Long Game 92: Process of Elimination
Channelknight Fadran replied to Kasimir's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Several problems: If someone were to troll me, you would not receive an opposing result. This is always an issue, of course, but still. We don't know if anyone has any false-read-proof roles. I'm somewhat worried that my own Confirmed Villager role acts as an anti-smoker role of sorts, which is why I was trying to commission a rolescanner. Similar to the first issue, this is one we'd have to take into account regardless. The most pressing: we never discovered if a trolled rolescan gives the exact opposite result - just that it gives an incorrect one. With several neutral roles in this game, it's possible that a Villager might not appear as an Elim if your ability was trolled.- 3885 replies

"I mean... I guess that's a start. But then again, people will only rarely answer a question like 'can I kill you' with total seriousness. You might end up hurting someone who only thought you were joking." Fadran sighed. "And also... man, I know you grew up thinking this, but assuming that death is the only good thing to come out of life is a really naive way to think. There are so many wonderful things that the Macrosmos has to offer: like good food, and art, and... I dunno. Music."

"The rules for people is different than those for robots. The first is that a person must protect their own and others' existence. The second is that a person must not harm another person, unless they must in order to defend themselves or other people. The third is that a person must respect other peoples' beliefs and worldview, unless it harms other people or prevents other people from remaining safe." Fadran sat back up again to look her in the eyes. "I know a lot of assassins and killers. If I'm being completely honest, I'm... something of a killer myself. I've fought in over three wars. In all that time I tried not to dwell on the people whose lives I ended, no matter what they were trying to do to me. What's important is that those people were trying to harm others and me, and I was acting to defend those people and myself. To go out and kill someone without reason is murder: it isn't honorable. Even if being a killer is part of your culture, you shouldn't impose that culture onto other people who have a different worldview than you."

"A robot is an artificial being, usually without a real mind or soul. They created by people to perform specific tasks. My friend Kris has discovered that in several seperate universes, people who make robots independently develop three laws for them to follow." Fadran began sticking up fingers. "The first is that a robot must never harm a person: usually the kind of person who made it. The second is that a robot must always obey the orders of those who made it, unless the orders are to harm a person. The third is that a robot must protect its own existence, unless that goes against its orders or if doing so would harm a person. "Of course, these laws are completely arbitrary. You could totally create a robot that follows these laws in the wrong order, or doesn't even follow them at all. They are just standard guideliness to ensure we use them properly." Fadran sat back in his chair. "I've developed a similar set of rules for people, like you and me."

White Iron - The Reaper Corps
Channelknight Fadran replied to Channelknight Fadran's topic in Roleplaying
Kaeni had - as per request - been given a room neighboring Mercury's. Hers was pretty sparse save for her bow and quiver of arrows on the wall, but honestly she liked it that way. The open space really helped her relax... just sort of burn out. Fire wasn't supposed to be contained and confined, so neither was she. Just space and air was all she needed. I'm... She looked around in something of a daze. I'm a Reaper now? That had been the goal. Am I... Kaeni looked up, as if to the gods. Did I do well enough? No answer. Not that she was expecting any. Her fight had only just begun, it seemed.- 894 replies
