    Someone else dashed through the front door, bowling over Impossible, ran into the kitchen, grabbed an Earwxium knife, and smashed his way outside through the window. Nameless popped up next to Thaidakar. "The Witherlord doesn't have to be an author. He wasn't in the past." He winced suddenly, form wavering. "Hang on, I need to concentrate." He dissolved into nothing. Authors don't really get involved with fixing things. At least not directly. They might send one of their characters to fix things, but direct intervention is mostly off the table. Nameless chopped the vines holding him, leaping up into the sky to avoid them. "Oh come on. You're really going to try and kill me? After all that friendly conversation? Honestly. Why do you even want to kill me? Aside from the whole 'I'm an evil force of chaos and death' thing. I'm not going to interfere with your plans for Moni unless you try to kill her. A little strife is good for an avatar."

    Someone else was quite mortified. He dodged the sword, apologizing profusely for the mix-up. "Someone must have given me the wrong address. My bad. I really should update my website." He quickly walked out the door, shoving an apology pie into Nowhere's hands. "Well, that's good. In any case, I must be going. I have quite a busy schedule at the moment." Nameless turned to leave. "So you guys don't know where X is either, huh?" Moni frowned. "Can you clear something up for me? Who is X? Is he an author? I've heard of him before, but I'm not entirely sure how he relates to you, and TLT as a whole."

    Someone else watched this in horror, then waved hello to Impossible. "Sorry I haven't finished baking your cookies. Nowhere there keeps eating them." He dashed inside and made a third batch of cookies, this time deciding to personally guard them from Nowhere."

    Someone else glared at him through the window.

    While Nowhere was doing this, someone else snuck into his kitchen and whipped up a new batch of cookies, throwing them into the oven with a quick lightweaving to disguise the fact that there were cookies cooking.

    Oops. I mistyped. Meant that to be Someone else. Someone else watched in horror. Now he had to bake more cookies.

    Nowhere snuck in again and grabbed his cookies out of the oven.

    Someone else was busily using Nowhere's oven to bake cookies. He froze as Nowhere entered, looking up at him like a deer caught in headlights.

    I know that Hoid got those powers because he held a Dawnshard. That's my point. He has all the same powers as an ex-Dawnshard, and no obvious incredibly dangerous powers like an invested Dawnshard is supposed to have.

    I don't think he's a Dawnshard. I mean, all his powers (aside from the ones that come from Auxiliary) seem basically the same as Hoid's. He has regen, can't hurt stuff, is very durable, that sort of thing. If he was a Dawnshard holder, I'd expect him to be more powerful, or at least to have other powers. Especially since he has some kind of invested art with Auxiliary. Being able to eat investiture might count, but I don't know how that matches up with a Dawnshard whose intent doesn't allow for killing stuff.

    Sigzil tells Hoid that if the Night Brigade catches him, they might connect the Dawnshard to Hoid and go after him. So it seems like they're trying to retrace the Dawnshard's steps in order to find it.

    It doesn't seem like Sig's still a Dawnshard. If I had to guess, the Night Brigade is searching for the Dawnshard by following the trail of ex-Dawnshards. I'm guessing that's why Hoid convinced Sigzil to become a Dawnshard temporarily, to throw them off of his own trail. Maybe he though they'd stop chasing Sig once they realized he wasn't Hoid.

    That's possible, but considering this WoB: If it is how things are, it probably won't matter much.

    That's ignoring the time dilation. He isn't active constantly.

    "Does she know that?" Moni let sighed exasperatedly. "You know, for one of the legendary mimes, you're really not that helpful. Aside from saving us all from the Witherlord, of course."

    "What happens to the survey if she fills it out?" Moni cocked her head. "What does the Witherlord want with the survey? What possible use could it be to him?"

    Moni sighed regretfully. "Well, can you at least answer some questions? Why is the Witherlord chasing us? And why didn't he kill us all when he had the chance? Nameless stared at the pinpricks of darkness that were the Witherlord's eyes. "Moni is my only avatar. Her life is worth more to me than anything else in this thread." He raised his sword. "I will not let you kill her. So answer me. What are you planning to do with Moni?"

    Moni nodded slowly. "So is that the only reason you brought us here? Because it's safer? Or are we going to go talk to some guy who's going to give us some quest to find something that is essential to defeating the Witherlord?" Nameless took an involuntary step back. "Why is it so important to you? And what do you plan to do with my avatar to get it?"

    Well, anyways. We have a Mistborn now. Should I let the insurance company know we're ready?

    Moni gasped. "Really? That's... wow. Even Nameless hasn't been here. Are we safe from the Witherlord?" Nameless narrowed his eyes. "Bound to her soul? What is it?"

    "I... Where are we?" Moni looked around. "What is this place?" Nameless eyed the encroaching withergeists warily. "What could she have from you? That survey? But you could have taken that. I don't understant. Why didn't you just take whatever it was from her?"

    Moni stared at the chaos in the courtyard. "Yes, we should. Where to?" A curious expression crossed Nameless' face. "I... don't know. Why do you care about her?"

    Nameless grunted, yanking his blade out of the shroud's grip.. "Hey Nowhere. That actually worked somewhat. Good job on that." He looked around at the robots. "I guess I was wrong about it not hurting. Ah well." He pointed his blade at the Witherlord. "Answer my question. What do you want with my avatar?"

    Nameless burned with light. Blindingly brilliant, it stunned the withergeists for a brief instant. Long enough for him to lunge at the Witherlord with his Narrationblade. He ignored the robots appearing, slashing his Blade through the Witherlord's chest.

    Nameless nodded. "I'll be going now. The Witherlord's after my avatar, and I intend to see what I can do about it." he disappeared again. Nameless appeared behind the Witherlord, standing about ten feet away. "Witherlord, what do you want with my avatar?"
