  1. "Is that a measure of time, or a measure of distance?"
  2. The little clockwork creature clattered happily off along the gears. The explorer hoped the little thing knew were it was going.
  3. Or perhaps all Consultants contained a sliver of the mechanic.
  4. Moash wants Kaladin to kill himself. He expressly thinks to himself that he would see Kaladin dead before Odium took him.
  5. Hm. Have you seen this thread? You might like it.
  6. District: 4 Name: Nameless Gender: male Wooh first rp join ever!
  7. She sighed and started following after it. "So, who exactly is this mechanic guy?"
  8. Going off the dream idea, here's another bad pitch: Kaladin and Szeth succeed in healing Ishar, but his Honorblade is stolen by El, who flees into the Cognitive realm and escapes. Kaladin, Szeth, and Ishar then go back to Dalinar, where Ishar gives Dalinar information vital to winning the contest just before it begins. Meanwhile, Shallan and Adolin search for Ba-Ado-Mishram, and manage to free her, restoring the deadeyes back to life and fixing all the other problems caused by her imprisonment. there is also an unintended side effect: freeing Ba-Ado-Mishram also restores her connection to all Singers. El chooses this moment to show up, mortally wounding Adolin, which causes Shallan to have a breakdown, before using Ishar's Honorblade to take Ba-Ado-Mishram's connection to the Singers and transfer it to humanity. Through this connection, T-Odium is able to give visions to any human he chooses. Just as Dalinar is about to strike the finishing blow on his champion, Odium uses the last moment of his freedom to pull most of humanity into a vision and offer them a deal: He will pull them into a vision of a perfect life and sustain their consciousness until they wish to pass on to the Beyond. Dalinar defeats Odium's champion, but chaos ensues as vast swathes of the human population take the deal, trapping themselves in visions forever. Shallan, shattered by Adolin's apparent death, accepts the deal. However, El summons Honor's perpendicularity in order to leave the Cognitive realm where Ba-Ado-Mishram was kept, and Adolin is able to draw in stormlight because of his bond to the newly-revived Maya. He wakes up from unconsciousness and apparent death to find Shallan unresponsive, trapped in a vision similar to that which the Stormfather gave to Dalinar. Meanwhile, human society is shaken to its core as huge portions of the Thrill-addicted Alethi army accepted Odium's deal, along with many others from the rest of the population. This gives all of Odium's aligned forces a massive advantage, allowing them to gain the lead in the budding Cold War. Most main characters refused Odium's deal, but Kalak agrees in order to be safe from torture, and Moash agrees, with the added clause that his body will become Odium's avatar. Can't think of any other main characters who'd accept, but there might be some others, especially depending on the circumstances.
  9. "Oh, sorry. Doomstick's another narrator." Nameless glanced around nervously "Hopefully he's not here right now. He, uh, doesn't like plot very much. Anyways," Nameless gestured towards the creepy chaos dude, "You're not him, but you can narrate him some if you want." "Oh, gotcha. A new path. That's cool. Um, where would that new path be exactly?"
  10. Look. The Dannex with a bow is adorable. The melted Dannex with a bow would be funny. That monstrosity makes me want to claw my eyes out of my head.
  11. Nameless poked him with a stick. "Doomstick, wake up. It's about time for the creepy chaos guy to do some creepy watching from the shadows, reminding the readers that he's plotting to manipulate the Universe Explorer into getting him into the center thingy."
  12. "Oh, well, I was going there anyways, but when I get there, I'll wake him up."
  13. "What kind of help do you need?" The explorer asked.
  14. "We? You mean there's more than one of you?"
  15. "Oh, you talk? That's new. I though this universe would speak in a grinding language or something."
  16. She glanced down at it in wonder. This universe was so strange sometimes.
  17. Meanwhile, the being of chaos gave up. The barrier was simply impenetrable to him. No being of pure chaos could get through it. Angered, he searched the universe for a way through the barrier. But it was useless. Nothing in the universe could ever aid him. It was all purest order, not the slightest taint of chaos. Then he saw her.
  18. But the being was not content. This destruction came too slowly for his liking. So he sought the center. The source of all the order in this universe.
  19. Stretching forth his hand, he struck out against the gears around him.
  20. An being to whom the universe's order was an insult.
  21. For now, they manifested in the slightest stuttering of the gears. In a momentary grinding. The explorer halted, staring in confusion, hearing for the briefest instant a distant grinding. Then the gears went on, and the universe resumed its normal pace. For now.
  22. It's word was law, its mind was eternal, it's code unchanging.
  23. Fortunately for her, or perhaps unfortunately, another guide was swiftly approaching. Drawn by the break she caused in the normally orderly workings of the universe, a guardian stalked her through the twisting maze of gears that made up reality.
  24. Definitely an Epic. Oppressing people is so much cooler than being oppressed. Don't quote me on that please. WYR be converted into a shade or into a Koloss?
