  1. Nameless appeared in a flash. "Nowhere? Looks like you have an opportunity to try your plan. The Witherlord's started to move. Also, Thaidakar, glad to see you got the two places at one time thing." He glared at Mythos. "Make one wrong move, and..."
  2. Well, we only needed a seeker for this assignment.
  3. Wait a second. *facepalms* We could have just used hemalurgy. way easier.
  4. That chilling sensation was back. "That was a nice fight, wasn't it? Too bad you had the sense to end it before something... unfortunate happened."
  5. Oh. You have to burn it, you know? It's like... I don't actually know how to describe it.
  6. As he engaged Thaidakar this time, Mythos felt a slowness to his limbs. They seemed to move just a little too slowly to block Thaidakar's barrage of strikes, leaving his Shardplate to take far too many hits. And... was it his imagination, or was that armor cracking too quickly? Most of Thaidakar's blows had been glancing at best, yet cracks ran over practically the entire chestplate. And his helm was nearly broken, and it hadn't taken more than a few blows.
  7. Mythos felt a weakness to his powers. The stormlight seemed almost dull in his veins. The normally raging storm now a slight pattering of rain. Distantly, quietly, he heard a sound in his head. A slight... straining noise. As if whatever creature had taken up residence within his head was deep in concentration.
  8. *Shrugs* Sure. Here you go. *hands over bead*
  9. Thaidakar sent a new recruit to Threnody (the continent with the evil) and the insurance rates went waaaaay up. I negotiated lower rates, but the company wants full access to all our activities. We need a powerful seeker in order to ensure that the Bondsmith they're going to hire to make their oaths of secrecy binding isn't faked in some way, so we're trying to decide which operative to use for that.
  10. The voice seemed to subside as Mythos fought Thaidakar. Mythos began to think that perhaps it meant to only wat-his sword arm slowed briefly. Just a hair, but it was enough to let Thaidakar land a blow, cracking Mythos' Shardplate.
  11. A chilling sensation crawled up Mythos' spine. He had an uncomfortable feeling that the creature inside his head was smiling. "This will be fun. A duel with another narrator. And one whom you seem to like too. Such uncertainty."
  12. Has he always seen them that way? "oh, now this is interesting." the voice cackled happily. "Who is Thaidakar to you? would you kill him to get your revenge on this... Rond?"
  13. Yeah? Well where is it? *searches Thaidakar's desk angrily* I broke twenty-seven bones getting that thing.
  14. Maybe. But I think she'd be more likely to sen- Hey! Where's Nazh's knife? Who moved that from the display case? Do you guys know how much I had to go through to get that knife?
  15. Well he lost his memories. Unless he's always been as evil as he is now, he'd have a moment of horror at what he's become before becoming that again. The voice in Mythos' head returned. "Do you blame this one for how you turned out? Or perhaps you blame the Witherlord. Would you kill them to atone for your crimes?
  16. I think that might be why the agent hasn't popped up again. Nazh seemed rather... angry the last time I saw him. (by which I mean he kicked me off a cliff and dropped a chasmfiend on my head)
  17. Last agent we sent to recruit her still hasn't reappeared. I don't think she's an option.
  18. Rond blinked. "I... Mythos? Why are you so angry? What did I...do to deserve..." He crumpled to his knees. "I- I didn't mean... I only... only wanted to..." He trailed off, squeezing his eyes shut in horror.
  19. We don't, but we managed to get scientists in there to analyze it before Autonomy discovered us. They're researching the data they got, but they report that they're unlikely to make significant advances.
  20. All right. He says we have 32 beads left. Found a cache on Taldain last month. Some mad scientist had been diffusing it from the souls of Scadrians. Our operatives were unfortunately unable to determine the scientist's method for doing so. Hm. You do have some field experience. What do you think Thaidakar?
  21. Next to the tree there sat a man in golden armor.
  22. Alright. I'll go talk to him. be right back. Also, should we alloy the Lerasium to use less, or just make the operative a full Mistborn?
  23. Nameless stared at him. "You know Thaidakar, that might be the smartest thing I've heard you say. I don't need a lab. I need a forge." He smiled and disappeared, blocking his trail so that Thaidakar couldn't follow him." I dunno. This one wouldn't really be in Nameless' character. He doesn't like Thaidakar much right now, and wouldn't accept his help unless he was desperate. Someone else followed the Quarkbeast, making a silent vow to himself. He would find the food that Quarkbeasts savor the most, no matter how long it took.
  24. Hm. Who's in charge of the inventory? I'll ask them.
  25. Yeah. We could break out the Lerasium stores and get one of our senior agents to do it. Might need to postpone the binding for a couple of days to train them.
