Hide the specifics of the job then.  Tell us what this will consist of procurement, sabotage, or "liberation" how difficult it will be and the duration of the mission.

"Very well. It will consist of liberation and sabotage and some of the jobs would be very hard except your abilities should give you an advantage. Many of the jobs will be spur of the moment when we hear of possible opportunities and act. You will have to be on call to counteract government operations and other opportunities.

Names?  In a place like this?  While I am in disguise?  You are giving me doubts about how professional your organization is.

"I can assure you this building is secure," Corvus does not seem worried about your comments. "And I had men watching you come to this building. Then three men entered but none looking like you. So it was reasonable to assume that the one man i don't have a description of was the forger Zaire. Perhaps it is you who has to be more professional."

"What am I needed to do? And why me?"

"I chose you simply because you are one of the only investiture users that is not already under the Law's control. As for what you would have to do I need to know that your with me before I tell you exact details. I can't have you betraying me to the Law now can I? I can tell you would be...dealing with nobleman guards and Lawman so my people can infiltrate and interrogate them."

  3. Corvus pauses and sorts through your confusing speech before answering. "I have heard rumors of what each of you can do through the underground were you obtain supplies. I know you can all use at least one form of investiture. the council and Directories have an advantage on numbers of investiture users and we need to balance that or they can wipe us all out with one man. and I believe Zaire is a forger who's talents would be doubly useful."

  4. 3 minutes ago, Karger said:

Very well.  You have a proposition for us?

"Indeed I do." he looks visibly relaxed as you agree to talk. "My name is Corvus and I am the leader of a rebellion that has begun to grow. Before it was just a small movement but know we are gaining momentum and true power in the undercity. This rebellion is in need of your talents and I would like to offer you a substantial reward for your help. I do not seek to blackmail or bribe you only point out the potential reward for your assistants."

I am nobility!  Do you think I spent my days behind a plow?

The man's gaze hardens. "I however am not. Please good sir I meant no offence. Do seat yourself please as we have more important matters to discuss than nobility and wines."

  6. @Karger @GoWibble @ChickenLiberty The three of you enter the back room at roughly the same time. It's a modest sized room with wood paneling and one rectangular table. A man sits at the table dressed in simple clothing. He is of moderate height and build and appraises you all with a keen intelligent gaze. He unclasps his hands from where they rest on the table and gesture to three empty chairs.
"Please sit. Would you care for some wine? Just some common stock I'm afraid anything better is reserved for nobility."

The men blocking Liberty's path moved to the back of the inn, so he steeped in and spoke to the man they had been talking to.

"I'm here for a... meeting. Was... were... those others for the same?"

The innkeeper nodded regarding you warily. "That they were, just through the back if you please." he paused and looked at you through narrow eyes. "Your not sick are you? Cuz i run a clean place and I don't want sick people 'urting healthy folks."

"No, no. There's nothing i need. Just checking in on the local shops to see if everything is in order. Well I think I'll be going now"

    I leave.

As you leave the shop you see a familiar face. A young man was leaning against the shop. It was a childhood friend from your youth before you became a lawkeeper. He was aslo a skybreaker. "Have fun chasing lies for the government." his voice was bitter. "Upholding a law you know is broken?"

  9. 3 minutes ago, Karger said:

"I am going to meet someone in the back."

The innkeeper nods a knowing look entering his eyes. He smiles and winks obviously doing his best to look crafty and secretive and doing a miserable job. "just through the door here sir," he points to a door to the side of the bar and turns his attention to the two men behind you.

  10. 2 minutes ago, Feruchemical Skybreaker said:

I enter the shop. "There wasn't by chance any... suspicious activity around here recently, was there?

"No no," the merchant shakes his head violently. "Everything's been peaceful as day cept for some shouting down the street. Quilted down now though. Do you need something lawman?"

  11. 1 minute ago, Feruchemical Skybreaker said:

    I continue toward the shop.

You continue and find the shop perfectly fine. The shopkeeper is whistling as he arranges his window display. the walls are clean and unmarked and all the wares are arranged neatly on the shelves. The merchant tips his hat in respect but shows no sign that he was expecting a lawman.

  12. Just now, Feruchemical Skybreaker said:

I breath in stormlight so that I begin to glow very noticeably. "I will warn you one more time, I am a skybreaker and if you continue to hinder me I Will hurt you."

The crowd gasps in one collective sound and immediately surges away. They push and shove each other in their haste to clear the path. As the crowd swirls around you you here a voice whisper in your ear. "Your no skybreaker," and then again from a different location. "Skybreaker's follow the law." again it shifts as the crowd finally begins to clear. "The tyranny in this city is no law!" The crowd makes it impossible to tell who spoke and then the people are gone hurrying down alleys and into buildings.

  13. @Feruchemical Skybreaker The crowd grows so thick you can no longer move. they are openly hostile and shove and curse you. They know not your objective only they don't want it to happen. Something needs to happen or the crowd looks like it will turn to open violence.

@Karger The innkeeper blinks looking confused and looks around the common room. Seeing no sign of the person you used to look like he turns back to you as another person enters the inn. "What can I help you two with?" he asks still looking baffled.

@GoWibble As you enter the room you see the innkeeper looking at an overweight man oddly. Then he asks you two what he can help you with.

  14. 1 minute ago, Karger said:

Zaire moved carefully through the crowded walkways.  Why did so many of his contacts have to frequent such places?  He moved up to the inn's door and opened it.  His contact said they would meet here...

The innkeeper turned as soon as you opened the door and smiled a practiced look. It was probably intended to put the customer at ease but was slightly creepy. Few people are in the room at this time of day but you catch a glimpse of a man ducking into the kitchen behind the bar. He catches your eye and winks before pulling the swinging door closed. The barkeeper gives a careful nod. It was your contact.

@Feruchemical Skybreaker You were sent to investigate possible vandalism of a merchants shop. His shop is down this street.

  15. @GoWibble The building was a standard inn sturdily built in two stories. The wooden windows were thrown open emitting the light of day to the common room. A sign swung above the door pronouncing the name in bright colors. The inn looked clean and freshly painted. Inside is a large common room with several tables and a bar against the far wall. A bored looking innkeeper is behind the bar rearranging glasses that don't need it. A stairway leads of the room by the bar presumably to the guest rooms above.

  16. @Feruchemical Skybreaker As you stride down the central lane in your law keeping uniform you attract hostile stares from the populace. The workers and peasants shoot you angry glances though are quick to drop them when you meet their gaze. They make way grudgingly and mutter about dirty lying law keepers. They seem to not realize you are a radiant an d the crowd grows more violent the deeper you go until you start to get shoved and jostled. The crowd seems on the verge of turning into a mob.

I'll just paraphrase. I don't have a money system yet so the pay is a moderate amount nothing crazy big but enough to set you up for a while. the witnesses are the guards of the manor house who have caught glimpses of this figure flying around the manor. Grecken says that you can talk to the guards and the various workers and peasents around that area. he gives you the address of the house as well.

  18. The portly man looks up from were he was leaning against the corner of a building. His grins around the fat cigar in his mouth.

"Ah ha ha, Hats! Just the person I was hoping to see! As a matter of fact there's this one little bounty I've had a fickle with. It's an Allomancer, a Coinshot. He's been scouting out the High Officials manor past few nights. Hasn't come close but we're nervous. Someone hits the big boss I'm in for it ya know?
