Oh that's weird. I didn't see this, and yet the next thing I did was the thing. Why didn't I get a notification?

  2. *quick google search for wave function collapse* me: Oh! I know what that is! … me: why would that not exist?
  3. “Lesson five: good suggestion! We’re doing that.” @The Halcyon Girl @The Aspiring Archivist
  4. Some days I really do wonder if the aliens have figured out how to break atoms in half yet

what if they come here and we just scare the crap out of them with our nukes? Like… “earthlings… we spent centuries paving the way for you to figure out space travel, and this is what you’ve been doing?”

That sounds like something an alien would say.

  5. “You didn’t like my sleeping bag?” Vance was already scanning the area; his verdict so far was that the place was almost definitely not conducive to a good time.
  6. “LESSON FOUR!” Vance yelped. This one was actually supposed to be lesson, like… sixteen, or something. But he kicked it up due to the circumstances. “Never assume you’re safe when you’re in someone else’s domain.”
  7. Vance flicked some monster goop off his blades. “Lesson number three: take a minute to breathe before figuring that out.”
  8. What?

I didn't get curious about whether Final Fantasy was any good and downloaded IV and played it via emulator and instantly fall in love with it - you got curious about whether Final Fantasy was any good and downloaded IV and played it via emulator and instantly fell in love with it!

You may be an Independent Boi (as my brother says,) but you are not a grown man if you think videogames are worth not sleeping.

Only Sanderson books are worth not sleeping.

I have a shift that starts at 2 PM. No other obligations before that.

(Also it's the American release because I can't speak Japanese hehehe)

  9. Oh hey it's your bithday

    good job

  10. Just yeet whatever words you can conceive at me.
  11. Numbers! You are naming numbers. You know. Like latin. Unus, duo, tres, etc. Except it can't be latin 'cause this is 100% high fantasy with 0% romans. Everything is base-12, so I need numbers 1 through 12. Please dump tons of suggestions though so I can sort through the ones I like and make sure they work aesthetically.
  12. The witch had retreated. ”These are the last of them!” Vance called. “She can’t summon any more.”
  13. Okay, so we’ve been at it for awhile. Let’s reconvene and figure out the stuff. What things are or aren’t working for you? Are there aspects of the world that need to be benched, changed, or reemphasized? Is the magic fun and functional? For me, I think we should maaayyyyybe redefine the meta magic system a bit. Currently it’s elemental, but the ways it ties in with each magic system seems vague and unintuitive. Personally I think the solution is to reduce the magic system definition from {Elements In; Elements Out; Effects} down to {Source; Effects}. (this applies mostly to the likes of @xinoehp512)
  14. The witch was leaving. That probably wasn’t good. He was cutting it a little close here. But still. Learning. “Pop quiz!” Vance announced. “Show what you’ve learned through example: help me kill some monsters!”
  15. “LESSON TWO!” He was projecting his voice for the honorable purpose of drowning out Kealie. Three of the monsters launched themselves at Vance. Two from the front, one to his left. All looked to him like various forms of chimera. He dropped to face between the three of them, both blades held point-down in locked arms. Within two breaths he mapped out their trajectories, discerning the monsters’ path with what he hoped was close-ish to pinpoint accuracy. A shockwave clapped out like thunder, and the blazing afterimage of two clean slashes crossed the air. The wind blasted out from him, but this time much weaker and controlled than the likes he had used against the Bunny. The monsters collapsed at his feet—probably not dead, but certainly taken care of. They looked to him to be unconscious. “Never go all-out if you can help it,” Vance continued, bringing his blades back in from their follow-throughs. “Especially when facing multiple foes; especially in someone else’s domain. Every ounce of energy is crucial in a fight that you can’t gauge the length of.”
  16. “What? A lesson? Do you truly think so little of me?” The monsters began to claw their way out of the portals. A whole slew of nasties from… hm. Mostly Ikardi, it seemed. ”No, no. I’m going to be giving you a few at least.”
  17. “Lesson number one!” Vance announced. He began condensing the wind about his blade. “Always set the battlefield to your own advantage.” Hands, claws, fangs, and various eldritch stenches reached towards him. “I have done not that,” he explained, watching the monsters warily, “to show you just how important that is.” @The Halcyon Girl @The Aspiring Archivist
