Mistborn are much less invested than a Shardblade, as the bands of mourning are less invested than a Shardblade. The Mistborns only chance would be to flare all their metals. Even if they did that, what's to stop the Elsecaller from soulcasting the air around the Mistborn to rock? or fire? Edit- Extra healing wouldn't be useful against aluminum.

It might be related somehow to Trell's intent, but considering we don't know Trell's intent, and even if we did, Atium and Lerasium are only tangentially related to Preservation and Ruins intent, with Lerasium giving you power to preserve yourself and others, and Atium making you an efficient killing machine, or giving you the opportunity to ruin your age temporarily in exchange for lowering it later, so we probably couldn't figure it out.

Ironically, my knowledge of the rest of the Cosmere (Mistborn) kept me from figuring out that the night aether could teleport the user. As soon as they said it was the opposite, I thought oh, he can teleport himself. Then when they tested teleporting other people, I assumed that they would have come to the same conclusion as me, and I assumed that they were testing whether or not he could teleport himself.

Well, I finished it. dang it, I was so sure that Raeth's dad knew the whole time. The ending felt a little deus ex machina, especially with the way Darro had everything planned out, but I'm glad it had a happy ending. Too bad about the cliffhanger though.

I like her, I do hope that Raeth gets to marry her somehow, although that's looking less and less likely. Maybe he'll step down after the forgotten are dealt with?

I have recently started reading Aether of night, and I have decided to make a thread with my reactions and predictions. Please only post spoilers that go up to chapter eighteen. Reactions as of Chapter 6: Aether is a very cool magic system. I like the family element in the story. Predictions as of Chapter 6: Raeth's dad knew about the shadow attack beforehand, that's why he told Raeth he was proud of him. Darro killed Hern. The Aethers are split into two groups, each connected to a different one of the twins. The shadow attack was caused by one of the twins breaking out.

It was another baby bunny that he had saved. The reason he sprayed himself with rose perfume was that the baby bunnies had extremely sensitive noses, and he didn't want to distress them. The butler had quite a collection of rescued bunnies, he was dedicated to stopping the anti-bunny cult.

Well, if the battle is on Scadrial, or any planet besides Roshar, it isn't going to go well for the Radiant. No Stormlight, unless they have perfect gemstones, and even then it would be a highly limited amount, unless they are right next to a perpendicularity.

Marsh has Atium. Harmony could make more. Straff had a secret stash of it. If a Mistborn were to be created from one of the remaining Lerasium beads, then they could potentially get all sixteen metals.

If we are going to nerf the Mistborn, then why are we giving the Radiant full fifth-ideal powers?
