    Dreri pauses, looking around. She morphs back into a human and bends down. "I see crushed leaves." Val walks forward, frowning. "They disappear around here."

    Dreri looked back at Aerith, and seemed almost apologetic. She paused, waiting for him to catch up.

She somehow makes friends, gets good grades, goes to church every week, spend way too much time on 17th Shard, and somehow doesn't die.
