TBH it's not my favorite chapter either. I feel like it was forced, because--get this--it was. I'm just trying to blast my way through a rough draft before I make any big edits, though, or else I'll lose all motivation and have to restart (again), and I do not want to restart (again). I'm writing about that right now, so... yay? Oops. I plan on making Corrin cooler soon. I just need to put him on a battlefield and boom. Fortunately, that won't take long; I'm writing a chapter about a fight with demons right now, actually. The difference between elves and humans? Apart from the ears? They have different magicks. I'll get into lineage and magic systems at... some point in time. What're the demons like? *Malicious laughter* Where do they come from? Sunken Deep! <-- This probably isn't going to make an appearance in book one. Why are we fighting them? I'm almost there! Gimme time! Corrin's backstory? Huh, I guess I should give a flashback chapter at some point or the other (his backstory isn't super developed or awesome, so...)

"Well... seeing as how we have a lot of open space now... how do you feel about teleportation?"

"Oh, it's a competition now? We can't make it a competition, or else it'll just be..." Fadran struggled for the word. "Pointless. So how's about we table the kissing thing for later, say you won round one, and call it a day? Wait for the next moment. The next right moment. Okay?"

"I'll let you win for now; I'll save mine for a really overdramatic moment. That sound good?" He brushed one of her curls behind her ear. "Though 2-1 is does mean that you're still winning." He pulled her close and kissed her.

Fadran takes it, getting to his feet. "So it was a one-time thing, then? Or do I have to initiate the next one?"

"Oh no, I'm fine. Or... I will be. What're the chances that you have another one of those up you sleeve?"

Alright! Time travel: True! Special Relativity is awesome. Chocolate egg: True! I didn't know that the egg had peanut butter in it and he almost died. It's the only thing he doesn't blame me for. Magic System: Almost True, but actually False! I'm working on defining my religion after the fashion of a magic system.

"Yep, just... just keep laughing. Might've broken my leg. Keep laughing." He was smiling broadly.

"Guys, please... please don't make this any worse for yourselves."

YES!!! Icona would've cheered, had he been there. As it was, Fadran's mind wasn't exactly thinking any differently. When he had pictured this happening in his mind (don't be startled; all men do it), he had pictured it happening against the sunset, the breeze blowing through both their hair while they stared into each others' eyes until the moment finally happened. One of them would lean in, and the other would let it happen. He had imagined it being a short and sweet experience; a quick peck, nothing more. One of them would give off a relieved sigh; the other a relieved laugh. It was nothing like what he had imagined. He found himself kissing back, incapable of doing anything else; physically or emotionally. In the back of his mind somewhere, he wondered if anyone was watching. He almost laughed at the thought of Kindness spinning around the two of them, simultaneously giggling and sighing in delight, before realizing that laughing during a kiss probably wouldn't be the most comfortable thing to do. Fadran and Queen. It sounded right. When he finally broke out of it, he thought he was going to say something really elegant, like 'I would miss infinite more experiences just to have this one with you.' Instead, he only leaned foward, lost his balance, and fell right out of the tree.

Aight, I'll wait a couple minutes for more people to answer...

"I was going to say the exact same thing." Fadran frowned. "Okay, not the exact same thing. I probably would've laced it with some sort of metaphorical joke or something, but... I mean, you said the gist of it, so I guess it works." He took a breath. "I feel like we're missing something. Do you feel like we're missing something?"

Fadran smiled. "This is nice."

Fadran takes her hand again; this time without hesitation.

I imagine that you're searching it out because you wanted to read your old works. I do it all the time! I have an old document literally so chock-full of comments that the scrollbar goes twice as far as the actual pages.
