  1. Leonie takes a sphere, sucks in some stormlight, then practices Soulcasting. She condenses the air in front of her, turning them into tiny droplets of water vapor and mist.
  2. The boat starts moving. "Come on!" Janice shouts. @Negative_Null @Condensation @A Windrunner @DramaQueen
  3. "Huh... one would think that it'd be more difficult to teleport somewhere that you can't see. So is it distance? Is it just concentration?"
  4. "I'm already pretty good at Soulcasting."
  5. "What kind of training?"
  6. Janice hit another button, and a motor started. "Guys! I think I did something!"
  7. "Well, generally with teleportation, if you can think about where you're going, then you can go just about anywhere. If you can't, then you don't move at all. If you move just a little bit if you're slightly distracted, though... then your teleportation is less like instantaneous positional change and more like really hard, really overcomplicated walking."
  8. "So it isn't concentrational; it's distance." Fadran thought for a moment. "This puts a wrinkle in things."
  9. "Ready to talk yet?" The inquisitor asked. Iode gasped for air, face covered in sweat. "Or do you need some more motivation?" He held up the red-hot iron. "A coalition!" Iode gasped. "He's forming... a coalition. Between Universes in the Macrosmos. He says its only for the benefit of the Macrosmos-aware; a collection of knowledge." "Who is he?" The inquisitor asked. Iode clamped his jaw shut. He screamed as the inquisitor laid the iron against his arm, but in this he was determined not to speak. If he was to die a martyr, then so be it. The inquisitor growled, then removed the iron. "He isn't going to speak. We've gotten enough out of him; now get him out of my sight." Iode gasped again, almost crying for the sweet release of death as the executioner approached. Death came quickly from the executioner's sword as it pierced his heart. The inquisitor finished writing his letter, then handed it to a servant. "Bring this to the Emperor; he'll want to know what we have found."
  10. "Whoa! Hold on there." Fadran helped her to her feet. "Wait just a second; there's a method to testing the limits of magic." He pointed at a rock. "You see that? Concentrate on it and try teleporting there."
  11. Leonie eyes all the spheres. "What's all this for?"
  12. She pressed a random button, and the ship began to shake. Janice yelped, pressing it again, but the ship didn't start shaking. She started pulling random knobs and levers, hoping that something good would happen.
  13. "And what have you found your powers to be?"
  14. Janice's hand hovers over the various switches and knobs. Why couldn't an engine be easy to start up?
  15. "Under what moon were you born, Spark?"
  16. Janice swallowed, then nodded and ran to the boat.
  17. Leonas frowns. "I am content with the story I have been given. It... makes sense." "Very well."
  18. Leonie hops after Seberial.
  19. Janice doesn't struggle as they gag her. @Negative_Null
  20. "You seek a new life? A new story?"
