Zanidar grimaced. "Eᴠᴇɴ ɪᴍᴍᴏʀᴛᴀʟɪᴛʏ ᴅᴏᴇsɴ'ᴛ ʟᴀsᴛ ғᴏʀᴇᴠᴇʀ. Tᴀᴋᴇ ɪᴛ ғʀᴏᴍ ᴍᴇ."

"Cᴀɴ ʏᴏᴜ ᴅɪᴇ?"

Zanidar took control of Orpheus again and turned sharply. "Sɪʟᴇɴᴄᴇ, ᴍᴏʀᴛᴀʟ. I ɢʀᴏᴡ ᴡᴇᴀʀʏ ᴏғ ʏᴏᴜʀ ᴠᴏɪᴄᴇ."

Zanidar looked at the ground. "Oʀᴘʜᴇᴜs, ᴀʟʟᴏᴡ ᴍᴇ ᴛᴏ ᴍᴀɴɪғᴇsᴛ." "To... what?—ᴍᴀɴɪғᴇsᴛ! Yᴏᴜ ᴄᴀɴ ᴀʟʟᴏᴡ ᴍᴇ ᴛᴏ. I ᴄᴀɴ ᴇxᴘʟᴀɪɴ ʙᴇᴛᴛᴇʀ ᴛʜɪs ᴡᴀʏ." Orpheus looked to the Shadow, hopeless, finally asking, "Should I?"

"Yᴏᴜʀ ᴄᴏɴᴠᴇʀsᴀᴛɪᴏɴ ɪs ᴛʀɪᴠɪᴀʟ ᴄᴏᴍᴘᴀʀᴇᴅ ᴛᴏ ᴛʜᴇ ꜰᴀᴛᴇ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜɪs ᴜɴɪᴠᴇʀsᴇ. Sᴛᴀɴᴅ ᴅᴏᴡɴ."

Zanidar turned, glaring, and Orpheus's eyes began to glow a violent violet. "I'ᴍ sᴏʀʀʏ, ᴅᴏᴇs ᴛʜɪs ᴄᴏɴᴄᴇʀɴ ʏᴏᴜ?" "Eɴᴏᴜɢʜ ᴛᴏ ᴋɴᴏᴡ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ʏᴏᴜ ᴀʀᴇ ʙᴇɪɴɢ ᴡɪʟʟғᴜʟʟʏ ɪɢɴᴏʀᴀɴᴛ!"

Zanidar ignored her. "Yᴏᴜ—ʏᴏᴜ ᴡᴇʀᴇ ᴄʜᴏsᴇɴ ᴛᴏ ʙᴇᴀʀ ᴛʜᴇ ᴘʀᴏᴘʜᴇᴄʏ!" Zanidar spluttered. "Yᴏᴜ ᴋɴᴏᴡ ᴡʜᴀᴛ ʜᴀᴘᴘᴇɴs ᴡʜᴇɴ ᴘʀᴏᴘʜᴇᴄɪᴇs ᴀʀᴇ ɪɢɴᴏʀᴇᴅ! Yᴏᴜ ᴀʀᴇ ɴᴏ ʟᴏɴɢᴇʀ ᴡᴏʀᴛʜʏ ғᴏʀ ᴛʜɪs."

"Wᴇ'ᴠᴇ ʙᴇᴇɴ ʜᴇʀᴇ ғᴏʀ ᴅᴀʏs ᴡɪᴛʜᴏᴜᴛ ᴘʀᴏɢʀᴇss, ᴀɴᴅ ʏᴏᴜʀ ɢʀᴏᴜᴘ ʜᴀs ʙᴇᴇɴ ɴᴏᴛʜɪɴɢ ʙᴜᴛ ʀɪᴘᴘᴇᴅ ᴀᴘᴀʀᴛ."

Orpheus—no, Zanidar—chuckled. "Sʜᴀᴅᴏᴡ, I ᴀʙᴏᴜᴛ ɢᴇᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ɪᴍᴘʀᴇssɪᴏɴ ʏᴏᴜ'ᴠᴇ ᴀʙᴀɴᴅᴏɴᴇᴅ ʏᴏᴜʀ ǫᴜᴇsᴛ."

"I ʙᴇʟɪᴇᴠᴇ ᴡᴇ ʜᴀᴠᴇɴ'ᴛ ᴍᴇᴛ. Tʜɪs ɪs Oʀᴘʜᴇᴜs, Dᴀʀᴋᴇsᴛ ᴏꜰ Nɪɢʜᴛs. A ᴛʀᴀᴠᴇʟɪɴɢ ᴄᴏᴍᴘᴀɴɪᴏɴ ᴛᴏ ᴛʜᴇ Sʜᴀᴅᴏᴡ. Tᴀᴋᴇ ᴅᴏᴡɴ ᴛʜᴇ ꜰɪʀᴇ ᴡᴀʟʟ."

Orpheus struggled to find words. This quest wasn't his, it was Zanidar's. He hobbled closer, struggling for full control over his own body. Yet he let Zanidar speak through him, with his voice. "Wᴇ ʜᴀᴠᴇ ᴡᴀsᴛᴇᴅ ᴀᴡᴀʏ ᴅᴀʏs. Yᴏᴜʀ ʟᴇᴀᴅᴇʀ ᴍᴜsᴛ ʟᴇᴀᴅ ʏᴏᴜ, ᴇʟsᴇ I ᴡɪʟʟ."

"What's wrong?" "We... Wᴇ ᴍᴜsᴛ ʟᴇᴀᴠᴇ. Wᴇ ᴄᴀɴɴᴏᴛ ʀᴇᴍᴀɪɴ."

Exodus power-walked under the spell, loosely following the path. "Follow," he hissed. "And be prepared for an attack." Orpheus finally found the Shadow. Zanidar was... pressing his will onto Orpheus's mind, somehow. And Orpheus needed it to stop. He stumbled out onto the ground outside, moving slowly and awkwardly towards the Shadow. His eyes began to burn a soft violet and he opened his mouth, his voice calling, "MOVE." @Tesh@anyone nearby Talnic

"Let's try the invisibility thing," Exodus suggested. "If we get spotted, we can always unleash death and carnage if we have to. These monsters are very territorial." @JesterLavorre @Condensation

Exodus turned to Minuet. "Well, how many do you think you could take?"

"Good evening," Exodus said smoothly, "We may be in need of your assistance—assistance Ara says you may be able to offer?"

"We don't really have time for that..." "Memory?"

"If they discover us, they might force our hand," said Exodus. "We'll have to be ready for that. But no, I don't particularly have a magical solution to getting by easily."
