"Alright, then. Well... I'm going to go find a bed, because I haven't slept in a week and you two," he pointed between Herate and Daolan, "need to catch up. Peace out." He ducked out of the tent.

Janice doesn't reply.

"Lloyd... please don't."

Fadran nodded. "Thank you. Anything else we should address?"

"If we did that, we'd be conditioning you. Your planet and people have to the developments: not us. We can bring in an army to help fight for a time; we can't just outfit yours and expect everything to go along swimmingly. We can gear up a task force, but we need to leave it at that, or we'll completely destroy this planet's course of history."

"Did you get the gist, though?"

"Well, it's like what the old proverb says: 'give a man a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. Outfit a medieval army with rifles and laser blades, and you've suddenly crippled the course of history for a non-industrial planet because you were too goshdarn lazy for the war to end, and you've probably started at least seven terrorist organizations who're abusing the new technology, and nobody can fight back because all they have are spears.'"

"That would help. There's only one problem."

Janice opts not to resist. She hung her head, trying not to look at the others.

Fadran points at him. "What people? What stuff?"

"Ah. My apologies; I thought you were referring to the plan before the master plan. When we get to the castle proper, we're going to need a stike force of people they can't fight. Some of us, probably, and some others in Universes all over the place."

"Hit-and-runs. Give law enforcement something to do, and give the ordinary people a choice. Stress their economy; get people to choose us instead of them."

"That's definitely the best first step; it'll take awhile to build up a formidable force of people from universes all over anyways."

Janice's breathing sharpens, and a bead of sweat hidden by her hair slips down her face.

Ellis frowns. "You do? I sure don't."

"That's not something can say with absolute certainty or in good conscience of mind."

"I mean... Herate can tell you all about our adventures. We've done it. I've been doing it."

"That we do. Hopefully I don't kill him on sight."

"A... have you heard of the term 'Macrosmos' before?" "In theory."

Janice wished she had a hood to pull down, but carefully stepped out from behind Lloyd and held her hands up.

*snaps fingers* "We're here! Finally!"

"What I mean is could this secret potentially harm others?" Janice yelps.

"They call owls the wisest of the animals for a reason." Fadran took the letter, petting the owl for a second before it flew away. He opened it up and read it to himself before reading it aloud. "'Dear Fadran, "'I would like you to know that your idea is incredibly insane and ludicrous. I would also like you to know that I'm all for it and would like to begin as soon as possible. I'm in contact with Chris right now; his letter should be arriving shortly after mine. He's following another group of potentially helpful people to add to this little coalition of you. According to what you've told me, then the people Ayia's met with should be very helpful. "'As I understand it, Iode has been found out, captured, and most likely executed. He did always say that he wanted to be a martyr.' "'Nox.'"

"Well that was unnecessarily vague and inciting. What story?"

"Would we be in even more danger if we didn't know it?"
