  1. Allow me to draw your attenion to the ancient year of, uh... I'm going to say sometime between 2011 and 2013. I was bored one day, and my thought process was something like "I'm bored. Maybe I should write a book... yeah. I'd be famous!" So I sat down and wrote about a paragraph of what I thought was pro-level writing, then never wrote anything again. Fast-forward to 2017. I was, once again, bored, and decided that I should write a book. Bear in mind that I had no idea how to write back then, and I just thought that anybody who published a book that had "good ideas" in it would be rich and famous! Like J.K. Rowling! The reason why she was rich and famous was because she wanted a wizard school, totally not because she worked hard to design a realistic world, awesome characters, and a comprehensive plotline! The only reason why people read books was because of the action scenes, and authors got rich off of "being creative." In case you can't tell, I hated my 2017 mindset. All the misconceptions! How was I such an idiot?!? Fast-foward even further, to my first month in High School (wowza, was that a long time ago). It was around then that I discovered that I had a natural talent for writing, as I got 100% on any narrative assignment that someone threw at me. Around then, my mindset actually got even worse, because I assumed that in order to write a good story, you only have to be good at prose! If your writing is good, then it doesn't matter how good your characters, plot, or world was. I could write anything, and I'd be rich and famous! From there, it was a ride. I hammered through eighty trillion editions of the same story and never got anywhere, because I didn't have a plotline, I didn't have characters, I didn't have a world. I was just writing super generic fantasy and, for some reason, I couldn't figure out what to write! It was so scudding frustrating ()! Then I discovered this guy named Brandon Sanderson (you might've heard of him) and his books, which were really good. I was a particularly big fan of his ideas of having a connected universe (the Cosmere) and magic system (Investiture!). I began to take after him, creating a multi-planet world called the Iconar Collective (I don't actually know if it was called that back then... it might've been the Icolar Collective, or something). I invented the Channelknights at the same time as the Parallarity, giving them the ability to *spoilers* *spoilers* *spoilers* and stuff--they were the beginning of what would eventually become what I've written. It took me a lot longer to build a comprehensive world than you might expect. It took a long time to decide that I wanted six realms; even longer to name them all. Icona didn't exist until I had read the Silmarillion for the first time (I wanted my own divine hierarchy), and while I did create Fadran pretty early on, he wasn't the same character you see in the Fellowship of the Thing for a looong time. After awhile, I finally began to figure out how character arcs worked. I began to understand plotlines, magic systems, worldbuilding. Stuff began to fall into place. I created the plotline, eventually, and how the characters fit into that not long later. Then came the Golden Era. It began just after I had a bunch of ideas, but no idea how to implicate them. I just kind of assumed that I could improvise when I was actually writing something and everybody would be okay with it... I assumed wrong (probably; the world may never know). The Golden Era began when I divised the Ultimate Overarching Magic System: Icara Compounds and Faiden Clusters (it's really complicated, but I explain it in a chapter coming to a thread near you, so hopefully you can wait). Spirit Bonds (and Spirit in general) came after I had managed to describe each of my individual magic systems under the Ultimate Overarching Magic System, and boy were they an awesome addition to my World; I don't know what the heck I did without them! From there, it was just filling plothole after plothole with new additions to my world, and my magic, and my characters. Just last night, actually, I described another super important part of my magic in my notebook, and like all the plotholes have been filled! It is the Golden Age of the Iconar Collective, and I am loving it! Does that answer your question? I hope that answers you question. Don't die! ~Fadran
  2. Fadran grabs another leftover backpack, slinging the one he stuffed with food over his shoulder. "Let's go!" He runs back to the forest.
  3. Will you be my Shardbuddy?
  4. Do you want a comprehensive history or a generalized time frame?
  5. "That stuff is most definitely explosive." He stuffs some more food into his pack. "Should we warn him?"
  6. Fadran frowns. "Is he messing with what I think he's messing with?"
  7. "Hello!" He replies cheerfully. "Lovely weather we're having."
  8. Fadran grabs his Channelblade, then attempts to stand--he fails, collapsing again. He is also unsuccessul in using any magic, as it's impossible to concentrate with the searing pain in his skull.
  9. Fadran grabs a sword, then picks whatever food seems unperishable and stuffs it in his backpack. "I wouldn't trust that stream--we have no idea what the gamemakers have put in it."
  10. "We'd best not go anywhere alone. Let's go."
  11. "I appreciate that, but I also have no intention of holding up the group." He sits up again, wincing. "I'll manage."
  12. "Wow! Thanks, man! Here." The short guy gives you 500 MM. @Enter a username
  13. "That's probably a good idea, but we're going to want to scout out the area, first."
  14. Fadran checks what's inside the dark glass bottle. "Fadran." "Sure, I guess."
  15. Fadran glances up at Wind, fingering his dagger. "Hi...?"
  16. "Then perfect. We're planning to hit Scadrial first, then go to Sel--Enter has something there that he thinks will help us out." He tries to sit up again, half-grunting, half-yelling as a louder spike of pain tried to force him back down.
  17. Fadran takes a seat next to Eric (I'm assuming we're well into the woods by now?) "Hey, man." Fadran says. Fadran checks his pack.
  18. "Seen many deaths." Says Fadran, who had appeared out of nowhere. He then vanishes.
  19. Fadran does his best to look nonthreatening, pushing his dagger into his belt (do I have a belt?).
