    "Oh. That was a shorter recap than I expected." Moni pulled a book of a shelf, sat back, and started reading. "So, do you know what happened to Nameless?"

    "So, um, anyways... could you fill me in on what happened leading up to the whole corrupted narrator thing?"

    Moni and the wanderer appeared in a library in Ghanderflaffle city. Moni let out a sigh of relief. "That was close. Glad I could get out of there before they all died."

    The dust twisted, forming into a horrifying (and still totally cute) clock withergeist. "All righty then." Moni disappeared in a flash of light, as did the wanderer.

    "I don't want powers! I want to not die. no powers will give me safety from a corrupted narrator, particularly not new ones just given to me by a narrator." Moni glanced over at the building as it dissolved into cockroaches. "You know what? How about this: give me 5 minutes of teleportation powers, and I'll go stop Sequence."

    Moni stared at Thaidakar. "Okay you know what? I think there might be a slight misunderstanding right now. I don't have any powers yet. The only thing Nameless has given me so far is a healthy sense of my own mortality. That sense is telling me that if I, a normal person went to go confront a Narrator turned withergeist, I'm going to die."

    "I'M NOT GOING TO GO DIE JUST BECAUSE YOU TELL ME TO!" Normal withergeist+narrator powers.

    "Wait, is Sequence an author or a narrator? How would a narrator take the powers of the Witherlord?"

    "Wait, destroying Kalithor? The Witherlord's here!?" Moni jumped as a distant explosion sounded, then relaxed. "Oh, that's not the Witherlord. He doesn't use explosions."

    "Me? you want me to find the witherlord? Do you want me to die? Also, how in the world is the witherlord a narrator?"

    Moni blinked. "The Witherlord? you mean Withy? He's still alive?"
  12. NameIess
    "This thing has infected me on a spiritual level. Wouldn't work." Nameless winced again. "Maybe we can figure out a way to heal me, but we need time to do so. Time I don't have. I need you to banish me again. Somewhere off-page, where time won't flow, and my injury won't worsen. But first, you'll need help." Nameless glanced around as if searching for something. "Why is she... never mind." A door split the air, and Moni walked through it. She was holding a piece of paper, but at a glance from Nameless she stuffed it into her pack. Nameless gestured at her. "Thaidakar, this is Moni, my avatar. She can help find a cure. Now, I suggest you banish me quickly, before I turn into a withergeist and kill you."

    Namelss winced. "I'm listening."

    "Whatever this injury is doing, it's destroying my narrative powers. Connecting me to you would only corrupt Adonalsium too."

    "So what is the price?"
  16. NameIess
    "No, you can't take my narrator powers." Nameless coughed. "Besides, I might not be dying. I might be turning into a withergeist."

    Nameless stood up, leaning on a staff that materialized out of thin air. " Guys? I think we still have a problem. I might be dying."

    Nameless gasped, standing up. "That was too close." Then he collapsed to the ground.

    Nameless gestured at the storm that was beginning to flow outward from Sequence. "Maybe because this place is the mind of a narrator who's about to start killing us all?"

    Nameless looked down at his chest. Tendrils of corruption flowed from his wound, seeking to claim his soul. But they were held back. For now. "We need a new plan. A narrator that still has their powers." He glanced over at Thaidakar, then his eyes fell on Mortals. "HEY! Get over here and help us escape this place!"

    Nameless stared at the withergeist. "Yeah, we should probably go." He grabbed the Wanderer's hand, narrating them both away. They disappeared in a flash of light, reappearing on the top of a mountain overlooking the Ghanderflaffle empire. Only they didn't.

    Nameless pulled out Shar, preparing to strike it down, then stopped. Time to stop playing around. The withergeist exploded into nonexistance.

    The sky darkened slightly. The wind stopped blowing peacefully.

    "Sequences head. We're inside Sequences head."

    Nameless stared at Sequence. Then at Thaidakar. He groaned, turning on the Wanderer. "You brought us into her head? Why on earth would you ever think that entering a narrator's mind was a good idea? Let alone a corrupted narrator. Storms, we're lucky the withergeist hasn't noticed we're here yet."
