then collapsed. Quinn shoved the man aside, then dropped down to where Cadenza and Kane lay. She turned to Cadenza. "You cannot trust him."
  22. Kane shrugged. "Everything comes with strings attached. To assume otherwise is childish naivety. I once again ask, do you want help?"
  23. Kane shrugged. "You want the help, or not?" Kane breathed a sigh of relief.
