  1. "Maybe we can find a spike and ask him ourselves. Regardless, I think let's try and find a place to stay. The aluminum will help, but I'll probably have to start work somewhere." Alex regretted not paying attention during his engineering class last semester. Maybe he could "invent" something, but it would be hard to think of what. They already had incandescent lightbulbs, right? Airplanes would be kind of pointless once they discovered the Southern airships.
  2. "Perfect. I can carry two people if you can make platforms to launch off of."
  3. "It's a phenomenon where two realms clash together. I've only seen it on Kaldheim but there's no reason it couldn't happen elsewhere if there are sub-dimensions close to each other. I wish I had studied them more, but the Skelle are notoriously xenophobic."
  4. "We should be there within the hour, but I bet we could get there faster. How much force can your ice take?"
  5. "Let's plan on not needing to fight. We're in the middle of a big city, with a police force. Assuming this is during the events of the books, we know exactly what's going to happen and when." "That does bring up the question of how they test people in universe. Also, wouldn't we have to Snap first? I think let's leave it."
  6. "Only one way to find out." Alex yelled back in the alley. "Ok, all you Earthlings, we're heading out!" @Vapor @HoidWasTaken @The Unknown Order @AmazingGoob @Enter a username
  7. "Thanks. I'm Alex. I wonder who we sell this to. Probably a metallurgist or something."
  8. "Ooh, well that's just pure luck. What do I have in my pockets... hmm. My phone's going to die in less than a day, and I don't think my credit card is going to do a whole lot here." "Laaaame." Alex smiles though, so hopefully Luke knows he's joking.
  9. "I don't think anyone would've doubted you then." he claps his hands together. "All right, well, if this was in a book, we'd start talking about how we want to get back, but I never liked those books. Let's start figuring out what we want to do now that we're here." He stops and considers. "And maybe introduce ourselves"
  10. "I didn't say that." Alex walked out of the alley and towards a man hurrying down the street. "Hello sir, would you happen to know where I could find the octant police headquarters?" He rolls his eyes and points down the street. "Rusts, man, can't miss it." Alex turns around to the kids and raises his eyebrow. "Well, I'd call that some amount of proof."
  11. "Unless one of us has it. But hopefully we don't..." "Let's go with positive proof rather than negative proof. Come on guys, let's find someone that's wearing those old fashioned clothes. Maybe we got dropped in a Renaissance festival."
  12. "No, you, stop. We need to stick together." Alex rubbed the bridge of his nose. He had not gotten enough sleep in the last... however long to deal with this.
  13. "Ok, ok, all of you. Let's all settle down and figure this out." Geez, why were these all kids? That meant Alex would probably have to be The Grown Up and that was never fun. Still, this was shaping up to be an adventure, and he'd take anything to do something other than Calculus for a day.
  14. All joviality gone, Eben frowns. "Can't say I have."
  15. "Who are you, what are you all talking about, and what happened to my bed?"
  16. It roars again and disappears under the water "Careful what you ask for, guys." The jury murmurs among themselves and Lord Derival nods, considering. "Very well. The prosecution may bring in their first evidence."
  17. "I'd certainly think so, although I'll be the first to tell you, my expertise is definitely more with nature and trees than in towns and cities." Eben laughs
  18. "Well yeah, duh. Personally I think it looks like the beginnings of a Doomskar, which would be interesting to witness, although from further away."
  19. Alex sat up. Who was making all that noise?
  20. "Oh the usual. Monsters appearing where they shouldn't be, unseasonable cold and frost, some localized earthquakes. Something strange is going on. Why, would you know of something?" I know this won't do anything, but roll deception
  21. The head of the kraken rose above the surface of the water, black and glossy, with shards of crystal penetrating its hide. It roared and waves rocked the ship. At the helm, the captain begins trying to turn the ship towards the beast "Well spoken. You may proceed."
  22. Alein appeared in front of the two arguers. "You two better come look at this outside." before disappearing in a puff of white smoke
  23. Will watched calmly as the bedlam erupted and then subsided. If he was stuck in the ballroom for a while, might as well make the most of it.
